Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress

’Ah, spring is here! The good times are here! The bread and beer are here!’

All this time, Liu Xingxing had never asked for much, nor had he ever told Li Ziyu about the state of his fortress. He believed that one day, Li Ziyu would see for himself whether his fortress was any good, and whether he himself was useful or not.

The Treasure-Hunting Catman Fortress was a castle of mechanisms. Its greatest feature was its ability to be fitted with all sorts of attachments and accessories. The front of its mechanical arms, for instance, could be equipped with shovelheads, pickaxe heads, spade heads, or even those "fist" attachments.

’And as for mechanical arms, who ever said he could only have one?!’

’For a mechanism-type castle, having eight or ten mechanical arms should be perfectly normal, right?’

In fact, Liu Xingxing’s list of unlocked buildings already included a host of accessories: mechanical arms of various sizes, wheels and treads for different terrains, mechanical spider legs, and even air cushions and thrusters for use on water.

The tragic part was, he had no resources. He could only stare at those accessories, practically drooling, but unable to do anything about it. He’d never mentioned any of this to Li Ziyu, unsure if his boss would even help him. He never imagined that today, the Boss would bring it up himself.

Li Ziyu grunted in acknowledgment, nodding. He clapped Liu Xingxing on the shoulder. "Xingxing, you need to step up. I’ll give you the resources, but you have to put them to good use, alright? You can’t just get chased around every time."

’Boss, you have to let me explain... It’s not like I want this to happen!’

Li Ziyu turned his head and saw the Catwoman Sisters, who were staring blankly, completely stunned.

The two of them had witnessed the entire battle. From the vicious Jackal Wolfmen and Kobolds, to the terrifying Skeleton Sea and Skeleton Ox Demon, to the towering fortresses crashing into one another—it had all left an incredibly deep impression on them, one they couldn’t yet process.

As Natives, the Catwoman Sisters were no strangers to battle and bloodshed; for the Natives of the Wasteland, such things were all too common. They had even secretly witnessed entire Tribes being annihilated. But this was different. This was a type of warfare they had never seen before, something that defied their understanding.

Leading a group of people into battle—that was understandable. But leading an entire city into battle? That was fucking incomprehensible.

Seeing the Catwoman Sisters in their stupor, Li Ziyu paid them no mind. He was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. Anything else could wait until he woke up.

With some effort, he had the Undead Fortress reactivate and return to its original position. He then told Tas Tuling and Mumu to lead their people out of the main building, and also notified Liu Xingxing to take the Catwoman Sisters with him for now.

The fortress returned to its original spot and entered Hibernation Mode. One by one, the buildings receded back underground, returning to the state the Minotaurs were familiar with.

The buildings had vanished, but the Undead remained to clean up the battlefield. Though they disliked the sunlight, the joy of collecting corpses made them tireless. Yes, they could manage.

By the time Zhang Peng returned, the platform had already been restored to an orderly state. He didn’t get to see Li Ziyu, but he found Liu Xingxing and the Catwoman Sisters.

"The Boss went to rest?" Zhang Peng asked when he saw Liu Xingxing.

Liu Xingxing was grinning from ear to ear, a sight that gave Zhang Peng the creeps. "The Boss went to rest," he said finally. "But before he did, he left a task for you: evaluate my fortress. He’s going to give me a batch of resources!"

’Oh, so the Boss approved more resources. No wonder this guy is smiling like an idiot.’ Zhang Peng nodded in understanding, then jutted his chin toward the Catwoman Sisters. "What’s with those two?"

Liu Xingxing shook his head, indicating he didn’t know either. "The Boss just told me to bring them out of the main building. He didn’t say what to do with them."

Zhang Peng observed the Catwoman Sisters closely and saw that they were still in a daze, clearly frightened. He sighed. "Alright, then. Let’s not worry about them. The Boss can deal with them tonight. Come on, let’s go check out your fortress."
