"That’s horrible. So, does that mean aside from you, all the lords who surrendered their command can be considered completely wiped out?"
"You could say that."
"Hahaha, and you all were foolish enough to hand over your command."
It was hard to tell if Xiong Da was laughing out of exasperation or simply mocking their stupidity, but he burst into loud laughter.
His laughter made Zhao Tang and the others lower their heads in embarrassment.
"Brother Xiong, please stop laughing. We should hurry and retreat," Shi Min said, unable to take it anymore.
"Alright, I’ll stop laughing." Xiong Da’s smile vanished. "Let’s just wait a moment. We’ll take care of them, and then we’ll go."
Countless figures of cavalrymen emerged from the darkness behind them. Only then did everyone realize that the sound of hooves hadn’t faded—it had grown even louder.

Xiong Da roared. The Cavalry behind him charged even faster. They raised their sabers, the light of activated skills flaring from their bodies, their mounts, and their weapons as they rushed toward the huddled Heroic Guards.
"My brothers and I have been acting as bodyguards all month. We have to let our men blow off some steam. They’ve been bottling it up for so long, and if they don’t let it out, they’ll develop problems."
Xiong Da explained to the other lords.
Zhao Tang and the others stared blankly at the charging Cavalry, their vision filled with nothing but the powerful forms of the horsemen. Xiong Da’s explanation went in one ear and out the other.
Having spent a month with the Northern Expedition Legion, it wasn’t as if they’d never seen Cavalry before. But the sheer presence of the Xiong Family Cavalry completely shattered their expectations.
The Xiong Family Cavalry might have seemed fragile in the hands of the Druid Corps, but they were far from weak. Every single one of them was a Legendary Soldier.
However, their offensive and defensive skills were primarily physical. Their defense against Magic was merely average, which was why they were beaten half to death by the Druids, who specialized in Magic.
Now, they desperately needed a great victory to restore their confidence.
The tide of Cavalry forced the Heroic Guards to bunch together tightly, pouring every last bit of their energy into their defensive skills.
There was nothing for it. They couldn’t outrun the Cavalry, so their only hope was to withstand the charge.

The Cavalry didn’t attack the clustered Heroic Guards all at once. Instead, they swept past them, charging toward the Northern Expedition Legion soldiers rushing in from behind as reinforcements. Only the riders passing by struck at the guards.

The Cavalry swiftly charged into the soldiers still assembling in the rear and the incoming squads, unleashing a wave of slaughter.
Facing the frenzied charge of the Cavalry swarm, the hastily assembled soldiers were powerless to resist.
However, the Cavalry only rampaged through that one wave of reinforcements. They didn’t approach the main camp, nor did they continue their slaughter in the other encampments.
When they returned to the side of the four Xiong brothers, every one of them was soaked in blood.
Seeing the satisfied smiles on his cavalrymen’s faces, Xiong Da grinned happily as well.
"Let’s go. We can head back now. I wonder how their preparations are coming along!"
At the mention of the Druids in the rear, the cavalrymen’s smiles vanished. Everyone began an orderly retreat toward the vine-covered position.
