Chapter 815: First Class — Not Up to Standard
Xu Yang shrugged. "Let me ask a different question then. Here, besides these four people, there's still three of us left. One more needs to be eliminated. Who do you think that should be?"
Jiang Ran thought to himself, definitely me.
After all, you're a guy, and the Long-Legged Blonde Girl is a woman—and a pretty one at that.
Unless you're gay, you'd keep him around.
And even then, that kind of keeping would probably involve selling your ass.
Seeing Jiang Ran silent, Xu Yang chuckled. "How about we take a vote?"
Jiang Ran still didn't respond.
Xu Yang said, "Raise your right hand if you agree I should die, and your left hand if you agree this handsome guy should kick it."
"One, two, three. Go!"
Three arms shot up.
And right as they did, the grin that had been plastered on Xu Yang's face slowly faded.
Because the two people across from him had both raised their right hands. Only he had raised his left.
The shift in Xu Yang's expression registered in Jiang Ran's eyes. He turned to the girl beside him in confusion, shocked to find that she, too, had raised her right hand.
"Did you raise the wrong one?"
Jiang Ran thought she must have misheard Xu Yang's instructions.
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl shook her head. "No, I heard you loud and clear."
Jiang Ran said, "Shouldn't you be on their side?"
Given the situation, any woman with half a brain could read the room and side with the stronger party.
Whatever kept her alive.
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl shook her head again.
Jiang Ran lowered his voice. "Do you have a thing for me? Is that why you're on my side?"
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl shook her head. "No."
Jiang Ran was baffled. "Then why?"
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl said, "Because you're way better-looking than him."
Jaw-dropped speechless…
Jiang Ran never expected it to be for that reason…
Still, even if that was the reason, the vote didn't mean much. It was at best a form of entertainment. Because Xu Yang on the other side definitely wasn't about to off himself over something like this.
Sure enough, Xu Yang had no such intention. He lowered his left arm and said, "I didn't expect you two to be a couple."
Because Jiang Ran and the Long-Legged Blonde Girl had been whispering to each other, their voices very low.
Combined with the earlier vote, Xu Yang assumed they were a pair.
"Forget it. I won't pretend to be noble. You two decide among yourselves who gets to live."
Jiang Ran exchanged a glance with the Long-Legged Blonde Girl.
After their eyes met, neither made the next move.
"Ah, come on, don't do this to me. You're putting me in a tough spot!"
Xu Yang slumped back into his seat.
The situation in first class was now deadlocked.
A strangely bizarre deadlock.
Half of the twelve-hour game time had already passed.
But first class was eerily silent.
Xu Yang sat slumped in his seat, eyes closed, as if he had fallen asleep again.
Whether it was the people he had knocked unconscious, or Jiang Ran and the Long-Legged Blonde Girl, he made no further moves against any of them.
Gradually, the entire plane fell silent.
From first class, they could barely hear the noise coming from business class and economy class behind them.
Probably all over by now.
Time ticked by, second by second. Inside first class, Jiang Ran had initially been hyper-focused on Xu Yang, afraid he would suddenly make a move. But Xu Yang just kept sitting there with his eyes closed, slumped in his seat, making Jiang Ran wonder if he had actually fallen asleep.
"I'm so hungry, so thirsty…"
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl had long since returned to her own seat. Since this flight was exceptionally long, passengers would normally have some food or drink midway. In the past, first class passengers like them would just tell a flight attendant if they were hungry or thirsty. But now? Did they have the guts to say anything?
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl actually did have the nerve. She asked the two armed flight attendants for food and water, but neither of them paid her any attention.
The only thing that turned those two armed flight attendants from statues into living people was when a first class passenger asked to use the bathroom.
Then they would do a one-on-one escort, monitoring the first class passenger going to the restroom.
Time flew by, and there was only one hour left until the game ended. Right at that hour mark, Captain Tom's voice suddenly rang out in first class.
"All of you left in first class, aren't you going to hurry up and decide on the last two spots? Business class and economy class settled theirs a long time ago."
"If you haven't figured it out within this last hour, then all of you are going to die!"
Her tone was light, with a hint of playfulness.
If Jiang Ran had been a spectator, he would have thought Captain Tom's voice, against this backdrop, was a sharp contrast.
Pretty interesting.
But right now?
He felt that voice was nothing short of a death warrant, a cursed death knell.
He turned his head and looked at the Long-Legged Blonde Girl. She was now also sitting back in her seat with her eyes closed, resting. He glanced behind him at the four people still unconscious. As for the one responsible for their unconsciousness—Xu Yang—that guy sure could sleep.
Jiang Ran didn't understand.
The Long-Legged Blonde Girl and Xu Yang, especially Xu Yang, were they not even the least bit anxious facing a life-or-death crisis like this?
From Xu Yang's perspective, he clearly had the strength to survive!
"If you guys aren't in a hurry, I'm not in a hurry either."
Facing this last hour, there was nothing he could do about it either. First, he didn't want to kill anyone. Second, he couldn't beat Xu Yang anyway.
Third, he couldn't bring himself to lay a hand on the Long-Legged Blonde Girl who had been showing him goodwill the whole time.
"If I really do get shot dead, is that how it ends? Or can my System do something and revive me?"
Whether or not this System could bring him back to life—the alternate personalities in his inner landscape world definitely knew the answer. They were certain it could. But he, with only the good memories, had no idea. Absolutely no idea.
And so, first class sank into this bizarre atmosphere where no one made a move. It was as if all three were just waiting to die.
Soon, the hour was up.
Captain Tom's crisp, pleasant female voice echoed through first class again—no, throughout the entire plane.
"Game time is over. The Black Passenger Plane—Real Person Game has concluded."
"Now, I will announce the results."
"Let's start with economy class. Economy class had a total of 220 seats. And exactly 220 people. In the end, 20 survived. Congratulations, you've met the quota."
"Business class had 30 seats, also 30 people. Six are still alive. Congratulations, you've also met the quota."
"As for the last cabin—first class."
"First class has a total of 8 seats. But there were 9 people. Although four are injured and unconscious, they are not dead yet. Therefore, first class currently has 7 survivors, corresponding to a quota of 2 people. You did not meet the standard."
With the final game results announced, first class was deathly silent. The only sound was the continuous gulping of an unidentified passenger swallowing their saliva.
As for the people in the two cabins behind, upon hearing that first class hadn't met the quota, a strange, indescribable sense of smug satisfaction rose in their hearts—even though they were already exhausted, pained, and beaten down.
They were waiting. Waiting for those rich people riding in first class to all get shot dead.
