Gundam Fire Still

The Battle of Gundam Remains Chapter 8

Since this was a wardroom and not a tavern or some such place, what followed, there wasn't much bloodshed, both sides just threw down a few reviled words to each other, although they had different ideas, it was obvious to feel, all sorts of post-war emotions pervaded many parts of the base, the captain could tell, some, turning defeat into fear, and others, eager to fight again to get revenge, this was only the first battle, in the captain's memory, every battle, there were always some people who were changed one way or another, and those who collapsed halfway through, or went crazy, were much more than those who could stay sober until the end.

The base civilians and maintenance personnel who hadn't gone into battle might not have had a nervous breakdown over it, but that didn't mean they didn't know the gravity of the situation, and any soldier who saw the bullet-riddled ships and empty dock berths would realize that this was a hard fight, and it had just begun.

Looking at the vast dome overhead, the captain leaning against the wardroom wall narrowed his eyes, as a military base, the dome had no artificial sky and the iron grey armoured roof was also more suitable for rational thinking, losing his own MA, no, worse, losing his entire squad, which meant that it was no easy task to fight against the MS with excellent manoeuvrability in a small area, without a tacit coordination, without a skilled pilot, relying on veterans with fearful emotions and fast-trained recruits, and this body called MA, which was really a cosmic fighter.

The mood of the MA troops was so low, and the pilots were beginning to wonder if their MAs were so vulnerable in the face of the terrible exchange ratio. So it's only natural that "the coalition must be developing MS" has been the focus of a lot of speculation lately, both in pubs and on the internet. This might be a good thing, for the captain, although Karl himself didn't have much research on MS, but in the other side of memory, MS was still the main force of cosmic warfare, and it wouldn't be difficult to develop an excellent MS if the United Army mobilized Earth's resources. However, he was well aware that the United Earth was only a loose, cosmic-only existence, and on Earth, it was still a scattered entity like the Atlantic Federation and the Eurasian Federation, and the possibility of them uniting their resources to develop MS was almost nil, and even within the Atlantic Federation, there was a lack of lubrication between the factions from the Navy and Air Force, and the various bureaucrats and generals had their own agendas, so that Counting until the combined MS actually took to the battlefield, there was no telling how long it would take.

Even a well-disciplined army wouldn't be without an information channel such as the internet, although there would be many restrictions, but the military network system of the Moon Base was still quite perfect, and people on the forum were exchanging all sorts of content after the war.

"Are the Combined Grand Fleet tactics lagging behind?"

"Will the advent of new types of electronic jamming change the landscape of warfare?"

"From Fantasy to Reality, the Past and Present of the Human Weapon."

"A look at the weapons that changed the war in history."

Fred. Young, as a technical officer staying on base, had no way of knowing all the details of the battlefield and had to try to get valuable information on the net, although, most of the survivors of the war, didn't have this hobby of sharing their wounds online.

"Is MS repressive for MA?" It seems a worthwhile topic, perhaps, that the performance of the enemy's new weaponry far exceeded the predictions of the joint prototype.

. Integrity: the strength of MS seems to be that they can constantly make shifting movements in all directions

Meteor shower: changing the direction of movement all requires workmanship, it's common sense, they can't maneuver indefinitely

Righteous people: but it's true, they can easily shoot in almost any direction

Meteor Shower: that might just be a turn, so a small amount of spray would do it, but not necessarily change the direction of movement, that would be too extravagant.

The Righteous: but they don't fight for very long.

Memories of Bells: perhaps because they sacrificed weight to reduce fuel consumption?

Meteor shower: it's possible, a lighter body would make it easier to change direction

Integrity: they did perform a change of direction, a complex change of direction maneuver.

Bell's Memory: they should have installed nozzles on the front as well, which made it easier for them to change direction. That's what MA couldn't do.

Integrity: even if we had installed nozzles everywhere in the MA as well it wouldn't have made sense, the adjuster could control the complex nozzle system faster than we could, and we'd just be making pilots dizzy that way.

Mad Scientist: wait, are they really going to reduce weight to save on fuel consumption?

Meteor shower: it's quite possible that reducing weight could also increase maneuverability, and such a design has been used historically (note 1)

Memories of Bells: maybe strengthening our MA's armor and having them carry more fuel could restrain them in another way?

Meteor shower: is it also like history? (laughs)

Mad Scientist: perhaps using the aid of a computer program could allow naturalist pilots to master the nozzle maneuver as well.

Integrity: that's one way to do it, but can the computer aids compete with those adjusters?

Memories of Bells: we could try, after all, we have the resources to conduct some experiments, if that's what the higher ups are planning.

Integrity: they'd start planning for it, in either direction, I suppose.

Mad Scientist: but we need the same reference, and that is, whether MS is what we think it is.

Quicksilver: that's what the intelligence services are going to do.

Memories of Bells: maybe a reference from battlefield wreckage?

.................

The captain closed the electronic terminal on the side, although he knew that the discussion on the forum would not be fruitful, but at least some information could be discerned, the union would react to this failure as it should anyway, whether it was right or not was another matter, maybe he could do something about it? Make some useful attempts to give the Union MS out there.

FRED. Capt. Tech Young applied to join the patrol fleet in an effort to get a better look at MA and MS operations, but this application was put on hold due to the current busy schedule of fleet affairs.

It will be a long time before the combined fleet is back to a level where it can go out and fight, and the next turn, first in line, is ZAFT.

-----separation, here are some miscellaneous words -------....

Note 1: This history is simply the World War II Zero fighter. Isn't the situation very similar... High maneuverability, high firepower, overwhelming advantage in the early stages of the war... Before the advent of the weapons that restrained it...

P.s: With the advancement of internet technology, it's strange that bases don't have internet, so the forum logging section was added, and this new character... The reason is that some technical explanations can't always be explained from outside of the plot.

Chapter 6 - Information

The Grey House, a modest grey building that sits on the edge of the base's administrative area, adjacent to the military base area, is unremarkable in the Ptolemy base complex, but it is the headquarters of the intelligence fusion established by the Combined Forces to collate and consolidate intelligence from various sources and various member states.

Dan. Fritz, one of the heads of the Joint Intelligence Fusion Headquarters, sat for a long time at his desk, slumped over a nearly cold cup of coffee and a not-so-thick report, as a former member of the Atlantic Federation's Central Intelligence Agency (or maybe he still is, but who knows?). At least he felt bad for the fledgling agency; in the past, they were people with tentacles all over the planet, and what he and his colleagues needed to do, and were good at doing, was connecting bits and pieces of information and extrapolating a lot of valuable things from it, but now the enemy they were facing had a natural advantage: their genes, and trying to get unmodified naturals to mix with Plant was So difficult, and the network of satellites that would have covered the entire planet was beyond the reach of the lone colony in the universe. The new department, like the United Army, was not monolithic; it consisted of intelligence workers from different systems of the Eurasian and Atlantic Federations, and a number of military technology, aerospace professionals. The other side can dig up something from where they are, and those scientific workers, while able to make a reasonable analysis of the intelligence, are also full of suspicion and concern, and are hardly useful when they have very little access to the information. The army's top brass, too, seemed to trust the staff headquarters more, and the original intelligence apparatus, adding insult to injury, was a defeat some time ago. Whether it was the absolute superiority of the enemy MS or the appearance of a secret weapon, that high performance EMP, this department is to blame.

The initial lack of attention to the enemy MS was perhaps a historical legacy of the entire joint, and by now, with defeat a fait accompli, it's hard to do anything about it. Several proposals from the intelligence technicians to go to the battlefield to collect MS wreckage, or more radical, to steal or rob MS, were just rejected. The idea of MS performance was all but impossible to reach in the near future, the joint now had few ships available, and a large portion of them were still under repair, and if the already few patrol ships were left to fight enemy ships carrying MS, it would be a question of whether or not they could come back after seeing the MS's combat performance, let alone getting specific data on the MS, or going to get the actual MS.

For a new weapon that paralyzes the eyes and ears of the entire fleet, not knowing about its existence in advance is already some kind of substance, and now that the fleet has been back for some time, it would be a sign of incompetence on the part of this department if they still come up with nothing, even though they can use first-hand data from the battlefield and the base's resources to conduct research. Teams of scientists and technicians had been studying all kinds of data and records from the ships involved in the war overnight, and the only, and decisive, development in the last few days was the report on his desk that he had been staring at for a long time, a report that had been very successful in informing the bad news. Dan had seen all sorts of events closely related to the country in intelligence, so he immediately saw the importance, and the danger, of something like this from the enemy. The report and all the pertinent information was sent to his superiors at once, and he could almost imagine how the President would curse, "Jamming radar and electronics are just byproducts, one byproduct alone crippled three fleets, and as for that primary role, the primary role was to interfere with nuclear fission! Those XX adjusters,"

The communications panel on the desk began to flash, and on it was displayed, the logo of the United Space Command

"What the hell did you xx do!" What came through was the exasperated roar of a certain general "No, calm down, is this report true?" Another voice rings out and can be heard noisily in the background

"Confirmed, sir, its ability to suppress nuclear fission is almost certainly confirmed."

"What do you mean, basic? Yes, or, no?"

"We don't currently have a nuclear fission reactor that has been placed in the World Tree battlefield area for testing, so it's basic. But in terms of physical calculations and chemical processes, it's true that the device can reduce the activity of neutrons and thus inhibit chain reactions."

"That is, if they drop something like that on Earth," the voice of the executive officer on the moon's surface chimed in

"There's going to be a massive power strain on Earth, inform Earth and let them make the necessary preparations."

JCS (Joint Space Command)

The generals and suit-wearing officials seated on either side of the long table watched the faces of Earth dignitaries fading back into the black communications screen, people on both sides of the screen, both on Earth and in the universe, looked very bad instantly, the enemy had come up with something very troublesome, I don't know how much or how much it cost, but they had this thing, this dangerous thing in their hands Hands on, a large part of the earth's electricity is supplied by nuclear power, and a large part of the nuclear power plants are fission reactors, which is equal to, the energy lifeblood of the earth, in the hands of the enemy, so, although the earth has been informed, what does the so-called necessary preparation, solve? The enemy, and which step will it do?

Red emergency communications appear on the screen.

"Signs of Zaft warship activity detected, more than 10 confirmed to Lorasian class, predicted target, Earth orbit."
