「The next day.」

Gu Sewei was dealing with the aftermath of last night’s events.

The Prince’s Messenger Corps had been completely wiped out, and she had to find a way to explain it.

Offending the Jade Prince was one thing, but if it caused the Human Empire to become hostile toward Fred City, finding help in the future would be difficult.

Gu Sewei had a massive headache over this.

The Prince’s Messenger Corps had been annihilated right after arriving.

Most importantly, the Jade Prince was an enemy.

Gu Sewei had no idea what to do.

Li Wei walked in. "Weiwei, do you have a moment? I want to talk to you about something."

Hearing his voice, Gu Sewei looked up at him, set down her quill, and asked, "What is it?"

Li Wei said, "I’m planning to leave Fred City."

Gu Sewei asked in surprise, "Where are you going?"

Li Wei explained, "Locks is dead, so the people backing him definitely know that Saint Xi and I are here now."

"If we stay, we’ll only bring disaster to Fred City."

"Saint Xi and I plan to leave the Extreme North Icefield."

Gu Sewei stood up from her seat. "Is that really necessary? Even if the Jade Prince finds out you’re here, he can’t just send a large force over openly."

"If he only sends a few High Tier Professionals, we’re more than strong enough to handle them. We can even deal with a Legendary Professional."

Li Wei’s expression grew serious. "It’s not just about Locks. There’s also the Light Divine Sect."

At his words, Gu Sewei’s expression froze.

She remembered.

Li Wei was also at odds with the Light Divine Sect.

Gu Sewei fell silent for a long time, her heart a tangled mess.

She wanted to be with Li Wei, but she couldn’t abandon Fred City to leave with him.

If she left Fred City, the city would almost certainly be destroyed in the ongoing demonic calamity.

Protecting Fred City or leaving with Li Wei—she could only choose one.

Li Wei smiled and said, "Don’t act like this is a final goodbye. I’ll come back for you sooner or later."

"This is just a temporary departure for a while..."

Gu Sewei looked at Li Wei silently for a moment before nodding with difficulty. "Alright."

She walked up to Li Wei and hugged him.

"You have to come back."

Li Wei held her tight and whispered in her ear, "Don’t worry. I will."

Li Wei also told Gu Ze about his departure.

Gu Ze was silent for a moment, then smiled and said to him, "I wish you a safe journey."

He knew that the great world outside was the stage where Li Wei truly belonged.

As he watched Li Wei turn and walk away, Gu Ze suddenly shouted after him, "You brat, you have to come back! Weiwei will be waiting for you!"

Li Wei’s steps faltered for a moment. Without turning back, he said, "Of course."

Before leaving the Extreme North Icefield, Li Wei planned to do one last big thing.

Li Wei and Saint Xi stood on a snowy mountain.

A figure walked up behind them.

Monice said, "That should be about all of them. Every Demonized Beast and Demonized in the vicinity of Fred City is here."

Li Wei said, "Thanks for your hard work."

Monice gazed at Li Wei’s back without a word.

"Once we get rid of these Demonized Creatures, Fred City should have some peace for a while."

Li Wei looked down at the swarms of Demonized Beasts below the mountain.

WHOOSH!

A burning meteorite streaked across the sky and fell.

It struck the horde of Magic Beasts at the foot of the mountain, and the resulting blaze instantly engulfed all of them.

The terrifying shockwave kicked up a tsunami of snow.

The snowy peak beneath Li Wei’s feet trembled, and vast sheets of snow collapsed, triggering a massive avalanche.

There were no survivors below.

Li Wei and Monice walked down the mountain.

"Alright, this is it. Let’s part ways here," Li Wei said, turning to Monice.

Monice stood rooted to the spot, staring at Li Wei for a while.

She suddenly asked, "Do you want to see what I look like now?"

Li Wei paused, then smiled. "You haven’t even shown Weiwei. You’re willing to show me?"

Monice raised her hands and took off her helmet.

"I’ve become a monster, haven’t I? I don’t want to make her sad," Monice said, her voice tinged with sadness.

Li Wei looked at Monice’s face, which was covered in black markings, and at her eyes, which had turned black and red.

There was a strange, dark beauty to it.

Li Wei’s smile faded, and he said with a serious expression, "No, you haven’t become a monster."

"You’re human, and you’ll always be human."

"Thank you for your comfort," Monice said.

Li Wei shook his head gently. "I’m not just trying to comfort you. Actually... you’re quite beautiful now, too."

A hint of surprise appeared on Monice’s face.

She burst out laughing.

"Ahaha, I didn’t realize you had this kind of taste. Aren’t you afraid I’ll tell Gu Sewei?"

Li Wei said deliberately, "In that case, you absolutely must help me keep this a secret. Don’t tell her."

Monice just smiled and didn’t answer.

Li Wei said, "I’m really leaving this time. No need to see me off."

He turned, gave a wave, and started walking into the distance with Saint Xi.

Monice stood where she was, holding her helmet and watching Li Wei go.

BOOM! WHOOSH!

A fierce gust of wind swept over from the distance, and frost brushed against her cheeks.

Monice’s eyes narrowed slightly.

She saw a behemoth rise into the sky.

Saint Xi had transformed into a Giant Dragon and was carrying Li Wei, flying toward the edge of the Extreme North Icefield.

The cold wind howled, making Li Wei’s clothes flap violently.

His eyes were wide as he watched Saint Xi ascend through the cloud layer, the dazzling sunlight piercing his eyes.

Li Wei squinted slightly, feeling the Power of the Scorching Sun within him grow rapidly.

Streams of heat burrowed into his skin, nourishing the Sun in his Sea of Heart.

Looking down, he saw an ocean of clouds stretching to the horizon, the Snowfield below no longer visible.

Saint Xi flew toward the Sun.

Li Wei seized the great opportunity, sitting on Saint Xi’s back to practice his Fiery Sun Visualization Method.
