Chapter 524: Super Ice Burst Tornado
Li Wei and Saint Xi experimented and discovered that the duration of the Hour Time Technique depended on the amount of Power of Time used to cast it.
When Li Wei cast the Hour Time Technique once, the residual Power of Time in Saint Xi’s body could maintain the spell for an entire day.
In other words, Li Wei could cast the Hour Time Technique on Saint Xi once per day.
This allowed Saint Xi to grow and increase her strength at twenty times the normal rate.
This growth-induced increase in strength was all-encompassing.
It wasn’t like absorbing Holy Light Crystals, which only increased her Holy Power.
A day later, Saint Xi told Li Wei she had finished absorbing the Holy Light Crystal.
The accelerated flow of time also sped up her absorption and digestion process.
From Saint Xi’s perspective, twenty days had genuinely passed.
Yet, only one day had passed in the outside world.
This was a good thing, as it meant Saint Xi could digest more treasures and increase her Power more quickly in a short amount of real time.
Unfortunately, treasures capable of increasing Saint Xi’s strength were exceedingly rare.
Saint Xi was a Legendary Holy Dragon.
Forget about treasures that could increase her strength.
Even a single drop of her Dragon Blood, one of her Dragon Scales, or a strand of her Dragon Beard would be considered a priceless treasure and a powerful tonic to the outside world.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to compare her to Tang Monk’s Flesh.
For now, Li Wei could only let Saint Xi maintain this twenty-fold accelerated growth rate and develop naturally.
He had no other external resources to give her.
Saint Xi, on the other hand, proposed that she go out and find "sustenance" herself.
Li Wei rejected her proposal.
Saint Xi could theoretically eat anything to absorb energy and grow.
However, the effect of such things on her growth was minuscule.
At best, they would only sustain her.
Li Wei wouldn’t allow her to risk exposure by going out for such insignificant gains.
Of course, if Saint Xi just wanted to come out and play, Li Wei had no objections and wouldn’t stop her.
He just didn’t want Saint Xi to take any unnecessary risks.
Knowing the immense importance of the Hour Time Technique for Saint Xi, Li Wei devoted all his energy to its Cultivation every day.
He worked hard to raise his mastery Level of the Hour Time Technique.
A few days passed. When Gu Ze happened to run into Li Wei, he had already forgotten about their previous encounter.
He asked with some curiosity, "Where have you been these past few days?"
Hearing the voice behind him, Li Wei turned and replied, "Nothing much. I was just in seclusion for a while, practicing my Magic."
Upon hearing this, Gu Ze immediately felt a sense of shame.
’Li Wei already has such astonishing talent, yet he’s still so diligent.’ How could he not feel ashamed?
Gu Ze reflected on how he had just broken through to Tier Two and was already getting so carried away.
He resolved to practice his Cultivation even more diligently.
His new life goal was to become a Grand Mage in his lifetime.
He didn’t dare to hope for anything higher than that.
Just over a year ago, he had still been worrying about how to become an Official Mage.
He never would have imagined he could become an expert of the Grand Mage Level.
Gu Ze’s spirits soared, and he gave himself a mental pep talk.
"Oh! Great! I’m going into seclusion too! This time, I’m going to master a Tier Two Ice Magic spell, or I won’t come out!"
With that, Gu Ze turned and strode toward his room.
Li Wei rubbed his chin and watched Gu Ze leave, feeling puzzled.
’I wonder what’s gotten into him all of a sudden.’
He shook his head slightly. ’Oh well, no sense in worrying about it.’
He opened the Teleportation Gate to the Magic Cottage.
Li Wei stepped into the Magic Cottage. Saint Xi was sleeping at the foot of the small hill where the Dragon Blood Tree grew.
Ever since Li Wei started using the Hour Time Technique on her, Saint Xi had been sleeping for longer and longer periods.
Saint Xi said it helped her avoid the disorienting feeling caused by the different flows of time.
This way, whenever she woke up, she would be able to see Li Wei again.
She also wouldn’t feel the long passage of time.
For Saint Xi, sleeping for several dozen days at a time was nothing.
Some members of the Dragon Race could even sleep for several decades at a time.
They would awaken to find that ages had passed, the world had transformed, and everything they knew was gone.
Sleeping for a few dozen days was like a short nap or a light doze for Saint Xi.
When Li Wei arrived, Saint Xi sensed his presence. Her own aura stirred, and she began to awaken from her slumber.
*Yawn*... "I feel like I slept for a while this time."
Saint Xi yawned, her eyes still hazy with sleep. She rested her chin on her claws and spoke, still not fully awake.
Li Wei smiled. "Of course. The time acceleration multiplier for the Hour Time Technique has increased to a hundred times now."
"When you sleep for one day, it’s equivalent to sleeping for a hundred days."
Whenever Li Wei entered the Magic Cottage, he would choose to do so only after the effects of the Hour Time Technique had ended.
Now, the flow of time for both Saint Xi and Li Wei was identical, so their conversations were perfectly normal.
While they could communicate on a spiritual level, instantly sharing thoughts regardless of the time difference, they could not bridge the huge gap it created when it came to physical actions.
Saint Xi nodded. "Wow, it’s already at a hundred-times acceleration."
Li Wei smiled faintly. "My Hour Time Technique has improved again. The time acceleration will be even greater this time. Do you want to try it?"
The Master Level Hour Time Technique had a twenty-fold time acceleration.
The Small Success Level Hour Time Technique had a one-hundred-fold time acceleration.
Saint Xi had experienced both of these.
Just last night, after several days of arduous Cultivation, Li Wei had advanced his Hour Time Technique to the Great Success Level.
The time acceleration multiplier had increased yet again.
Lacking the necessary Power of Time, Li Wei couldn’t cast the Hour Time Technique on his own.
He wasn’t sure just how high the acceleration multiplier was for the Great Success Level.
In any case, it was definitely much more powerful than the Small Success Level.
Saint Xi nodded, her face full of anticipation.
"Of course. I need to grow up fast."
Li Wei smiled.
When he was a child, he too had envied adults and wished he could grow up faster.
Only after growing up did he understand the price of maturity, and he found himself missing his childhood instead.
But if he had to choose, he still wouldn’t refuse to grow up.
He just wished the process was a little longer, giving him enough time to do the things he wanted while he was growing.
To make up for past regrets.
’I wonder what Saint Xi will think when she’s grown up?’
Seeing that Saint Xi had agreed, Li Wei was in no rush to cast the Hour Time Technique.
Li Wei said, "Let’s not rush. After this next time acceleration, there’s no telling how long you’ll be asleep."
"Before that, you should eat your fill, so you don’t get hungry later."
Saint Xi’s eyes lit up. In a flash of light, she transformed into her human girl form.
"Li Wei, Li Wei! Where are you taking me for good food this time?"
Li Wei patted Saint Xi’s head, feeling the silkiness of her long golden hair and the solidness of her Dragon Horns.
He said with a smile, "This time, it’s something really good."
「Half an hour later.」
Li Wei and Saint Xi stood before a snow-covered mountain peak.
Saint Xi looked all around, searching for the "good stuff" Li Wei had mentioned.
She asked, puzzled, "There’s nothing here. What’s this good stuff you were talking about?"
Li Wei smiled faintly and pointed to the mountain before them. "This is a snow-capped mountain with a vein of Magic Stones. It’s more than enough for you to eat your fill."
"Ah!"
Saint Xi’s face fell with disappointment. "Just this?"
She had been expecting something delicious.
But it was just a pile of rocks.
From a growth perspective, this mountain with its vein of Magic Stones was hugely beneficial for Saint Xi.
It could provide her with a massive amount of the Magic Energy she needed to grow.
But in terms of her expectations, a pile of rocks was the complete opposite of what she’d hoped for.
Saint Xi would have much rather eaten some fragrant roasted meat.
Instead of gnawing on cold, hard Magic Stones in the middle of a frozen wasteland.
Li Wei said, "Stop complaining and get to it. I had to ask your Sister Weiwei for help just to find this place."
Hearing Li Wei’s words, Saint Xi pouted, looking rather reluctant.
WHOOSH!
A dull roar echoed from the sky above.
Saint Xi looked up to see a burning meteorite plummeting from the sky.
BOOM! CRASH!
The meteorite crashed into the peak, blasting out a massive crater.
Snow was blasted away and instantly melted.
The impact exposed the rock face buried beneath the snow.
Scattered within the crater were countless rocks imbued with Magic Energy.
These were unrefined Magic Stones, full of impurities. They would normally require further refinement by a Mage or an Alchemist to be turned into standard-grade Magic Stones.
For Saint Xi, however, it didn’t matter.
She could eat dirt and rocks all the same.
Li Wei’s mining method was simple and crude: smash a meteorite into the mountain, and the Magic Stone vein would be exposed.
The rest was up to Saint Xi.
Saint Xi transformed into her Giant Dragon form and flew toward the crater.
She opened her maw, and an immense suction force drew all the shattered rock, soil, and melted snow from the ground into the air, swallowing it all.
Standing a short distance away, Li Wei felt the pull from above and was somewhat surprised.
He’d never seen Saint Xi use this move before.
’Is this a new ability she gained from her recent increase in strength?’
Instead of gnawing directly on the rocks, Saint Xi could now devour the Magic Stones much more quickly.
Soon, Saint Xi had eaten a huge chunk out of the mountain.
THUMP THUMP THUMP!
The sound of a stampeding herd of Magic Beasts came from the distance.
"ROOOAR!"
Soon, Li Wei heard the roars of the Magic Beasts.
He looked into the distance and saw a pack of Magic Beasts shrouded in Demonic Qi approaching.
Li Wei’s brow furrowed slightly.
Saint Xi also noticed the Magic Beasts and instinctively prepared to devour them.
Li Wei sensed her intent and quickly stopped her.
"Wait, don’t eat those Magic Beasts! They’re poisonous!"
Saint Xi gave Li Wei a confused look and paused.
"Poisonous? Toxins shouldn’t have any effect on me," Saint Xi said.
Li Wei explained, "It’s not that kind of poison. These are Demonized Creatures, corrupted by the Power of a Demon God. If you eat them, you might be affected."
Hearing this, Saint Xi subconsciously recalled the feeling of being corrupted by Void Energy.
A shiver ran down her spine, and she instantly lost all desire to eat the Magic Beasts.
That had been an awful feeling.
Just to be safe, Li Wei stopped Saint Xi from eating the Magic Beasts.
"You keep eating. I’ll take care of these Magic Beasts."
Li Wei cast a spell to annihilate the approaching Demonized Magical Beasts.
Tier Six Magic!
Super Ice Burst Tornado!
This was the most powerful area-of-effect Tier Six Magic spell that Gu Sewei had mastered.
Anything more powerful was already beyond Tier Six.
The Frozen Ice Seal Technique, for example, did not fall into the category of Tier Six Magic; it was a Super Tier Spell.
The incredibly violent Super Ice Burst Tornado swept through the pack, flinging all the Magic Beasts into the sky. They were frozen into blocks of ice, which then fell and shattered into countless pieces.
