Chapter 339 - 278: Village Defense Battle (14)
It could sever the recovery of Spiritual Power inside and cut off the system’s communication functions.
It could even restrict the use of Spiritual Techniques.
Shirel was locked inside, along with 99 other Elves with low Obedience Levels.
The remaining Elves were all tied up outside the prison.
’Looks like I’ll need to expand the prison in the future and build a few more large ones.’
He entered the prison.
He walked up to Shirel’s cell.
Shirel was eating.
When the captured spoils of war were being sorted earlier, all the prisoners were crowded together.
Shirel’s face had been mostly hidden by her hair, and with the added dust and dirt, he hadn’t gotten a clear look at her.
Now, she had pushed her hair back and cleaned her face, allowing Zhao Chi to finally see her Appearance clearly.
’She really is beautiful.’
Her features were cold and stern, with blonde hair, green eyes, and very fair skin.
Her long legs, a characteristic feature of Elves, were pressed together, appearing exceptionally pale and delicate even in the dim light of the cell.
She wore a pale green elven dress.
Although Zhao Chi didn’t know much about clothing, he could tell the dress was quite valuable.
It was a little dirty now, but she wore it very neatly.
On her feet was a pair of Leather Boots with an unusual pattern, perhaps a design unique to the Elves.
Her expression was very cold.
But she was definitely what one would call an ice queen.
He could see she was starving; she was wolfing down her food, eating very quickly.
But when she saw Zhao Chi, she immediately slowed down.
It seemed she wanted to maintain her elegance in front of him.
"You wanted to see me?" Zhao Chi asked.
Shirel hadn’t finished chewing the food in her mouth.
She swallowed it forcefully, her eyes rolling back as she choked.
A few seconds passed before she could breathe a sigh of relief.
She stood up and approached him.
From behind the iron bars, she looked directly into Zhao Chi’s eyes.
She spoke arrogantly, "Yes, human commoner Lord. I wanted to see you."
"Well, now you have. Is there something you wanted to say to me? I see your Obedience Level is only 1. Are you dissatisfied with me about something?"
"Hah."
Shirel let out a disdainful laugh.
"Human commoner Lord, how could I possibly submit to you? You are not worthy! Since you’re here, allow me to reintroduce myself."
’She really is arrogant.’
Gu Qing frowned, her eyes showing clear displeasure.
Zhao Chi was also a little displeased, but he patiently asked, "Oh? And what’s your story?"
Shirel sneered. "Hmph, I am the fourth daughter of the Maple Family of Holy Tree City, Vice-Captain of the 7th Division of the City Security Army, and Knight Shirel Meloja!"
Zhao Chi and Gu Qing exchanged a glance.
Holy Tree City was very far away.
It was in the Tropical Zone.
Geographically, one would have to cross multiple cities and regions to get there.
Even with territory links, it would still be a long journey.
That area could be considered the main base of the Elf Race.
’What is this Shirel doing here?’
Seeing his lack of reaction, Shirel stressed again, "I am a noble of Holy Tree City! Knight Shirel Meloja!"
Zhao Chi said, "I heard you. Am I supposed to bow?"
Shirel frowned. "That won’t be necessary. I am a prisoner now, and you are the lofty victor."
"There’s a problem with what you just said. I was never your direct enemy, nor did we fight. I am not the victor, and you are not a prisoner. You are merely my spoils of war."
"Spoils of war? Hmph, what arrogant words. To think they came from the mouth of a commoner like you. You’re dead..." Shirel gritted her teeth.
Gu Qing took out her long needles and began selecting the most suitable one.
Zhao Chi said, "In other words... you’re a Lord from another city, not a Hero."
"Of course. Did you only just understand what I said? Do you only now realize my Identity?"
"That shouldn’t be... Then why do you have an Obedience stat? You’re a noble of the Elf Race?"
"I am a High Elf! Don’t you get it? And not just a noble, but a Knight."
"A High Elf?"
Zhao Chi sized her up again.
But aside from being prettier, he couldn’t see much difference between her and other Elves.
Her Attributes were indeed strong, though.
[Name] Shirel Meloja
[Race] High Elf
[Height] 170 cm
[Body Weight] 51 kg
[Appearance] 7 (Flower-like Face and Moon-like Beauty)
[Obedience] 1 (Arrogant and Domineering)
[Figure] 85D, 54, 87
[Constitution] 6 (Commendable)
[Power] 5 (Just Right)
[Agility] 7 (Extraordinary)
[Intelligence] 8 (Outstanding)
[Personality] Arrogant, Merciful
Her total Attributes added up to 26 points, 6 points higher than an Ordinary Elf.
Her Level and Combat Power weren’t high.
Based on the data, it did show she was a High Elf, but it didn’t reveal her Identity.
If she really was a noble, she must have been the well-protected type.
Like a flower in a greenhouse.
From the looks of her, she did seem like a pampered Noble Elf.
But if she was a Lord, why did she have an Obedience Level?
Lords in the Great World didn’t have their Obedience Level displayed.
Their Loyalty and Affinity weren’t visible either.
’Does this system have some extra detection ability for Elves?’
Zhao Chi wasn’t sure.
But it wasn’t important.
Zhao Chi asked, "You weren’t in Holy Tree City. What were you doing running around our Snowfield City?"
Shirel’s expression darkened. "We came to discuss trade, of course. You have Cold Ore here, which we don’t have, and we produce an abundance of Experience Fruit, which I imagine you don’t have much of. A trade agreement would be beneficial for both our sides."
"How did you get here? And who were you discussing a trade agreement with?"
"Through territory links, of course. Don’t you even know that? We came here to negotiate with your nobles, the Iron Blood Family."
"Then how did you end up being captured by those bandits?"
Shirel gritted her teeth. "We had just teleported here the afternoon before last when we were suddenly attacked. Those bandits were quite strong. We were surrounded and couldn’t win, so we had to abandon our territory and flee. But then we ran into that bastard Han’Er. If my Spiritual Power hadn’t been depleted and I wasn’t seriously injured, there’s no way he could have captured me!"
