Chapter 111
[Pure-blooded Kunpeng no longer exist in the Exalted Continent, but the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan remains here in large numbers.]
[They are primarily distributed across the Great Desolate Beast Domain.]
[Located roughly twelve domains from Black Dragon Mountain.]
[Residual Kunpeng bloodline within the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan is an indisputable fact.]
[This branch of Sky Sparrows was abandoned in the Exalted Continent by the Kunpeng Beast Clan a million years ago.]
[Very few are aware of the connection.]
Soren had no idea the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan was a Kunpeng line with most of its blood essence stripped out.
The Exalted Continent was like that, an immemorial war tore through here once, countless texts, records, and lands of fortune burned with it, outside their own internal histories, the four major races knew next to nothing about anyone else’s deep secrets.
In Beast Continent, where the Kunpeng still lived, this might be common knowledge, here it was a bombshell.
[The Kunpeng Beast Clan severed all ties with the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan a million years ago.]
[Through long evolution, the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan absorbed new bloodlines and built a distinct tribal civilization.]
[Master must not underestimate the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan of the Exalted Continent.]
[They are the ones guarding the secrets of the Kun-Heaven Nether Sea.]
[The Kun-Heaven Nether Sea is regarded as a myth even by the main lineage of the Kunpeng Beast Clan, because they lost the Kun-Heaven Nether Pearl during the Immemorial War.]
[Losing the pearl cost them the spatial coordinates to the entrance.]
[In the countless millennia since, the Kunpeng Beast Clan of Beast Continent has thrown nearly all its manpower at the search. A million years, and they have found neither pearl nor entrance.]
[The precise coordinates to the entrance happen to be safeguarded by the Sky Sparrow Beast Clan of the Exalted Continent.]
Soren narrowed his eyes, the heavens weren’t treating him poorly.
Calling his luck off the charts wouldn’t be an overstatement, the pearl and the coordinates the Kunpeng had chased for a million years dropped into his lap inside a week.
Most of the credit went to the Strategy Encyclopedia.
The information wasn’t inherently secret, it had simply been lost on this continent for a million years, and he’d pulled it straight back out.
One thing still nagged, why hadn’t the Kunpeng come to the Exalted Continent looking?
[The Sky Sparrow Beast Clan is a demoted branch severed from the Kunpeng Beast Clan. They hold no core secrets or supreme treasures of the main clan by right.]
[The Sky Sparrows’ acquisition of the coordinates was purely accidental.]
[The reason can therefore be summarized as follows:]
[The Kunpeng Beast Clan was eager to make a clean break from the Sky Sparrows.]
[They never imagined a branch lineage could hold the coordinates and the key to the Kun-Heaven Nether Sea.]
[The Sky Sparrow Clan retains a fraction of Kunpeng bloodline, but suffered centuries of unfair treatment from the main clan, which left them unwilling to return as vassals.]
[The Sky Sparrow Clan has also been quietly searching for the Kun-Heaven Nether Pearl.]
[Their objective is to monopolize the benefits of the Sea of Origin.]
[Seizing the destiny of the Sea of Origin and refining the energy within it could shatter their chronic bloodline bottlenecks and realm limitations.]
[They could evolve into a new race, distinct from the Kunpeng Beast Clan, and rival the Immemorial Kunpeng in bloodline potency and combat strength.]
Soren closed the panel and put the Kun-Heaven Nether Pearl away.
The Great Desolate Beast Domain, worth a trip.
He never sat on decisions, he got ready to leave at once and took Bruce with him.
Before they set out, Orathis limped back from wherever the kick had sent him.
Soren told him to guard every blade of grass on Black Dragon Mountain and watch for distress signals from Ethel and Arnold.
He was about to leave when Victoria arrived.
Her arrival pulled every eye on Black Dragon Mountain, not just the people, the grass and trees seemed to lean toward her.
That figure, that presence, color drained from the world around her.
Lysara and Celeste watched the elegant shape descending from the sky and felt something press on their chests.
Terrifying.
Lysara, who lowered her head for nobody but Soren, dropped her eyes and doubted herself.
Celeste, bright and playful ten seconds ago, pushed her lips out and went quiet.
If those two felt it, the rest of the women on Black Dragon Mountain were wailing at the heavens, faces full of envy.
This wasn’t even their first look at the Grand Mistress.
Victoria walked down through the void, ripples of demonic energy spreading beneath each step.
She narrowed her eyes, leaned in, sniffed Soren’s clothes, then straightened and looked at Celeste, her voice came out wrapped in demonic energy, light as anything.
"Oh my"
"You’ve got yourself a new woman already?"
"No wonder you haven’t contacted me in so long."
"Don’t tell me the new flame made you forget the old love?"
Sourness lined her voice, it didn’t sound like real anger.
Soren pulled her in against him without effort.
Victoria went red on the spot, like he’d stepped on her tail, she didn’t dare move, every eye on the mountain was on them.
Her head spun, special title lit up, absolute affection for him, and she still went bashful in front of an audience.
That contrast was what Soren liked best, shy in public, another thing entirely in private.
What are you doing... let go, and watch your hands.
It’s fine if you want to hold me, just keep the hands still.
Too easy to tease, so he pushed further, Victoria took fright and stepped back, salvaging her composure and his dignity in one move.
She carried on as though none of it happened. "I came suddenly because I have a gift for you."
Soren could hear her heart going like a war drum, his face gave away nothing. "A gift?"
Victoria nodded. "Black Dragon Mountain is surrounded by three major domains, my Violet Jade Immortal Domain, the Moonveil Human Domain, and the Sword Will Demonic Domain."
"The Violet Jade Immortal Domain is mine, and now that it’s integrated with the Endless Demonic Domain, there’s nothing to worry about there."
"I heard you went to the Moonveil Human Domain two days ago, secured the territory and broke through to the Ancestor Realm while you were at it."
