Suddenly, Carlos felt a strong gust of wind flash past him, and a familiar figure appeared by his side.

"Hello there. It’s been a while, hasn’t it, Young Master Carlos?" Adam greeted him with a bright, amiable smile.

Even if he were turned to ashes, he would never forget this voice.

This was the man he dreamed of slaughtering with his own two hands. But right now, he absolutely couldn’t.

"Oh, it’s you, Brother Wilford! Why are you here?!" Carlos wore an expression of sheer terror, he was genuinely terrified out of his mind.

"Why am I here? Don’t you know exactly why I am here?" Adam teased mockingly.

Carlos’s heart jolted violently, and his face turned deathly pale. However, he bit the bullet and forced himself to say, "How would I know? Brother Wilford, my ship just happened to be sailing past here."

"Young Master Carlos, are you still going to stubbornly deny it even now?" Adam sneered.

"I really don’t know what you’re talking about, Brother Wilford, why don’t we..."

Adam violently cut Carlos off, staring at him with a face full of furious anger. "Is that so? You’re the one who hired those people, aren’t you?!"

Adam abruptly grabbed Carlos’s shoulder. In the next instant, the two vanished, reappearing directly on the deck of Adam’s Spirit Ship.

Back on the deck they had just left, the Deep Clan guards looked at each other in utter dismay, among them were several formidable experts at the Fourth Heaven of the Deity Realm, yet not one could muster the courage to resist.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about, Brother Wilford! Why don’t we turn our weapons and make peace?"

Carlos’s heart was consumed by full-blown panic, but his mouth still stubbornly tried to maintain the facade.

"Your Deep Clan literally colluded with pirates to deal with me, yet you still want to turn weapons and make peace, isn’t that a bit too naive?" Adam’s mouth curled into a mocking sneer.

"Brother Wilford, we can talk this out! Why don’t we sit down and have a proper discussion?" Cold sweat poured down Carlos’s forehead.

"Young Master Carlos, you only know fear now? It’s too late!" Adam swung his sword, Carlos’s body crashed heavily to the deck, violently coughing up fresh blood.

Adam had directly crippled Carlos’s cultivation.

As for the others, Adam knocked them out one by one, Carlos and his men couldn’t die just yet, they still held massive exploitation value.

When the time came, Adam might not even need to act personally.

This was definitely not the first time the Deep Clan had colluded with pirates.

Otherwise, the pirates wouldn’t have received his intel so quickly, the other major families in Hundred Rivers City absolutely wouldn’t let the Deep Clan off the hook.

When the Deep Clan fell, he would be taking the lion’s share of their accumulated wealth.

He had Cecilia move everyone onto a single ship. Adam then laid down a formation, these people would remain unconscious until he manually dispelled it.

The ship itself would also be thoroughly concealed.

Adam couldn’t possibly bring these people to his newly developed island.

Doing so would risk exposing the Spirit-Forsaken Land, the fewer people who knew about it, the better.

After resolving this minor interlude, Adam and Cecilia resumed their journey toward their target coordinates.

Along the way, the two enjoyed the tranquil time at sea, chatting about future plans and expectations.

Adam also recounted his past experiences to Cecilia, detailing the events in the Spirit-Forsaken Land and the numerous spirit mines.

"What?! Young Master, there are that many spirit mines there?!" Cecilia’s small, disguised face was filled with utter shock, based on his description, she didn’t even dare imagine how obscenely wealthy her family would be once the spatial passage was opened.

"That’s right, but it’s very bizarre, I still don’t know why people can’t cultivate there." Adam told Cecilia now because she would inevitably find out once they opened the Spirit-Forsaken Land.

Cecilia shook her head, she couldn’t figure it out either.

Adam didn’t dwell on it. In his previous life, there were scientists who dedicated their lives to studying the mysteries of the world.

But in this world, there didn’t seem to be any spirit-scientists, most research was singularly focused on growing stronger, it seemed no one had ever truly researched the fundamental nature of the world itself.

A day later, Adam and Cecilia had just finished dinner and were preparing to enjoy the sunset.

However, the sea before them was abnormally tranquil, so vividly, startlingly blue that it looked like a perfect, unblemished mirror.

They instantly grew highly vigilant, something’s wrong, even without a single breeze, the ocean surface shouldn’t be this calm, furthermore, it was dusk, the color of the sea shouldn’t look like this at all.

"Be careful." Adam steered the ship to a halt and pulled out the sea chart, after confirming their coordinates, he verified they hadn’t strayed off course.

"Young Master, there’s a small island ahead." Cecilia suddenly pointed forward.

"An island? That shouldn’t be right. There aren’t supposed to be any islands in this sector!" Adam furrowed his brows, his heart swelled with caution. After two days of tranquility, a situation had finally arisen.

With the Heaven and Earth Upheaval, fortuitous encounters continuously surfaced across the continent, and various secret realms emerged endlessly, logically, the same should hold true for the vast oceans.

"Young Master, should we approach it?" Cecilia asked, her face grave, anyone would feel apprehensive encountering such an anomaly on the open sea.

"No, turn the ship around, we’ll detour around this entire sector." Adam shook his head. Curiosity killed the cat.

Although that small island might harbor a massive fortuitous encounter, his primary mission was to clear the passage to the Spirit-Forsaken Land.

"Yes, Young Master!" Cecilia nodded and immediately began assisting Adam in turning the ship around.

But before they could complete the turn, the entire Spirit Ship was suddenly gripped by a colossal, irresistible suction force, dragging it violently toward the small island.

"Damn it!" Adam cursed furiously, spiritual energy surged from his body, and countless formations materialized all over the Spirit Ship, these were the emergency defensive formations he had prepared in advance.
