Gundam Fire Still

Gundam's War Remains, Chapter 103.

"You really aren't from Blue Perestroika?"

"Blue Perestroika? Those idiots couldn't even pass a physical fitness test."

The soldiers on both sides began to whisper with restraint, but it was an indication of good condition, and Captain Mathis was pleased that identifying the ideological tendencies of the team members was not a pleasant task to do, they had spent a lot of effort under pressure from above to make sure that the men sent on this mission had no Perestroika background, and the effort was finally working.

Their commanders argued over the map of the satellite for a while before finally giving in to each other, each shaking their heads in frustration before returning to their teams and then assigning tasks.

"Do they clash?"

"The likelihood is less than ten percent." A young man with gold-rimmed glasses and wearing a t-shirt and jeans was explaining to a person in uniform, "if the personnel data you have entered into us is correct. You see, the parameter is very low, which means that the likelihood of a butterfly effect on this matter is so low that even a slight accident would not affect the results. Wait, this calculation item is the probability of who is in conflict with whom again?"

"This is a classified matter, Doctor."

The location was Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee, North America; the two men were facing an array of consoles below like a space control center, and in front of the consoles, also large screens displaying some sort of curve and code. The duty officer in charge of the computing system was explaining what was going on to the military's General Foster, who could be seen to be somewhat impatient.

Underneath the room ran what was now the most powerful computing tool in the entire North American continent, the Atlantic Federation's most advanced quantum computer, which shared the codename callie with its personified control system. The massive system had originally been developed for the Institute of Science, and the Department of Energy, NOAA, and nAsA had all pumped money into it, but now the vast majority of its computing space had been The 'hooligans in uniform' took over. Foster was well aware that this was what these scientists called themselves and their colleagues, and the oddly dressed researcher in front of himself was probably a silent protest, but no matter how much they protested, the war at hand was of paramount importance.

His purpose here was to wait for representatives from the Intelligence Community and the CIA to feed this supercomputer their latest intelligence, for security reasons the quantum computer was physically isolated from the outside world's World Wide Web and only data from this base's internal network could be fed into it. Without the latest intelligence from Washington and the laser communications from Shayan-san, he wouldn't have needed to come down to this floor to have any kind of un-nourishing conversation with the duty officer in charge, listening to him go through the quantum computer's progress from the original Alpha Alpha series to the B-architecture's simulated artificial intelligence to the current C-series to today; he actually asked him if he had heard that the B-series intelligence had once been in the Cosmic Army's Battleships had been used, not sure if he'd ever seen one.

Hell, is it so hard for this nerd to recognize that he's an Army General who spends years on Earth, and therefore knows next to nothing about the Cosmic Army's ships?

He missed the upstairs even more, at least there was plenty of coffee there, and fellow officers to chat with. On the upper floors, there were the equivalent of half the Fleet Staff keeping an eye on the situation reports or calculated situational probabilities provided by the callie, and then having them grab a phone to alert the appropriate units if necessary, some of these things were just little things like possible low ammunition stocks and aging desalinators, but some times that would really be something that would require some high level guys to make A matter of decision.

"You're finally here." As the automatic doors opened, Fred. Young and a fellow member of the CIA who was also in charge of analysis saw the welcoming general.

"I hope you're bringing some good news."

Young shook his head slowly, signaling that the news wasn't good, and took out his terminal and encrypted data disk.

"Check and sign, General, and then we'll explain in detail on the upper level."

Under the supervision of the head of the quantum computer they inserted the data disk into a terminal with a combination lock, then the head pulled out the keypad and began typing text.

... . callie, how are you?

.... I'm fine, human, but the war is bad. A lot of people are going to die.

..... It's not your fault, callie, there's something here that might help them.

..... I got it, and I think I can help.

........

A progress bar appeared on the screen, "Soon," the person in charge said back without a good look, he didn't like the idea of having callie calculate these war-related matters, and like many scientists, he saw the system as his own child.

"She could have used her computing power to help us land on Mars, start a colony on Europa, and even explore beyond our solar system, yet you let her calculate this stupid war within the Earth's circle?" The man in charge stretched out his hands and looked indignant.

"How long does data entry take?" Young wasn't going to respond to the fellow's sentiments for now, though he could understand part of it.

"Thirty seconds is enough. In fact, it's done now."

"Yet it took us over an hour to fly in from Washington." The CIA analyst stretched, apparently the flight hadn't been a comfortable one.

"At least we have coffee and couches upstairs, follow me, boys." General Foster, obviously eager to get off this floor early, turned around and ordered the elevator up.

13.The Key to Nuclear Energy

When the elevator opened in front of him, the first thing that was felt was the strong smell of smoke, Fred . Young almost coughed as he looked up, the upstairs floor was more like a war room in a military base, with maps, star charts, and moving arrows projected everywhere, blurry silhouettes of people moving behind the translucent star charts.

Someone saw the new people coming out of the elevator and greeted them with an excited expression.

"What's going on? Why is it blowing up?" General Foster was confused, he was well aware that there weren't supposed to be this many people standing and walking around, this place was supposed to be quiet, military men drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes and talking quietly about the war, not noisy as it was now.

"What new information have you added to the system. callie is giving us something now, something out of the ordinary."

The most senior officer in the room, Admiral Paul J. Bliss, Vice President of the Senate, stood up and quieted everyone, "Tell me, young man, what have you told the computer?"

Young took out his own terminal and then attached it to a computer on the wall, and his CIA counterpart turned on the projection, releasing a portion of the summary of their report.

"The most important part of this input of new information is our latest findings on the neutron jammer and the progress of the neutron jamming shield, with the addition of what we know, that the PLAnt already has nuclear capability again. Essentially, it's bad news that we're making bad progress, and they're done."

"That's right, the report we got from callie this time is that we have some chance of getting a sample of the neutron interference eliminator; but on the other hand, there's a chance that this thing will fall into Ezral's hands, and you all know very well what happens if the nuclear capability falls into the hands of that madman."

"But LoGos already has no power on Earth."

"But there are, in the universe, people who would be happy to do business with him, and there are plenty of people in the universe who would support anything that would bring down the Union and the Federation."

"And where will things happen? I'm sure the computer will tell us that too."

"If I'm not mistaken, at L4? There's been a lot going on there lately."

"Good guess, young man," the old admiral raised his eyebrows, "Let me see your classification, good, top secret, so you stay for now and we'll see what's going on in L4."

The old admiral pressed the remote in his hand and a projection of the L4 satellite cluster and the surrounding fleet situation appeared on the largest long table in the room.

"Our PLAnt friends invited one of our councilors, sir, to meet with them in a very impolite manner for some sort of, tentative contact, and then this incident, obviously, caused us and them to move."

"Our fleet here, and the latest report is that they are splitting their forces, one part went inside the satellite cluster and was in contact with the oRB, and the other part monitored the outside of the cluster, and they spotted a PLAnt breakaway ship being pursued by the Zaft fleet, who were not firing at them as we instructed, while the latter was sailing towards the inside of the cluster. "

"Well then, since our systems have analyzed the results so well, it's likely that Zaft's pursuit fleet contains machines with neutron jamming eliminators; or it's in the hands of the fugitives, but I think we'd better not think too perfectly."

"Yes, according to our projected timeline, the PLAnt nuclear machines are now operational, and they are likely to be opponents."

"And how do you explain the other line of reasoning? How is it possible for a Persian Daisy to get nuclear power?"

"Quite simply, they may be hiding nearby, as there exists a technology called mirage colloids, which we have reason to assume that Perestroika acquired in their attempt to get hold of the army."

"If I may, Captain, not to mention the Perestroika, under the latest policy, Blue Cosmos-Perestroika will revert back to that harmless environmental group calling for the protection of the whales and seals of the Arctic Ocean, and the warlordism of these privately built ships will be known as, an illegal arm led by the LoGos." A staff officer quietly pointed out certain areas of Young's statement that needed improvement.

"The next thing that became clear was that certain people who didn't want to see this negotiation contacted their friends and..."

"No, there's a problem here," after a moment's thought with his finger on the projected screen, Young interrupted the staff officer who was speaking, "Ezral won't have any interest in this engagement, he's a businessman and he knows full well that this engagement, at least the first one, won't be With any outcome, he could have continued to build up his power instead of making more enemies for himself - if the intel is correct, oRB is being the matchmaker for this contact. So if something is drawing Ezral to L4, it can't be this engagement or coincidence, but some sort of something else, something that works in his favor."

A low discussion began until a naval officer raised his volume to the level of a speaker.

"Before we discuss why, I think we need to warn the fleet of this possibility, they need to be on the lookout for an attack from behind."

"That's right, power up Montgomery with quantum comms and tell them to be on the lookout for unidentified ships from Blue Perestroika as well as watch out for Zaft's nuclear machine." Admiral Bliss nodded and issued instructions, "Also, everyone with liaison duties should return to their posts, callie will keep you updated on the intelligence."

At the same time, the bridge of the Montgomery...

Remiret looked up from Lt. Commander Owen's assessment of the effectiveness of the last attack and watched as the last formation of mA's were guided into the landing orbit by the laser, the last attack had no casualties, but the attack was also ineffective, two hits and five near misses meant that the three opposing ships were barely down, the only surprise was that the red ship that was being chased was also smart enough to take advantage of the situation A wave of missile strikes, at least three of which were confirmed to have penetrated the NASCAR-class armor, but from the last report sent by the surveillance mA before the return flight, the other side was regaining total momentum and apparently planning the next wave of attacks deep into the satellite cluster.

Just then, he received a quantum communication from the ground, and after a quick glance, he immediately connected to Hoffman on the Archangel.

"Latest news from the ground," the two ships' communications relay was still in its normal state, and he forwarded the contents of the message directly over.
