Chapter 753: World of Ashes
"Is it that deity on your shoulder who gave you confidence? Didn't It tell you that It can't come here?"
Ebertel withdrew his smile, staring into Lin Ye's eyes, trying to find a flicker of hesitation in them.
"Only an idiot would treat something placed right out in the open as their trump card."
Lin Ye smiled, releasing his sniper rifle as his hands fell naturally to his sides.
"There's no way you have any other tricks left. That 'thing' suppresses all power unrelated to it."
Ebertel refused to believe Lin Ye could still fight back under these circumstances.
"Have you ever considered one question? If this place is beyond the system's control, then doesn't that mean I'm no longer restricted by it either?"
Lin Ye leaned on a blood-red umbrella, its craftsmanship exquisitely fine, with traces of flowing crimson liquid still lingering on its surface.
"Hmph, stop bluffing. How could the system possibly restrict you?"
Ebertel threw the cage to the ground, crushing it under his foot.
"They're useless now."
Ebertel vanished from his spot, slamming a punch straight at Lin Ye's head.
Lin Ye couldn't dodge this punch, but the Flesh-and-Blood Treant on his shoulder suddenly exploded, blocking Ebertel's fist.
Ebertel quickly retreated, unwilling to make any contact with that deity.
Seizing the opportunity, Lin Ye unfurled the red umbrella.
His movements were incredibly slow, as if he weren't opening an umbrella but the entire world itself.
Abyssal Relic, Umbrella World.
Inside the red umbrella lay a blood-red sea. As he opened the umbrella, Lin Ye also unfolded the World of Ashes, and another red sea appeared at the top of the pipe.
Ash swirled. The flesh Ebertel had crushed from the cage reformed into complete humans, and along with Colt and the other two, Lin Ye swept them all into the World of Ashes.
After the Flesh-and-Blood Treant dissipated, Ebertel shot toward Lin Ye at a speed surpassing Lin Ye's reaction time, smashing him into scattering ash.
Massive amounts of ash gathered, forming one Alienated Body after another.
Blood rain fell from the sky. Lin Ye appeared behind those Alienated Bodies, holding the red umbrella, as gray-white mist rose from the ground. Amid the fog and rain, clusters of red flowers bloomed all around.
Ebertel vanished from his spot, once again blasting Lin Ye into ash. But the ash coalesced, and another Lin Ye instantly materialized not far away.
"I don't believe you can keep reforming!"
Ebertel continuously shattered Lin Ye into ash, but Lin Ye's reformation speed didn't slow down at all—in fact, there wasn't even a delay anymore.
"Is close combat the only thing you know? Even at a high rank like near-god, there are idiots like you?"
Lin Ye asked with some irritation.
Just from saying that line, he'd been blown apart a hundred times.
"Can't you see I've been destroying your special world this whole time? Why aren't you dead yet?!"
Ebertel couldn't figure out what was wrong. According to his calculations, Lin Ye's special world shouldn't have been able to withstand even a few punches.
"My special world? Are you talking about the Red Sea? Are you trying to shatter the Red Sea? If you really have that kind of power, I have to admit I've underestimated you."
Lin Ye twirled the red umbrella, smiling as Ebertel smashed him into ash.
"The Red Sea? I admit your special world has some connection to the Red Sea, but no one can use the Red Sea like this—not even borrowing it—unless you're a deity who rules over the Red Sea."
Ebertel didn't pause for a moment. As they spoke, he blew Lin Ye apart hundreds more times.
"I really can't control the Red Sea, but I have a piece of it, along with a fake Red Sea. By combining these two parts, plus a little simple technique, I can impersonate the Red Sea's deity."
Lin Ye was a legitimate deity with a divine seat and God's Blood. The moment he opened Umbrella World, he slightly grasped what a true deity truly meant.
Seated upon the divine throne, even the entire Plane would bow to him.
Even if it was just a fake plane.
"Don't bother lying to me. Only a fool would believe such nonsense."
Ebertel kept blasting Lin Ye apart. He had seen through Lin Ye's scheme—if Lin Ye really could use the Red Sea's power to regenerate, he could have simply worn him down instead of revealing it outright.
"Guess sincerity really is the ultimate killer move."
Lin Ye sighed.
He knew the other party wouldn't believe he'd told the truth.
"Ha, so what if you can use the Red Sea's power? I don't believe you can maintain this state forever, but I can keep going all day."
Ebertel showed no sign of stopping.
"If I really could use the Red Sea's power, how could you possibly attack me all day?"
Lin Ye suddenly reached out and grabbed Ebertel's fist.
"What did you do?!"
Ebertel tried to shatter Lin Ye but found his body resisting his will.
"If you knew what the Red Sea is, you should be able to figure out what I did."
Lin Ye was once again shattered into ash, but this time he finished his entire sentence.
"Impossible! Even if I go deep into the Red Sea, I won't be Alienated by it! Let alone in some low-level special world like this!"
Ebertel tried to move beyond the range of the World of Ashes, but blood rain and gray-white mist surrounded everything. No matter how fast he moved or how far he went, he couldn't escape.
And because he had chosen this location himself, he couldn't even leave through spatial items.
"...Who said this was the Red Sea?"
Lin Ye appeared behind Ebertel, asking with a smile.
"Didn't you say this was a fake Red Sea?!"
Ebertel turned and blasted Lin Ye apart, but Lin Ye instantly reappeared behind him.
"Are you an idiot? Even the dumbest enemy I've ever met wouldn't believe what I say. Information is the key to battle. Only idiots trust their enemy's words."
Lin Ye twirled the red umbrella. With each rotation, the interior of the umbrella transformed into a different scene.
There was the bottomless, inscrutable Abyss.
There was a sea filled with dark red liquid, roamed by deep-sea leviathans.
There was a gray world drifting with gray-white mist.
There was an emerald forest covered in all kinds of bizarre plants.
...
These fake Umbrella Worlds connected with the World of Ashes, providing it with characteristics and energy.
Not many people could use Umbrella World, an Abyssal Relic. Lin Ye happened to be one of them.
"...Do you think you've won?"
After forcibly blasting Lin Ye apart several hundred more times, Ebertel finally stopped. He could barely control his own body anymore.
"Of course I'm not that arrogant. You must still have a trump card you haven't used, right?"
Lin Ye walked up to Ebertel and plucked a blood-red flower from his body.
"...If you let me out, I won't use that trump card."
If he could leave this strange world, Ebertel was confident he could destroy it from the outside.
"Do I look like an idiot to you?"
Lin Ye looked at him with the eyes of someone staring at a fool.
