Chapter 475: The Battle Had Just Begun
Like a moving mountain, the Horn Lizard King charged forward, throwing attacks in every direction.
Bang! Bang!
Undead servants were sent flying. Some flew through the air while others crashed heavily into the walls.
The violent impacts shook the entire King’s residence. By now, portions of the walls had already collapsed while large cracks spread across the remaining structures.
Dust and broken stones filled the air.
Yet the thunderous tempo of the battle continued to rise.
It only grew fiercer.
[Ancient Lizard Shattering Fist]
[Tail of Judgment]
[Royal Tyrant Claw]
He unleashed one skill after another without holding anything back. Every attack carried enough force to flatten buildings.
The shame of being wounded by a mere undead clouded his mind. His pride as the ruler of the Horn Lizard Clan had been trampled.
Right now, he wanted nothing more than to tear every undead and the human into pieces. Previously, he had only wanted to capture the human and force the undead servants to serve him.
But now, that thought had vanished completely.
Only rage remained.
Even though he was going all out, trying to reap through his enemies...
To his shock, the result he expected never appeared.
Every undead servant he sent flying came marching back and rejoined the battle as if nothing had happened to them.
Their hollow sockets continued to burn with eerie soul fire.
There was no fear.
No hesitation.
No pain.
’How could this be?’
’How could they withstand my full-powered attacks?’
’This is impossible!’
He screamed inwardly and his thoughts were in complete disarray.
Still, his battle instincts remained sharp. He reacted immediately instead of dwelling on the impossible sight before him.
’I don’t believe you can keep withstanding my attacks.’ He sneered.
His serpentine eyes burned fiercely with rage and determination.
Watching the devastating assault from the Horn Lizard King, Thoren’s expression did not change.
He had already expected this.
The Horn Lizard King would not be a Floor Boss if he did not possess such terrifying power. Every one of his attacks could easily kill an ordinary Level 39 awakener.
But Thoren also knew where his own advantage lay.
His advantage had never been the ability to unleash devastating attacks.
His greatest strength was the ability to overwhelm his enemies with an almost undying undead legion.
No matter how many times they were struck down.
They would stand up again.
They were fearless.
Death meant nothing to them.
They did not understand the concept of pain.
As long as their heads remained intact, they would continue fighting.
This was his greatest advantage.
His greatest confidence.
Whoosh!
From his undead space, he summoned the last five undead Shield Soldiers. As a precaution, he had never summoned all of his tank-type undead at once.
He always kept a reserve force. Now that the first squad was on the brink of destruction...
It was time to introduce the second squad.
More importantly, a new tactic had already formed in his mind.
Whoosh!
The surrounding space rippled once again. Quickly, twenty more undead Scorpion Men appeared inside the King’s residence.
Each of them was either Level 36 or Level 37.
The moment they appeared; the already crowded battlefield became even more suffocating.
Dense undead energy spread across the courtyard.
Sensing the new arrivals, the Horn Lizard King was shocked to his core and his eyes widened involuntarily.
’How could this be?’
The countless undead servants shattered everything he knew.
He simply could not understand how a single human could command so many undead servants.
Each one was powerful enough to make any ordinary clan surrender, losing their will to fight. And yet, he had dozens of them.
Whoosh!
Bang!
Slash!
"Augh!"
A miserable scream escaped from the Horn Lizard King. His momentary loss of focus had cost him dearly.
He staggered backward; his face contorted in pain. A deep gash appeared across his shoulder with fresh blood gushing out for a brief moment before gradually slowing.
Then, to Thoren’s surprise, the wound began healing at a visible speed.
The torn flesh wriggled together, and the bleeding stopped almost instantly.
’T-This...’
Thoren stared at the rapidly healing wound and a faint smile appeared on his lips.
’Interesting.’
Such terrifying regenerative ability would have driven many people into despair. But to him, it was simply interesting.
The stronger his enemy, the greater the reward after victory.
’Let’s see which is faster.’
’My undead attacks...’
’Or your healing ability.’
The smile on his face deepened slightly.
"Human...I underestimated you. But I won’t make the same mistake again." The Horn Lizard King’s voice became grave.
There was no trace of his earlier arrogance.
He was not a fool.
He had already noticed that every undead attacking him was armed to the teeth. Each wore superior armor.
Most of his attacks were either deflected or greatly weakened by their equipment.
That alone shocked him.
Where had this human obtained so many Peak Bronze Grade weapons and armor?
Even his own clan did not have a single Bronze Grade equipment. Yet, a single human had so many and worse, he dare gave them to his undead servants.
Slowly, the aura surrounding him grew stronger and stronger. This was an aura that belonged to an apex predator. Not only that, but it was also an aura that belonged to royalty.
A king.
Against such aura, any lesser or weaker creature would do nothing but surrender their will. And with each passing second, the aura pressed downward like an invisible mountain.
The entire King’s residence began trembling under the overwhelming pressure. Some lower-level undead servants immediately showed signs of slowing.
Their bones creaked under the immense pressure.
Seeing this, Thoren’s expression remained calm.
[Awakened Soul]
Boom!
An overwhelming soul aura erupted from Thoren’s body as an invisible spiritual pressure surged outward in every direction.
The pressure from the Horn Lizard King was instantly met head-on and the two terrifying auras collided violently in midair.
Boom!
The entire King’s residence shook violently while the surrounding air distorted under the clash of the two invisible forces.
The weaker undead servants immediately regained their momentum.
Their soul fire burned even brighter than before.
Standing at the center of the battlefield, Thoren calmly met the Horn Lizard King’s gaze.
The corners of his lips curled upward ever so slightly.
The real battle had only just begun.
