Chapter 306
From deep within the white mist, the roar of a ferocious beast rang out again. Adam and Cecilia both furrowed their brows, within this mist, they weren’t the only living beings.
The space seemed endless, at the very least, they couldn’t see the end of it.
The mist itself seemed made of an unknown substance, Adam reached out and brushed it lightly, feeling a slight, stinging sensation.
"Young Master, should we continue forward?" Cecilia asked cautiously, they had ventured into the white mist initially to break the deadlock, but now that the Grand Flame Dao Talisman had taken effect, the urgent need to push forward had subsided.
"No rush, let’s wait and see!" Adam shook his head.
"That thing, whatever it is, seems to be avoiding the sword qi as well, this indicates its strength isn’t higher than the sword qi, otherwise, it wouldn’t need to hide."
"So it’s possible we can handle it, since we’ve come all this way, we can’t return empty-handed!"
Wealth and glory are found in the midst of danger.
"Alright, Young Master!" Cecilia nodded, she trusted Adam unconditionally.
The two walked slowly into the depths of the white mist, after about half an hour, they still couldn’t see the end, it felt as if this space was boundless, only the occasional roar, sounding sometimes near and sometimes far, made them feel like they were actually moving.
"Young Master, we’ve walked for so long and nothing has changed, could this be the same situation as the previous restriction?" Cecilia couldn’t help but ask, she felt like she had been walking for ages, yet nothing had altered.
"I don’t know, it might be the same, or we haven’t found the correct route yet." Adam frowned, this was indeed similar to the previous restriction, he didn’t know what strange habits the tomb’s master had, constantly setting up these brain-teasing restrictions.
"Let’s walk a little further." Adam didn’t want to give up yet, he continued navigating through the misty space, a strange feeling tugging at his heart, deep within the white mist, something seemed to be waiting for him.
Just like that, they continued through the mist, as if wandering through an endless labyrinth, only the beastly roars accompanying them.
There were several times when the shadowy figure came extremely close, its terrifying roars sounding as if right next to their ears, yet the shadow never actually appeared before them.
They maintained calm and vigilance the entire time, in this kind of environment, even the slightest carelessness could lead to eternal damnation.
Time lost its meaning within this misty space, they didn’t know how long they had been walking, they only knew they had to keep moving forward.
However, just as they were about to lose patience, a faint glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead.
"Young Master, look!" Cecilia pointed forward in pleasant surprise, her eyes sparkling with hope.
Adam also saw that trace of light, his heart stirred, and he immediately pulled Cecilia along toward the source of the glow.
They carefully passed through layers of white mist and finally arrived at the source, there stood a massive stone platform, embedded in it was an ancient and strange sword, its blade had a reddish hue and emitted a faint white mist.
Surrounding this sword were countless streaks of sword qi, forming a gigantic vortex.
"This... so this entire expanse of white mist was born because of this sword." Cecilia exclaimed, finally understanding the origin of the mist.
Adam nodded, looking at the sword, he realized that the inexplicable feeling in his heart was triggered by this very weapon.
The blade was curved, both edges carved with serrated sword teeth, he could feel the formidable aura radiating from it, a power that made one’s heart palpitate in fear.
"Young Master, the grade of this sword is so high!" Cecilia had sensed that mighty aura and couldn’t help but speak up, as a sword cultivator, she was naturally sensitive to swords.
"Indeed!" Adam took a deep breath, his Omniscience of All Objects actually couldn’t see through the structure of this sword.
Its grade was absolutely not lower than the Yellow Emperor’s Sword, and very few swords in this world weren’t inferior to the Yellow Emperor’s Sword.
"Furthermore, I feel an inexplicable connection with this sword." Adam’s eyes flickered, a strong urge surging in his heart to grasp the weapon.
"Young Master, are you saying this sword is waiting for you?" Cecilia looked at him in astonishment, she could sense the seriousness and anticipation in his voice.
Adam nodded, he had a strong premonition that he shared an unbreakable bond with this sword.
He slowly walked toward it, every step seeming unusually heavy, because he possessed the Grand Flame Dao Talisman, the sword qi vortex actually parted to make way for him.
When he finally reached the sword, he reached out and gently gripped its hilt.
Instantly, tremendous power surged from the sword into his body, his spiritual energy churned wildly, as if about to burst out of his flesh.
The blade simultaneously erupted with a crimson glow, and the white mist instantly turned blood red.
Seeing this, Cecilia hastily stepped forward, watching Adam nervously, terrified that some accident might happen.
Adam’s face contorted in pain.
Ominous, this sword was an object of great malice, its blade contained a terrifying intent of slaughter.
For a brief moment, Adam’s mind was nearly wiped out by this slaughtering intent, he almost turned into a monster that only knew how to kill.
Fortunately, Adam possessed the Supreme Sword Controlling Technique, coupled with his natural understanding of artifacts, he quickly regained his senses.
After a long time, Adam finally let go of the hilt, he took a deep breath, his eyes flashing with excitement.
He felt like he knew what this sword was called, however, he couldn’t wield it yet, even forcefully controlling it with the Supreme Sword Controlling Technique, he still couldn’t use it normally.
Because unlike the Yellow Emperor’s Sword, its nature was not gentle, this sword was an object of great malice, with his current strength unable to master that slaughtering force, he couldn’t fully unleash the sword’s true might!
