“Hello, Acting Commander. Please issue your orders.”

A female voice devoid of emotion echoed through the control room, causing Yang Yi to look up.

A translucent female figure had appeared in the center of the room. Her lower body was blurred, while her hands were folded neatly in front of her.

Beneath her stood the central control console, which displayed a miniature model of the Shelter Ship floating quietly upon the sea.

“An intelligent AI?” Yang Yi asked in confusion.

“Yes. You may address me as Selt. I am the artificial intelligence program responsible for assisting in the management of the Shelter Ship,” the female projection replied.

“What can you do?” Yang Yi asked.

“Obey and carry out your commands, Acting Commander.”

“Uh...”

Yang Yi felt that this AI was a little too concise.

Fortunately, he had experience sailing ships and could roughly determine that this control room served as the helm of the Shelter Ship. Although the interface differed from conventional vessels, its functions were fundamentally the same.

Without authorization, no player could control another player's ship, and the same rule applied here.

After a player's death, their vessel could be occupied, dismantled, and stripped for resources, but taking direct control of it was an entirely different matter.

Permissions aboard the Shelter Ship were divided into extremely detailed categories and distributed to other players in the form of authorization cards. Otherwise, only a handful of people would never have been able to manage such an enormous vessel.

Yang Yi had no such concerns. There were only a few people aboard to begin with, and the ship did not truly belong to him anyway. He could only command it; he could neither upgrade it nor construct or expand its rooms. What he possessed was merely command authority.

After consulting Selt, he obtained the Shelter Ship's detailed information.

【Shelter Ship】

Level: 7

Durability: 258,221/400,000Capacity: 50,000,000 unitsMaximum Speed: 5 knots

【Ship Skills】

Disassembly and Reassembly:

The Shelter Ship can separate into five relatively independent vessels. Their movement speed increases to 300%, and they can later recombine into a single ship.

Energy Barrier:

Activates a high-intensity energy shield with durability equal to that of the Shelter Ship itself. The barrier lasts for eight hours and can be activated once every forty-eight hours. If the barrier is destroyed, the central reactor will temporarily lose power.

Super Expansion:

The ship possesses exceptional expandability. Players can design its layout themselves while the system provides modular support, allowing for completely customized expansion.

With each upgrade, the total available space increased. Players were required to provide completed blueprints before upgrading. The materials needed varied greatly depending on the design plan and could be modified later, though doing so consumed additional resources.

The ship supported players in freely assigning permissions, designing permission hierarchies, and distributing authorization cards.

Auxiliary AI:

The vessel was equipped with an artificial intelligence program that assisted players with management.

“This really is a complicated ship...” Yang Yi remarked after reading through the Shelter Ship's information.

If he had obtained such a special vessel at the beginning, he probably would have been driven mad by the sheer complexity of it. He knew absolutely nothing about architecture or ship design and could only rely on intuition and trial and error.

If this had merely been a game, it would have been manageable, but in reality, it was an entirely different matter.

At the same time, the ship possessed tremendous potential and offered endless possibilities.

Yang Yi sent a copy of the information to Suna and decided to designate the Shelter Ship as a temporary offshore base. However, its current location was not concealed enough and still carried the risk of being discovered by natives, so it would eventually have to be moved.

He studied the large sea chart for a while before deciding to have the Shelter Ship sail to the coordinates where he had first arrived, naming that location Point Zero. Doing so would make future navigation and returns to the base much more convenient.

Of course, the relocation would only begin after the Nightmare Star had departed.

Yang Yi informed the AI, Selt, of his plan, ordering it to execute the relocation and forbidding any natives or players from boarding the vessel.

After settling these matters, Yang Yi retrieved the authorization card and looked at Xiao Ji, who stood motionless nearby.

“Xiao Ji, are you planning to stay aboard the Shelter Ship, or come with me to the Golden Chamber of Commerce?” he asked.

The indicator light atop Xiao Ji's head flashed, and after several seconds, it replied, “Xiao Ji is an intelligent robot and only obeys orders.”

“Is that so?” Yang Yi stared at Xiao Ji with his lone eye for a moment before smiling. “Fine, then come along with me. The ship happens to be short of a cleaning robot.”

“Alright!” Xiao Ji followed behind him. “But I think I'm perfectly capable of serving as a chef...”

One man and one robot took the elevator down to the integrated warehouse. As soon as the doors opened, the stench of garbage rushed toward them.

Compared to before, however, the situation had improved considerably. The lights were now functioning, and seventy to eighty percent of the mountain-like heaps of trash had been cleared away, sorted into different areas, and piled into garbage mounds five to six meters high.

Some piles consisted of rat carcasses, others contained organic waste, recyclable materials, or non-recyclable trash.

Yang Yi had originally come to inspect the progress of the recycling efforts, but he had not expected the robots to work with such efficiency.

There were also two peculiar tracked vehicles on site. They were equipped with bulldozer blades at the front, forks at the rear, and mechanical arms connected to buckets mounted on top. They even possessed lifting cables that could be raised and lowered.

“What is this thing?” Yang Yi asked.

He was momentarily stunned and failed to recognize it until he noticed a robot integrated into the vehicle's chassis.

Xiao Ji explained from the side, “These are robotic terrestrial operation expansion modules. These two units were still intact and happened to be stored in the robot production workshop, so we put them to use.”

“Really? I don't remember seeing them at all,” Yang Yi said, unable to recall their existence.

“There are two robot workshops,” Xiao Ji replied. “One is responsible for producing robot components, while the other manufactures expansion modules.”

Apparently, they had discovered this batch of equipment and, on Xiao Ji's own initiative, assembled them, greatly improving overall work efficiency.

“Then are there underwater modules as well?” Yang Yi asked, clearly interested in these powerful attachments.

“No. The underwater modules only existed as blueprints. Only the terrestrial operation modules and maintenance modules were actually manufactured, but there wasn't enough time to test them before.”

Yang Yi nodded and picked up a rotary cannon barrel from one of the garbage piles. It belonged to a rotary beam cannon.

Although the barrel itself remained intact, the turret had been destroyed in an explosion, so it had been discarded among the recyclable materials.

“The Shelter Ship has a waste recycling station,” Xiao Ji explained. “It can process many kinds of garbage into basic materials and incinerate non-recyclable waste for harmless disposal.”

“Then the total amount of usable resources can actually increase even further...” Yang Yi muttered.

He put down the cannon barrel and looked toward a large food printer in the distance.

It resembled a vending machine. By entering the appropriate number, users could print the desired food item. There were forty such machines in total, neatly arranged in two rows.

“Xiao Ji...” Yang Yi began. “The way your shelter recycles organic waste and useless corpses... don't tell me you're feeding them into the food printers?”

He turned towards the little robot.

The indicator light atop Xiao Ji's head flashed as it replied, “I was just about to suggest that. In fact, Homekeeper Rat carcasses can also be recycled and converted into food.”
