Chapter 521: Entering the Slave Trade Guild Headquarters. (Bonus Chapter)
Standing beneath a massive mountain and staring deep into the cave entrance that seemed to swallow the surrounding light, Thoren creased his brow for a moment before summoning five undead vanguards.
After questioning the souls of the two watch guards, he easily found the entrance to the Slave Trade Guild.
Previously, he had no intention of searching for the hideout of the Slave Trade Guild, as his main plan was to complete his trial and find the Blood Compass.
While also looking for clues relating to the Blood Ritual, the discovery of the two watch guards allowed him to change his plan on the fly.
Quickly, he commanded the undead Storm Tyrant and the undead Guild Captain to proceed forward while he had the undead Royalty stand beside him.
Lastly, behind him, the undead Garron and the undead Elite Jackal Beastman protected the rear.
With this formation in place, he proceeded deeper into the cave.
From what he learned from the watch guards, there were guards stationed inside the cave tunnels at regular intervals.
But to him, this was nothing.
With five powerful undead surrounding him, ordinary guards were incapable of posing any meaningful threat.
Swiftly, Thoren and his undead ventured deeper into the cave tunnel.
The deeper they went, the darker the surroundings became, with the faint light from outside quickly disappearing behind them.
The rough stone walls were covered with traces of old battles, while the occasional scorch marks and broken arrows revealed that this cave had been used as a defensive position for a long time.
Just as they reached the first fork, a sharp whistling sound suddenly tore through the darkness.
A wind blade attack roared toward them at frightening speed.
"Kill!"
Thoren commanded through his mental link.
Quickly, the undead Storm Tyrant and the undead Guild Captain moved at once toward the source of the attack.
Bang!
The undead Storm Tyrant raised his weapon and shattered the incoming wind blade.
The remaining fragments of wind scattered through the tunnel like sharp blades before disappearing into the darkness.
Whoosh!
Before they could even close the distance, a volley of arrows flew toward them.
The arrows tore through the air with frightening precision, each one aimed at a vital point.
Bang! Bang!
Fearlessly, the two undead destroyed everything in their path like walking tanks.
The Storm Tyrant swept his weapon through the incoming arrows, sending them flying into the stone walls, while the undead Guild Captain continued charging forward without slowing down.
In the distance, the two Slave Trade Guild guards were stunned.
"How is this possible?"
One of them stared in disbelief as his expression gradually became pale.
"Quick! Send the alarm!" the other shouted, his voice filled with panic and nervousness.
Both of them were Level 37, while one was a Wind Mage and the other was an Archer. Against their attacks, almost no one would dare confront them head-on.
Their combination was especially dangerous inside a narrow cave tunnel, where the Wind Mage could restrict movement while the Archer attacked from a safe distance.
Yet the two figures rushing toward them seemed to be completely ignoring their attacks.
Their expressions became increasingly horrified as the distance between them rapidly disappeared.
"Fall back!" The Wind Mage shouted as he hurriedly raised his hand.
Before the two guards could even react, they saw a massive hammer roaring toward them, breaking through the wind at an alarming speed.
The enormous weapon filled their vision.
Their pupils contracted.
Boom!
All the hair on their bodies stood on end as alarms screamed inside their minds.
Without hesitation or thinking, they followed their instincts and leaped to the side.
Boom!
The massive hammer crashed into the tunnel wall, shaking the entire cave violently.
Dust and debris scattered everywhere as cracks spread across the stone wall from the point of impact.
Escaping the attack did not give them even a moment to catch their breath, as they immediately sensed the presence of the two undead approaching them.
The two undead covered the short distance in a blink, appearing directly before the guards.
The undead Guild Captain raised its massive broadsword and brought it down without hesitation.
Whoosh!
The massive blade cut through the air with terrifying momentum, forcing the two guards to freeze for a brief second.
The archer desperately tried to reach for his bow, but it was already too late as the enormous blade appeared directly before his eyes.
[North Wind Barrier]
Suddenly, a thick and powerful wind shield appeared before them at the last possible moment.
Bang!
The massive blade struck the wind barrier and halted for a brief moment before countless spiderweb-like cracks spread throughout its surface.
’T-This...’
The Wind Mage could not believe his eyes.
This was one of his ace skills.
Every time he used the North Wind Barrier, he was confident that it could protect him and allow him to escape unscathed from even the most difficult situations.
But now, a single attack had almost shattered it completely.
His pupils contracted violently as disbelief filled his mind.
Instantly, a deep sense of urgency flooded his heart as he poured every ounce of his mana into maintaining the barrier.
The veins on his forehead bulged as he desperately struggled to reinforce the weakening defensive skill.
Bang!
Shattered.
Before the two guards could even breathe, a massive hammer descended from the side and slammed directly into the already cracked barrier.
The North Wind Barrier finally shattered into countless fragments of wind, scattering throughout the tunnel.
"Noooooo!"
The archer screamed as his face twisted with horror and despair.
Mercilessly, the undead Storm Tyrant kicked the archer directly in the chest, sending his body flying backward with tremendous force.
Ahhhhh!
Bang!
Before the scream could fully escape his throat, the massive hammer struck his head.
His skull was pulverized instantly beneath the overwhelming force and his body collapsed lifelessly against the ground.
Dead.
As for the Wind Mage, his fate was no different.
Before he could even cast his movement skill, the undead Guild Captain swung its massive broadsword.
Whoosh!
The enormous blade cleaved straight through his body, cutting him into two equal parts. Blood sprayed across the cold stone floor and walls as his body fell apart.
Thud!
The two halves of his corpse crashed heavily onto the ground, leaving a gruesome pool of blood beneath him.
Although the battle seemed to have taken a long time from the perspective of the two guards, the entire confrontation had lasted less than twenty seconds.
Twenty seconds was all it had taken to completely destroy two Level 37 guards.
With the two obstacles out of the way, the undead Guild Captain and undead Storm Tyrant continued venturing deeper into the tunnel while Thoren followed calmly behind them.
