The Jackal Wolfman Fortress and Kobold Fortress were utterly destroyed, but the spoils were far less than last time. After all, their elite forces had been virtually annihilated in the last crushing defeat; otherwise, Li Ziyu wouldn’t have been able to take down the two fortresses so easily.
In the last battle, he had obtained over 8,000 Jackal Wolfman corpses, over 5,000 Kobold corpses, and over 3,000 Earth Wolf corpses. This time, he only got over 3,000 Jackal Wolfman corpses, though there were over 4,000 Kobold corpses and over 2,000 Earth Wolf corpses.
What surprised Li Ziyu was that he had also obtained the corpses of Ogres and Giant Monsters this time, though there weren’t many—only a dozen or so.
Both the Ogres and the Giant Monsters were behemoths summoned by the Jackal Wolfman Priests. Their combat power was not weak. Although they couldn’t compare to the Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors, one of these brutes could still easily take out dozens of Skeleton Undead.
Unfortunately, Benjamin had been scared out of his wits by the surprise attack and fled with Percy. Otherwise, if he had commanded his forces seriously, relying on the Jackal Wolfman Priests, he could have inflicted considerable casualties on Li Ziyu, even if he most likely would have been defeated in the end.
The basic combat force of Benjamin’s Jackal Wolfmen was composed of Wanderers, Jackal Wolfs, and the Jackal Wolfman Long Spear Team. These three unit types made up the vast majority of his army. In contrast, other soldier species like the Wolf Guard and the two types of Priests were few in number. The Priests belonged to Magic Professions, and their combined numbers were about the same as the number of Wolf Guards.
The Wolf Guard had been sent into the last battle and was all but wiped out fighting the Ox Demons, so this time, only the silhouettes of Priests were seen on the battlefield.
Li Ziyu analyzed the situation and basically figured it out. Benjamin had only introduced himself, but in reality, he was the City Lord of the Jackal Wolfman Fortress. The "foreigner" who died later was the City Lord of the Kobolds. Their situation was likely similar to his own—the two were in an alliance.
’Benjamin must have treated that "foreigner" as a subordinate, never bothering to introduce the poor bastard from beginning to end. Li Ziyu didn’t even know the Kobold City Lord’s name when he died. Mmm, a textbook case of a random nobody.’

Li Ziyu gave his pious thanks from the bottom of his heart. As the saying goes, the only good enemy is a dead enemy. They were foes in life, but that didn’t stop him from being grateful in their death.

Li Ziyu glanced at the system information, surprised to find that the decomposition prompts now included the soldier species’ names. Before, it would just say "Elite Jackal Wolfman" or "Elite Kobold," making it impossible to tell the specific unit types apart.
’It’s probably because of the recent system update. This is much more convenient. At least now I can see what exactly each soldier species decomposes into.’

For instance, the Jackal Wolfman Priests yielded 300 units of Soul Energy, the most Li Ziyu had ever seen from a single soldier species.
After tallying everything up, the haul wasn’t as large as last time, but he had still managed to get nearly 800,000 units of Soul Energy, which was a substantial amount. It made Li Ziyu sigh with heartfelt emotion: the development of the Undead Race was inseparable from war. The more they fought, the stronger they became. Without war, their pace of development would just stall.
The two battles against the Jackal Wolfman Fortress had yielded over 2.5 million Soul Energy, which was far more than the total amount he had obtained since he’d first transmigrated.

He had 1.6 million units of Soul Energy left over from last time, and now he had another 800,000. With 2.4 million Soul Energy on hand, he had enough to fund a major expansion.
This 2.4 million Soul Energy was the source of Li Ziyu’s confidence. When he recalled Benjamin mentioning the hundreds of thousands strong Cancerous Tumor Alliance Army, he felt a bit more composed.
He was well aware that even if he used all his Soul Energy to create powerful soldier species like Skeleton Longbowmen and Elite Heavy Hammer Skeleton Warriors, he still wouldn’t be able to produce that many.
But that didn’t matter. The Undead Mountain Range had Skeletons in spades. He could summon a massive Undead Army. The High Level Soldier Species would be responsible for dealing damage, and the rest could be left to the Low Level Skeleton Undead.
He would have to study how to allocate this Soul Energy and which soldier species to create more of.
