There’s no other choice, during the writing of this book, I’ve experienced major life events like getting married, switching careers, and now entering the stage of having kids, with constant minor and major health issues in between, so my state hasn’t been the best. The stability this month was probably because my wife got pregnant so I finally don’t have to do any chores around the house.

Let’s talk about the direction of the book’s development. I’m sure readers have noticed by now that the storyline has come to a point where the long Japan Zone National War has actually ended. Indeed, the Japan Zone National War spanned over 400 Chapters, taking up one-third of the entire book, which is regrettable.

Yes, it’s regrettable. Honestly, my biggest takeaway is that these days, you really can’t criticize Japan, as an entertainment literature writer that’s asking for trouble. On one hand, there are too many domestic hit dramas, and audiences are already weary of Japan-bashing. On the other hand, it’s truly terrifying that nowadays, teenagers from middle school and up have three major hobbies: Japanese anime, South Korean boy bands, and LOL (League of Legends)!

Regarding this second point, I specifically consulted a kid from my relatives’ home, as I wanted to know whether today’s middle schoolers still love fantasy genres, but the result was indeed this — it’s the same school-wide. Especially the multi-talented middle-schooler from my wife’s aunt’s house, who’s particularly skilled at drawing, is fanatically obsessed with warship girls. He even came out with a sentence saying Japanese warship names are beautiful, while Chinese warships like "Guangzhou Ship" and "Kunming Ship" sound unbearably rustic. This left me speechless, as I’m a military enthusiast myself, but his knowledge of weaponry has already outdone mine.

This is just the situation with the middle schoolers in the county I live in, so what about those in big cities with broader worldviews? Who would dare underestimate today’s middle schoolers? Their intellect is no longer easily swayed by ordinary online novels. This has completely dashed my thoughts of writing fantasy.

I am quite lost about the future. However, let’s not talk about the future for now. First, I need to earn enough money for my wife and child’s milk powder. There’s at least half a year until the child is born, so I will continue to write for at least another six months. The six months after the child’s birth are bound to be exhausting, leaving no time and energy for planning a new book.

So, if readers don’t mind this book being long, God-level Hero will be with you for another year. What’s likely to follow is the grand New World. I’ve always been considering a plot about a Taiwanese youth "desperately wanting to become Japanese" and being set straight by Brother Fei — an idea that even makes me laugh. But I’m frightened now, this isn’t like the freewheeling days of writing substitution roles. Oh, where to go from here?
