Chapter 819 - 175: The Old Man

On the open ground beside the high walls, a crowd gathered to watch and cheer as two men fought with weapons in their hands.

"You’re no match for me, still far from it." Wu Mouping said nonchalantly, his hands covered in blood, with holes everywhere, but healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Though he was a Tier Eight Extraordinary, his abilities weren’t flashy. His strong physique and powerful strength, combined with superb combat skills, were enough to beat most people.

When he first became a Tier Eight Extraordinary, his body wasn’t this strong, but after nearly dying from a severe injury, it seemed to have activated some gene, allowing his body to grow stronger day by day at a speed visible to the naked eye.

This made him increasingly arrogant, leading him to challenge that Undead Knight. Although everyone knew it was powerful, he still went ahead, genuinely believing he had the ability to fight it.

But that creature slapped him awake, reminding him that all his efforts were trivial compared to real power.

The young man in front of him was just like him, equally ignorant of the breadth of the world, having just become a Tier Eight Extraordinary and now came to challenge him.

"Don’t be so proud, I can still fight!" Yi Xiaotian shouted, rolling forward and picking up the blade that had fallen to the ground, slashing diagonally towards the front.

The opponent was much stronger than he had anticipated, having taken several of his attacks and still acting like nothing had happened, seemingly like a monster or indeed a monster.

The opponent endured his ten full-force attacks, yet he couldn’t withstand even one; that one attack almost took his life, barely leaving him with any combat ability.

Though both were Tier Eight, their combat strengths were not on the same level; Wu Mouping’s physique was incredibly strong, having achieved complete dominance.

In an instant, Yi Xiaotian’s movements became even faster, faster than before, like a ghost appearing in front of Wu Mouping in the blink of an eye, and aimed a stab at his chest.

Wu Mouping sneered, filled with murderous intent: "You’re looking to die, kid!"

He left his defenses open, and with his left hand formed a fist to strike at Yi Xiaotian’s head, with a look of exchanging life for life.

Typically, people would dodge this kind of scene; after all, no one would be foolish enough to trade their life for their opponent’s.

But neither of them dodged, looking as if they were prepared for mutual destruction.

Getting close, Wu Mouping sidestepped skillfully, and with a kick sent Yi Xiaotian flying, while a long streak was left on his chest from the blade.

"Damn it, really a lunatic. Fang Muping, this guy in your squad doesn’t care about his life when fighting." Wu Mouping cursed loudly.

Faced with Yi Xiaotian’s attacks, he couldn’t completely ignore them either; those methods that could inadvertently break bones were equally brutal, and an ordinary Tier Eight Extraordinary would be done with just one hit.

"I lost." Yi Xiaotian sighed, lying on the ground: "But it’s not over; I will defeat you eventually."

Wu Mouping crossed his arms over his chest, responding with annoyance: "We’ve fought three times, and I’ve won all of them. There’s nothing left to fight for, just a waste of time. You’re not my match."

"If you want to beat me, start by beating your captain. He’s a former defeat of mine."

Fang Muping walked over from behind, rolling his eyes with irritation: "I vaguely remember beating you, right?"

Wu Mouping chuckled: "That was a long time ago. I can hardly remember. How about you?"

"It’s fresh in my memory." Fang Muping said expressionlessly.

Nearby, the medical personnel with white bandages on their shoulders quickly came forward to treat Yi Xiaotian once the fight ended, using a black ointment, but not the kind from the Doomsday Game. They had developed it themselves using plants that grew post-disaster.

This medicine they developed was very similar to a type of black ointment produced in the Doomsday Shop, which probably also stimulated the Extraordinary’s self-healing ability, making the injury heal faster.

Medicines from before the doomsday have little effect for Extraordinaries because their bodies inherently have a high resistance to drugs.

Yi Xiaotian climbed up from the ground, wearing a slightly displeased expression, saying: "You’ve just been an Extraordinary for longer; in some time, I’ll surely surpass you."

Wu Mouping shook his head and laughed: "You’re still far from it, kid. If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn’t need such effort."

Yi Xiaotian remained silent for a moment, then exhaled: "Indeed, I’m still quite weak. Mr. Su was right, I don’t count as an expert, not even halfway there."

Just as the competition between the two ended, a team member dressed in black combat gear quickly ran up,

"Captain Fang, there’s someone outside shouting that they want to enter our gathering place. But we’re on alert now, should we let them in?"

Fang Muping frowned: "Who comes in at this point?"

"An old man, dressed strangely like a robe, saying if we don’t let him in, he’ll break in later."

"Break in?"

"Yes, seems like a lunatic, but..."

The team member dressed in tight black showed a hesitant expression.

In this era, there are indeed many lunatics, but the ones who survive are often not simple.

Fang Muping didn’t pay much attention and waved: "Don’t let him in. No one is allowed during special times. That’s the rule; tell him to go to another gathering place."

His words had just ended when they heard a rather old voice from outside: "Your place is small, but there are quite a few rules."

An old man in a gray robe, with hair tied up, face wrinkled, climbed up from the edge of the high wall in a disheveled manner.

The sudden appearance of the old man startled Fang Muping and the others, making them step back two consecutive steps. They hadn’t noticed the old man’s approach at all, as if he had appeared like a ghost.

In a moment, hundreds of eyes focused on this side, and some armed team members even pointed their guns directly at the person who appeared unexpectedly.

Wu Mouping grinned, drawing a chef’s knife-like weapon from his waist: "If you trespass, even if we kill you, I doubt anyone would say anything."

The old man dusted off his clothes, took a couple of breaths, and his face flushed, as if he was quite exhausted:

"Meeting and wanting to kill, the hostility is too heavy. I just have some business and want to come in. You didn’t allow it, so I had no choice but to come in like this."

Wu Mouping saw that his attire was a bit strange and sensed a vague pressure, knowing the old man’s strength was surely not weak. Otherwise, he wouldn’t dare intrude here,

"What’s the matter, just say. If it’s a fight you want, I’ll fight you."

The old man looked at Wu Mouping and the others, appearing sluggish and slow, weak like he might fall just walking:

"Can you only fight and kill? Really reckless."

Wu Mouping couldn’t stand the old man’s slow tone and said irritably: "Just say what’s bothering you. We don’t have time to play around here."

"And of course, if you’re here to find death, that’s no problem either!"

He showed vicious intent in his eyes, his tone full of sharpness, having thoughts of killing the old man.
