Chapter 87
"Once it materializes, it grants a physical enhancement dozens to a hundred times over! Speed and strength both take a qualitative leap!"
"Which means Great Emperor Neal’s combat power won’t be beneath a Lower-Tier Ancestor Realm, at least for a while!"
"Hahaha, wonderful! And that’s not all!"
"The Dragon-Piercing Halberd in his hand is a supreme treasure from an ancient ruin, a genuine Upper-Tier Emperor-grade weapon!"
"I heard its previous owner used it to kill dozens of Emperor-realm Spirit Dragons! It absorbed their Spirit souls and dragon pearls and turned bloodthirsty and powerful!"
"So it’ll boost Great Emperor Neal’s strength several times over on its own!"
"Barring surprises, we’re about to see the legendary ultimate move, Dragon-Piercing Strike!"
"Tsk. Neal in the Myriad Spirits Battle Armor is boundlessly strong, he can crush that demon without ever needing the Dragon-Piercing Strike!"
"Ah? You mean we won’t get to see the legendary move?"
"That move is enough to move mountains and fill seas, using it on a little Demon Emperor is firing a cannon at a mosquito, Great Emperor Neal, kill him quick!"
"Great Emperor Neal, bring glory to our human race!"
"Glory to our human race!"
Lysara’s brows drew together, she swung her sword straight at the crowd sitting helpless on the ground.
Neal lifted his wrist, Imperial might descended, sealing the heavens and locking the earth.
The aura was more berserk than when Soren had unleashed his Upper-Tier Demon Emperor realm, spreading across a hundred thousand miles.
Lysara’s attack shattered in an instant, pinned by the coercion, she and Basil couldn’t move.
Neal’s pressure neatly bypassed the cultivators feeding him spiritual energy.
With another wave a six-sided formation materialized, shielding them inside, the black-robed man not included.
Sitting cross-legged inside that thick formation, the cultivators felt an indescribable security.
Now they could watch without fear of crossfire.
By everyone’s reckoning, Soren wouldn’t last more than a few seconds.
The black-robed man retreated a short way, mouth twitching into a cold sneer. "The method’s reckless, but it did grant him a real boost."
"Since he isn’t spending his own spiritual energy and soul power, only supplying willpower, he won’t take much backlash, all of it stacks onto the people feeding him."
"It’d be nice if he just took Soren down directly, save me a great deal of effort."
Neal leveled the Dragon-Piercing Halberd at Soren, gaze sinister, unable to hide his delight.
"Eradicating demons is the duty of us human cultivators! Since a fiend like you rushed out to court death, I’ll send you on your way!"
"Remember this in your next life, never be born a demon again, otherwise I’ll kill you every time I see you."
"Fiend, die!"
Neal thrust into the void, spiritual energy erupted from the halberd, and wherever it passed, space twisted into braided knots.
First time Soren had seen a human cultivator distort the air that badly with a casual release, lifted by the armor and halberd, Neal really had reached strength close to a Lower-Tier Ancestor, Soren didn’t panic.
He’d unleashed his Upper-Tier Demon Emperor cultivation, but no one had forced him all out.
When he shattered the Heaven-Burying Demon-Locking Bell, he’d used maybe three-tenths.
At full power, even a genuine Lower-Tier Ancestor would kneel, never mind that Neal wasn’t a real one.
One punch obliterated the halberd’s distorting force, he teleported right in front of Neal.
Neal swung the halberd, only a few meters off, it whipped up a dense spiritual gale, a barrier like a protective astral membrane.
Soren’s fists rained down, every collision left spiderweb cracks in the air with a caved-in crater at the heart.
The fractured craters hung in the sky and refused to fade, the crowd could peer through them at the eerie space flowing with strange energies behind.
His punches grew more brutal and rapid, the craters kept expanding.
One meter, then ten, then a hundred.
A single punch left a thousand-meter abyss in the sky, space shattering like glass and raining down.
The crowd watched in dead silence, cold sweat on their brows.
At first Neal could rely on the halberd to raise a membrane and block.
As Soren kept escalating, he couldn’t defend, his swings were far slower than Soren’s fists.
In a dozen-odd seconds the fight went from seemingly even to a one-sided beating.
Soren’s fist pressure kept climbing, a bottomless black hole always trying to break its own ceiling, every punch carried a different level of power, the next guaranteed stronger than the last.
Neal was helpless to parry.
The strength he’d gained was a hollow, borrowed shell, no match for his opponent.
Soren smashed through the barrier with one punch, then followed with a backhand.
The fist landed square on the Dragon-Piercing Halberd, the impact bent the shaft and sent Neal flying.
The punch triggered a spatial tsunami, centered on Soren’s fist, space within a hundred-mile radius fully collapsed in a single second.
The scene was terrifying.
The azure horizon, which had only held scattered spatial craters, instantly turned the color of a void passage, more horrifying than a sudden flip from day to night.
Screams erupted below, even shielded by Soren’s demonic energy, Lysara and Basil couldn’t stop themselves from crying out.
Basil’s lips trembled. "This, this, this!"
Three stammers, and he couldn’t get the words out.
Only after swallowing hard did he manage it. "This Demon Emperor is way too absurd!"
"The physical force of that punch is stronger than an Upper-Tier Emperor’s technique, dozens of times stronger!"
"Good heavens, could a single punch already match a Lower-Tier Ancestor Realm?"
Lysara shook her head, unable to hide the excitement, her voice trembling.
"Master, it’s far more than that, my Demon Emperor hasn’t even used his full strength yet!"
Basil sucked in a cold breath and slowly came out of his daze, he looked at Lysara with a strange expression, watching her stare unblinking at Soren like a lovestruck fangirl, and wondered why his disciple’s reaction was nothing like the aloof, dismissive attitude toward men she’d always shown in his memory.
