A streak of earthy yellow light cut through the endless sky.

One moment it was on the horizon, the next it appeared at the mountain peak.

As the yellow light broke, a middle-aged man appearing to be in his forties slowly descended, dressed in a yellow robe, his face stern.

"Greetings, Master Xia!" A woman clad in a purple dress, with a slender waist, hair down to her waist, and skin like frozen jade, saw Xia Xuanyan appear and immediately saluted.

"Every time I see the Hierarch’s form and appearance, it always feels quite incongruous."

The woman smiled softly, the figure of a young maiden paired with a face full of wrinkles appeared even more discordant, but her voice, however, was as ethereal as a young girl’s: "Master Xia’s methods are extraordinary, preserving youth eternally, how could this old body possibly match Master Xia’s heavenly means, barely maintaining physical youth."

"Let’s not talk about this!" Xia Xuanyan shook his head, then his expression turned serious: "Did the Hierarch fail in the curse killing of that Dongling Marquis?"

Hearing this, the Heavenly Cry Sect Leader hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Since it has indeed failed, why didn’t the Hierarch notify me earlier!" Xia Xuanyan frowned, his tone somewhat displeased.

The Heavenly Cry Sect Leader looked apologetic: "I had originally intended to remedy it."

Xia Xuanyan cast a subtle glance at her, revealing disbelief in his eyes, then said: "Do you know that he has now reached the realm of the Primordial Spirit Immortal?"

"What?" The Heavenly Cry Sect Leader was stunned, then shook her head repeatedly, "Impossible! At his age, there was no prior news of him embarking on the Immortal Dao, how could he have reached this stage! The Primordial Spirit Immortal, that’s a realm we have only just achieved!"

"Your information is really too closed off, too outdated!" Xia Xuanyan calmly stated, continuing, "In the Royal Capital’s Imperial Palace two days ago, that Dongling Marquis, by virtue of reaching the realm of the Primordial Spirit Immortal, held his own against Duke Wang Jixuan, later provoking that Martial Saint to intervene, which eased the conflict, deciding upon the new sovereign."

"That’s even more impossible!!" The Heavenly Cry Saint Master shook her head repeatedly, "What kind of strength does Duke embody? Even if I personally faced him, I wouldn’t stand a chance. Even if that Dongling Marquis, as Master Xia claims, has achieved the realm of the Primordial Spirit Immortal, how could he hold his own against Duke Wang Jixuan?"

"Could it be the Hierarch suspects me of deceiving you?" Xia Xuanyan said blandly.

"I dare not!" Detecting the displeasure in Xia Xuanyan’s tone, the Heavenly Cry Sect Leader immediately took a humbler posture.

"That Dongling Marquis achieved a superior Immortal Foundation, you understand, don’t you?" Xia Xuanyan said.

"Superior Immortal Foundation?!!" The Heavenly Cry Sect Leader was taken aback, showing an expression of disbelief.

"With Yin and Yang as the foundation, it can elevate the sun and moon across the sky, drawing upon the power of Taiyin and Taiyang, certainly not inferior to the foundation I have established." Xia Xuanyan explained.

"If what Master Xia says is true, then he is truly terrifying!" The Heavenly Cry Sect Leader revealed a look of apprehension in her expression.

"Truly terrifying!" Xia Xuanyan nodded in agreement, then added, "Everyone believed his Martial Arts talents to be the greatest in eight hundred years, but who could have expected his Immortal Dao talents to surpass even that."

At this point, Xia Xuanyan shook his head and sighed: "What a pity, what a pity!"

Listening to Xia Xuanyan’s sighs, the Heavenly Cry Sect Leader remained silent, still digesting the information Xia Xuanyan had just revealed.

"As an apology, let the Xia family notify me the next time you take action!" the Heavenly Cry Sect Leader offered.

"Hmm." Xia Xuanyan nodded.

"Master Xia, I now believe we should thoroughly ascertain that Dongling Marquis’s true strength to prevent this from happening again!" The Heavenly Cry Sect Leader suggested again.

"I understand!" Xia Xuanyan nodded, adding, "Throughout the world, whether we, the struggling Immortal Grotto Heaven, or those external sect forces that have withstood for a thousand years, no one wishes to see a being on par with that Martial Saint emerge."

"We, the Immortal Grotto Heaven beings, can’t make a move; once we truly step out of the Cave Heaven Blessed Land, we’ll face the thunderous backlash of that Martial Saint."
