Chapter 708 Taiping Martial Arts Hall
"Hiss... It’s really a bit painful!"
After Jimu Sanhe completely lost his breath, Xu Xiangbei sat on the ground, thoroughly relaxing.
"How are you? You’re not badly hurt, right?"
Having been scared half to death in the car by Jimu Sanhe, Zhao Xinfang finally regained her composure. Realizing she had narrowly escaped a tragedy, she took several deep breaths and noticed Xu Xiangbei sitting on the ground, blood soaking through his back.
Zhao Xinfang knew that if Xu Xiangbei hadn’t blocked that sword for her, Jimu Sanhe’s blade would have beheaded her!
"Don’t worry... I’m okay. By the way, if you have bandages or similar supplies in your car, please bring some down for me."
Sitting on the ground, Xu Xiangbei gritted his teeth in pain. Although he used Inner Strength to cover his skin before Jimu Sanhe’s sword struck, preventing severe damage, Jimu Sanhe’s Sword Dao was of considerable skill, creating a huge cut on Xu Xiangbei’s back, from which blood was pouring out.
"Phew... That was really risky, but you can’t catch a wolf without risking a child; it wasn’t too much of a loss."
After recovering some energy, an excited gleam appeared in Xu Xiaomei’s eyes. Despite the large cut on her back, not taking some injury might have made it hard to defeat her opponent so swiftly. Lingering for longer would have been detrimental, since there were drunk people on the car as well. If they were neglected and encountered trouble, Xu Xiangbei would regret it forever!
"Okay, I’ll find some medicine for you!" Flustered, Zhao Xinfang snapped back to reality and hurriedly searched her car for emergency supplies.
"If we just leave things as they are, the police might find out that I did this. You should properly deal with this corpse." Looking at Jimu Sanhe, already lying breathless on the ground, Xu Xiangbei pondered that the corpse’s cause of death was too obvious. The police could easily deduce Xu Xiangbei killed him, bringing a slew of troubles.
After searching for a while, Xu Xiangbei concentrated, gathered Inner Qi within, and struck Jimu Sanhe’s body a few times. Now, Jimu Sanhe appeared to have died in a dreadful car accident, rather than being murdered.
"Hey! I’m back!"
Having wrapped up at the school, Zhao Xinfang also retrieved emergency medicine from her car.
"Sis, can you bandage me up? The wound’s on my back, and I can’t reach it myself."
Looking awkwardly at Zhao Xinfang, Xu Xiaomei felt embarrassed, while Zhao Xinfang blushed upon hearing Xu Xiangbei’s request. Remembering how close he came to losing his life, she refrained from saying more and quietly began bandaging his wounds.
"How embarrassing!" Zhao Xinfang’s face flushed like an apple as the man before her exuded a masculine allure. Zhao Xinfang, in her early twenties, struggled not to be tempted by Xu Xiangbei!
"Hiss... Okay, okay!" Xu Xiangbei grumbled at Zhao Xinfang as she ripped open his wound to apply medication, seemingly intent on torturing him!
"Um... what should we do now?" Zhang Xinfang shyly asked Xu Xiangbei, realizing her grip had been slightly excessive!
"Don’t worry, I have a plan." Xu Xiangbei took out his phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, Captain Yang, there’s been a car accident here; please come over!" After exchanging pleasantries with the person on the line, Xu Xiangbei hung up, while Zhang Xinfang regarded him with curiosity. How did the man before her know the head of the criminal investigation team? What was his identity?
Before long, Captain Yang arrived with several police cars, warmly chatting with Xu Xiangbei.

"Hehe, Younger Brother Xu, we haven’t met in quite some time!" Captain Yang said kindly.
"Captain Yang, I must treat you to a meal sometime. We found this corpse on the roadside while driving, probably a severe car accident. Please verify the deceased’s identity." Xu Xiangbei pointed at Jimu Sanhe’s lifeless body on the roadside, speaking with a serious expression to Captain Yang.
"Are you sure this corpse is completely unrelated to you?" Yang Hai asked with interest, knowing Xu Xiangbei’s background.
"Of course, Captain Yang, you know I’m a law-abiding citizen, right? How could this corpse possibly be linked to me?" Xu Xiangbei feigned innocence; he couldn’t let Yang Hai discover any clues!
"Alright, if you say so, I’ll trust you. Pack up and let Captain Guo take you home." Observing Xu Xiangbei’s innocent demeanor, Yang Hai refrained from further probing. Given their rapport, if Xu Xiangbei didn’t offer information willingly, he wouldn’t push the investigation, just enough to report up the chain.
"Okay, I’ll inform them briefly." Xu Xiangbei agreed, turning swiftly toward his car, as he didn’t want the drunk passengers to encounter new troubles.
"Are you all alright?" Xu Xiangbei quickly approached his vehicle, relieved to find the four passengers inside were unharmed, letting out a sigh of relief as no issues had arisen.
"We’re fine, how are you doing?" Gu Xinyan exhaled upon seeing Xu Xiangbei return unharmed, relieved he hadn’t encountered any mishaps.
"Don’t worry, I’m fine." Comforting Gu Xinyan with a gentle smile, he assured her, not wishing for her concern.

"Alright, not having any trouble is good." Hearing Xu Xiangbei’s reassurance, Gu Xinyan sighed, grateful amidst the four passengers in the car, who were all still focusing, unable to fully awaken given the circumstances. He’d kept an eye on external threats, fearing anything unexpected. With Xu Xiangbei back, Gu Xinyan finally could truly relax.
"Alright, wait here for a moment. Once I’ve communicated the situation, we’ll head home together."
Xu Xiangbei gazed tenderly at Gu Xinyan, who had tirelessly kept watch and worried about Xu Xiaomei, truly thankful for what she had endured.
After giving Gu Xinyan a nod, Xu Xiangbei returned to the direction of the criminal investigation team. After greeting Guo Lijun, Guo Lijun escorted Xu Xiangbei and Gu Xinyan and their group back home.
"What happened earlier? Why was the energy so terrifying?" Once home, and after settling the others, Gu Xinyan curiously asked Xu Xiangbei.
"Please don’t ask now; at least there’s no issue anymore. Such situations shouldn’t occur again."
Xu Xiangbei didn’t intend to disclose everything to Gu Xinyan, as he wanted to avoid worrying her, since today’s dangerous situation was closely tied to him.
"Alright, it’s late now, and so much has happened; rest up soon." Seeing Xu Xiangbei reticent, Gu Xinyan refrained from prying further, offering simple advice before heading upstairs solo. Xu Xiangbei tidied up and groomed himself, then climbed into bed.
"That female driver really is interesting; I’ll have to keep in touch." Noticing a newly added contact of the female driver in his phone, Xu Xiangbei smiled and powered off his device, peacefully closing his eyes.
A quiet night ensued.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Just past seven, Xu Xiangbei awoke to knocks at the door, rousing him reluctantly from sleep. Rubbing his drowsy eyes, he approached the door unwillingly.
"Hey, who are you?"
Seeing a group in matching uniforms outside, Xu Xiangbei’s face bore confusion, and he impatiently asked.
"You’re Xu Xiangbei, right? We’re from Taiping Martial Arts Hall. Kindly come with us!"
