Chapter 532 - 531: Tier Six High Level
Stepping out of the palace, he saw a figure and stopped in his tracks.
Gu Sewei smiled. "Li Wei."
Li Wei glanced back at Gu Sewei. "Good morning."
After nearly half a year, he had finally finished absorbing the thousand-year Celestial Snow Lotus.
Li Wei’s power had risen from Tier Six Basic Level to Tier Six High Level.
Without a treasure like the thousand-year Celestial Snow Lotus, it would have taken Li Wei at least ten years of cultivation to reach Tier Six High Level.
He had already tested this in the Time Secret Realm.
Relying solely on his own aptitude without any external aids, it had taken him seven and a half years of cultivation just to go from Tier Five to Tier Five Peak.
Li Wei asked, "I just saw Monice leave in a hurry. Are Demonized Creatures attacking again?"
Gu Sewei nodded. "Yes."
Li Wei chuckled and said, "Perfect. A good chance to stretch my legs."
The two of them flew toward the foot of the mountain.
When they reached the city wall, Li Wei saw Gu Ze directing the Fred City Mage Corps.
Fred City had very few Mages, but thanks to Gu Sewei’s efforts, she had managed to scrape together a Mage Corps of just under twenty people.
Most of them didn’t have a high Professional Level.
Gu Ze was considered one of the top experts in the Mage Corps.
The main reason was that Fred City lacked a Mage lineage, so most of them could only rely on their own fumbling efforts to practice cultivation.
Gu Sewei herself had gotten this far entirely on her own talent.
Most of the Mages in the Ice and Snow City were Ice Mages.
Under Gu Ze’s direction, the group was reinforcing the city wall.
They created many downward-slanting Ice Cones on the outer walls to prevent Demonized Beasts from climbing them.
Gu Ze noticed someone approaching and subconsciously glanced back.
Surprise filled his face when he saw who it was. "Li Wei!"
Li Wei observed Gu Ze for a moment, then said with a smile, "Teacher Gu Ze, your Power has been improving quite quickly too."
Gu Ze gave a wry smile. "It’s nothing compared to you. It took me half a year just to go from Tier Two Basic Level to Tier Two Middle Level in my cultivation."
"And that’s with the vast amount of cultivation resources Weiwei provided..."
The two chatted for a moment before a churning cloud of mist appeared in the Ice and Snow Land outside the city.
A snowstorm kicked up by the running Demonized Beasts rapidly approached Fred City.
Suddenly, the city gates swung open.
A dark tide of Demonized Beasts surged out from within the city.
Li Wei looked on, astonished.
When he arrived at the wall, he had already sensed a group of Demonized Beasts hidden below.
He had assumed the Demonized Beasts had already started their assault, but he never expected them to come from *inside* the city.
’Have the city gates fallen?’
Li Wei glanced at Gu Sewei and the others, but none of them looked panicked.
It seemed this had become a common sight for them.
’Then what is this?’
Suddenly, Li Wei sensed a familiar aura among the horde of Demonized Beasts charging out of the gates.
He focused his gaze and saw Monice, clad in heavy armor, riding on the back of a giant Demonized Bear.
The Demonized Bear carried Monice, striding forward at a run.
Li Wei asked, "What’s going on?"
Gu Sewei explained, "About three months ago, Monice suddenly gained the ability to command and control Demonized Beasts."
"In the battles since then, any Demonized Beasts we capture are tamed by Monice and become a force to protect the Ice and Snow City."
"However, the Demonized Beasts still retain their killing instinct. They’ll attack anyone who gets close, except for Monice."
"So, we normally have to keep them all locked in cages inside the city walls."
"We only let them out when it’s time to fight."
Li Wei nodded. "That’s good. It must reduce a lot of the defensive pressure."
Gu Sewei said with a sigh, "It is. If it weren’t for Monice, I’m afraid Fred City would have fallen long ago."
The Demonized Beasts are endless, while the number of Professionals in Fred City only dwindles with each death.
The constant fighting was gradually weakening Fred City’s defenses.
Monice awakening her ability to control Demonized Beasts was what saved them from the brink.
Now, Li Wei could only trust that Monice had truly changed for the better.
The dozens of Demonized Beasts under Monice’s control clashed with the horde of several hundred.
They tied up a portion of the enemy horde, while the remaining Demonized Beasts bypassed Monice’s forces and charged toward the Ice and Snow City.
To the other Demonized Beasts, Monice was one of their own and not a target for their attacks.
Monice’s attacks, on the other hand, seemed to confuse them.
However, the Demonized Beasts had already lost their self-awareness.
They didn’t think; they only acted on instinct.
After being attacked, their first reaction was to strike back.
Often, a single Demonized Beast controlled by Monice could tie down two or three of the enemy.
A Demonized Beast would almost never switch targets until its first one was dead.
Monice’s troop of Demonized Beasts instantly cut the number of attackers charging the Ice and Snow City by half.
The remaining Demonized Beasts were first baptized by a volley of large-scale Attack Magic.
Then, the few surviving Demonized Beasts were swarmed by the Professionals.
After most of the Demonized Beasts were dealt with, the new Valkyrie Commander, Shanyatie, led the stronger Professionals to support Monice.
The battle came to an end.
Nearly half of the Demonized Beasts under Monice’s control were dead or injured.
However, she had also acquired more untamed, wounded Demonized Beasts.
Once she tamed and controlled them, Fred City’s defenses would be even stronger.
Injured Demonized Beasts also recovered easily.
They just needed to be given enough food.
That food, naturally, was the corpses of other Demonized Beasts.
The people had already figured out which parts of a Demonized Beast were edible and which were not.
All the inedible parts were tossed to Monice’s legion of Demonized Beasts for food.
The defensive battle ended. Li Wei had watched the entire time without lifting a finger.
Fred City was now able to hold its own amidst the Demonization disaster.
That was something worth celebrating.
Having killed several hundred Demonized Beasts and obtained a new supply of meat, Fred City held a rare celebratory banquet that evening.
All the city’s residents participated, enjoying a rare day where they could eat their fill.
"Whoa! This is delicious! I haven’t eaten anything this good in over a hundred years!"
Saint Xi exclaimed excitedly at the banquet in the Ice Jade Palace.
For nearly half a year, even while Li Wei was in seclusion for his cultivation, he hadn’t forgotten to help accelerate Saint Xi’s growth.
For her, a single day was an entire year.
Saint Xi had effectively aged over a hundred years.
Now in her Adulthood Stage, after more than a century of natural growth, Saint Xi’s power had increased dramatically.
Her overall power had grown to the Legendary Late Stage, and her Holy Power had reached the Legendary Peak.
According to Saint Xi, her Holy Power was just shy of breaking through to Tier Eight.
However, that last little bit was an immense hurdle.
Because Tier Eight was an entirely new domain.
Tier Eight was also known as the Demigod level.
The Demon King Dragon was at this level.
An extremely powerful Demigod, at that.
Hearing this, Gu Sewei gave Saint Xi a strange look, not understanding what she meant.
Li Wei hadn’t told Gu Sewei about the Hour Time Technique.
The main reason was that, so far, the magic only worked on Saint Xi.
Saint Xi could only use the Hour Time Technique because of the massive amount of residual Power of Time in her body and her possession of a Time Dragon’s Reversed Scale.
The Hour Time Technique was completely ineffective anywhere else.
Otherwise, if Li Wei could use the Hour Time Technique on himself, he’d be able to become a god in an instant.
Gu Sewei didn’t dwell on it. She picked up a large piece of roasted meat, placed it in front of Saint Xi, and said with a smile, "If you like it, have some more. There’s plenty left."
"Aww, thank you so much, Sister Weiwei! You’re the best, Sister Weiwei!"
Saint Xi wolfed down the food like she was starving.
Watching her eat, Li Wei couldn’t help but laugh.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
A female guard ran in and whispered a few words in Gu Sewei’s ear.
A look of pleasant surprise appeared on Gu Sewei’s face, and she quickly rose to her feet.
She glanced at Li Wei and Saint Xi. "You two continue eating. I have to go take care of something."
Li Wei nodded. "Alright. Go ahead if you’re busy."
Gu Sewei wasn’t like Li Wei, who had nothing to do all day besides his cultivation and magic practice.
She was responsible for handling all of Fred City’s administrative affairs, managing all sorts of matters and troubles, both large and small.
Li Wei just assumed Gu Sewei had another urgent matter to deal with.
And for Gu Sewei, this matter was indeed urgent.
The Prince’s Messenger had arrived!
