Chapter 175
Wait a minute.
Could the rumors be false? Had the Book Saint actually been hiding inside this tomb all along, surviving until this very day?
But why would the Book Saint pull him into the formation?
Furthermore, this azure-black mist felt utterly overflowing with an ominous aura.
The more Adam thought about it, the more his blood ran cold.
No. I can’t just sit here and wait for death.
Adam swept a glance around, the surroundings were entirely filled with azure-black mist, every direction looked exactly the same.
At a time like this, he had to rely on his intuition.
Luckily, his intuition had always been excellent.
Omniscience of All Things!
Adam closed his eyes, paused slightly, and then took a step forward.
He walked straight into the azure-black mist.
Omniscience of All Things would guide him toward the path of survival.
He didn’t know how long had passed.
Adam had no idea where he had walked either, he only felt the mist growing thicker and thicker, even a thin layer of azure-black sludge had condensed onto his Indestructible Golden Body.
It was extremely disgusting.
Adam frowned, circulating his power, he gave a violent shake, and the sludge was entirely cast off. However, it didn’t fall to the ground. Instead, it reverted back into a gaseous state and merged into the mist.
Squish.
Adam suddenly felt he had stepped on something.
It was slippery and thin.
It felt like... a layer of skin.
Adam abruptly crouched down, and a ball of divine fire appeared in his hand, scattering the azure-black mist around him.
His pupils violently contracted. It really was a human skin.
It was completely shriveled, devoid of even a trace of flesh or blood, without the slightest tear.
The only blemish was a long slit down the back, as if someone had slashed him from behind and extracted the entire skin whole.
Adam’s expression turned solemn, he shook off the sludge from the human skin, his brows furrowed tightly.
Because he recognized this person.
It was one of the people who had been flying in the sky earlier, standing at a key position on a formation core.
His strength was absolutely that of a Mortal Supreme.
Yet now, he had been skinned alive and discarded here like trash.
The sense of crisis in Adam’s heart grew even heavier.
Taking a deep breath, he continued walking forward.
At the center of the azure-black mist.
There was a dilapidated Dao platform. It wasn’t tall, only about two feet high, but its surface area was large, roughly the size of a standard room.
Two men and two women stood upon it.
All four wore expressions of sheer terror.
Nine of them had entered together, but by the time they reached here, only four remained.
The other five had vanished without a trace.
Even though they had been holding hands, people still disappeared suddenly. They didn’t even have a method to fight back.
They had finally reached the center of the formation.
Unfortunately, Aaron Solar, the one who understood formations best among them, had already vanished.
"Is this the formation core? What should we do now?" Alice’s voice trembled slightly. she tightly gripped the hand of her clan’s Dao Child.
They were very lucky, both of them were still here.
"Elder Alice, even you people from the Heavenly Void Mystic Realm don’t know! We from the outside world, where spiritual energy is exhausted, know even less!" The expert from the Celestial Mandate Dynasty was deathly pale.
He was the strongest military general in his dynasty, right now, he would rather face an entire enemy army by himself than die an inexplicable death here.
"That’s right, Elder Alice, quickly think of a way!" the expert from the other faction urged.
"What can I do?! If I had a way, would I be asking you two useless men?!" Alice scolded angrily.
"Umm... should we try destroying this Dao platform?" a fearful yet coquettish voice sounded out.
It was the female Dao Child behind Alice.
The three elders pondered for a moment, it seemed this was their only option.
"I’ll go first!"
Divine light erupted from the military general’s arms, and he violently smashed his fist into the Dao platform beneath their feet.
RUMBLE!
A deafening roar erupted.
A large hole was smashed into the platform, the azure-black stone slabs shattering into powder.
But in the very next second, countless wisps of azure-black mist swirled toward the hole, filling it right back up.
Everything was completely restored.
Everyone was stunned.
"I don’t believe this!"
The military general threw several more punches in rapid succession, smashing several large holes into the platform.
But just as quickly, they were restored by the azure-black mist.
"What are you standing there for? Smash it together! With four of us, it definitely won’t recover in time!" the military general roared.
The four immediately circulated their divine abilities and began bombarding the platform.
But it was exceptionally sturdy, even giving it their all, they could only create large craters, which were then rapidly restored by the mist.
"Just what is this mist?! Let’s stop for now. If we exhaust our spiritual qi, our situation might become even more dangerous." Alice Bloom felt extremely frustrated.
"Dao Child, give me a Spirit Nurturing Pill. I need to recover some spiritual qi."
The Dao Child ignored her.
"Dao Child? Give me a Spirit Nurturing Pill!"
She turned around, looked at the Dao Child’s silhouette in the mist, and reached out to pull her.
But the silhouette was pulled over effortlessly.
Why is it so light?
Alice Bloom frowned, but in the next second, her hair stood on end.
Because what she held in her hand was a human skin.
The Dao Child’s human skin.
Before she could even scream, a dark shadow appeared exactly where the Dao Child’s silhouette had been.
The dark shadow violently lunged toward her.
It was an old man, a terrifyingly eerie old man.
His hair and beard were completely white, his eyes were sluggish and vacant, and his skin was deeply wrinkled.
But what was even more horrifying was that the skin all over his body was sagging loosely, far looser than that of any normal elderly person.
It looked as if his skin had been draped over a body it didn’t belong to!
