Hakai no Miko

Episode 14 Engraving

"Why aren't you trying to win?

Everyone was puzzled by the Ethereal Horse who showed up saying so.

I knew he was a human child that your son was raising recently. I do not stand up and condemn my son, Shemr, because of his own mouth saying he is "a benefactor of life," but it was not offensive in itself to have human beings in their villages, not to mention rhetorical propaganda such as waking up a man in the same tent as his daughters of his age, even though of other races.

If anyone wanted anything, I was thinking of killing them.

For the Zoans, the Ethereal Horse was nothing but an uncomfortable cockroach-like pest.

Everyone wondered how to judge the content of words that didn't even occur to such a human child.

Only Shemr moved in it. In her case, it's because of the thought that we need to protect him first, rather than thinking about what the Ethereal Horse said.

It is only an act of suicide, such as showing up in front of our compatriots who are about to fight the humans with total readiness to destroy them. And his neck shall be sacrificed for the ritual of his departure, and he shall be slain by his wrathful brethren.

Shemr rushes over to the pale horse, covering him on his back.

"This guy is a benefactor to my life! Forgive me, miss him!

But without such shemur's desperate actions or his eyes, the Ethereal Horse screams.

"Why don't you guys try to win?!"

What the yelling Ethereal Horse looks forward to was the Chieftain's Galam.

This may also take Ethereal Horse as an insult to the chief. If the chief were to be insulted, his compatriots would not stop, even if he, his son, stopped him.

Shemr trembled at the fear of frozen blood all over her body.

"Soma! This is not a good place for you to come! Get out of here! Get out of here!

Neither did Shemr's sad cry seem to have reached the pale horses of today.

Gallum opened his mouth to such a pale horse.

"Kid, what do you mean...?

"Wait, Raging Fangs! This."

"Shut up, it's Elegant Fang! I'm not asking you, I'm asking him!

Shemr despaired. We can no longer fix anything.

Totally Garam's attention has been directed at the Ethereal Horse. Already, no matter how much Shemr said, it was a situation that could not have been done without the remarks of the Ethereal Horse. All that, or just one wrong response, is a situation in which the lives of the Ethereal Horse could be taken. Even if Gallam is not willing to do so, his compatriots are not silent.

But you haven't noticed that, Ethereal Horse glanced at Gallum to challenge the fight.

"Just like I said! You're not trying to win!

"You think we're not trying to win?

"That's right! What you're trying to do is not even fight! It's just suicide!

To the words of the Ethereal Horse, the warriors who were on the spot raised their anger.

"Humans insult us!!"

"I will teach your body which is suicidal!

A few short-minded warriors pull out a mountain knife and kill it to the Ethereal Horse. Besides, Shemr was forced to pull out his mountain knife and stand up to protect his pale horse.

The warriors will not be able to do harm to themselves, their sons, but their opponents are Zoan warriors much stronger than themselves. If you take it from them, there will be no such thing as pushing yourself.

I desperately think about how I can help the Ethereal Horse, but I can't think of any such help.

The warriors hesitate slightly to Shemr, who stands in front, but not the anger that heals to that extent. He tries to seize your son and jump to tear a disrespectful human being apart.

"Stop, warriors!

That's what Gallum's drink held off.

"A weak human kid is trying to entertain us with crap. Let him talk to the end of the day."

Besides, the warriors have a sword.

Things like being able to cross blades with my countrymen were avoided, but that's temporary too. Shemr keeps covering his pale horse without laying down a mountain knife.

"What's up, kid? Before they kill you, chirp cheerfully at best and entertain us."

To Garam's mockery, the Ethereal Horse gives an angry voice.

"You cowards! I'm just running into the word warrior pride! I'm not seriously trying to think about beating my enemies! I'm just running away from the fight!

Shemr was no longer about to fall on the spot. Never speak a word of cowardice or escape against a proud Zoan warrior.

"You think we're on the run?!"

"You think you're a coward?!"

"Do you have any idea what a Zoan warrior is?"

With his hands again controlling his angry brethren, Garam shrugs his jaw all the time telling the Ethereal Horse to follow.

"I know! The true Zoan warrior is here!

So it was Shemr, who stood before herself, that the Ethereal Horse pointed.

"Shemr said! A warrior is one who fights on behalf of the weak. When a warrior's pride hurts, he says it's when he couldn't protect those he was supposed to protect!

The Ethereal Horse took his gaze off Galam and looked over at all the warriors on the spot.

"It looks to me like you guys are fighting for yourselves! All I care about is how proud I look!

"Don't say things like you've figured out a human flair!!"

"Then why are you trying to bring those who can't fight to die on the road!? That's the warrior!?"

A warrior poked at a painful spot is stuck in words.

It is the warriors themselves who know best how impudent they are to fail to save old men and children. Pointing it head-on, the warriors began to raise their voices of intimidation with their teeth out in anger and humiliation.

"This human kid! Slap me in the mouth! So you think you can get rid of the people over there?!"

"If you say you can win, get rid of those people over there right now!

"Can you? You weak human child!

That is followed by simultaneous ridicule by the warriors.

But the Ethereal Horse screams out of it.

"I can't! But I know how you can win!

To the words of the Ethereal Horse, Zoan and his men drew a mockery, and went out of their way.

You're giving up that everyone can't win, and that human kid knows how to win?

"Follow what I say and I'll let you win!

Zoan and his horses said, "Dawn."

You sure you can win this thing?

No, it's decided to be a lie.

That's all you say, maybe.

Such affirmation and denial ran around the back of his brain, and everyone stood on the spot in confusion.

"Ha ha ha ha..."

All of a sudden, Garam laughed.

Not only the Ethereal Horse, but also the Zoans stare at Gallum for something.

"Ha-ha-ha, ha, ha! That was pretty funny, kid!

After a smile, Gallum said so.

"It's no use, kid. We are proud Zoan warriors. Zoan's warriors will not obey anyone inferior to themselves. I've never even fought. Who obeys what you say when you never take a sword? Your words are empty! There's absolutely nothing there that can just follow us!

Gallum's point turned sharply over the weakness of the Ethereal Horse.

"If you were a Hundred Warriors, we might have listened to you. If you had led 10,000 troops, we might have obeyed you. But do you have it in your emptiness?!"

Gallum sticks his hook-clawed finger to the pale horse,

"Do you have something that just makes us obey?! Do you have something that just makes us believe?! If you really want us to hear you say it, show us a sign (a testimony) sufficient to believe!

Often, silence descends on the spot.

"There is. - Hmm. It was more fun than I thought."

Just that the story was no longer over, Garam turned his back on the Ethereal Horse.

Reading his intentions from Gallam's back, Shemr thanked him. Gallum dared to laugh at what the Ethereal Horse said, and by breaking it as a pastime, he saved the Ethereal Horse. Zoan's warriors will always be annoyed by what the chief broke off as an entertainment.

Every Zoan on the spot thought it was over.

"... I do"

"What?!"

Gallum isn't the only one. Shemr, too, looks out for all the Zoan on the spot in surprise.

While collecting all its gaze, the Ethereal Horse slowly lifted his right hand.

"Show me that you will win, and you will obey me."

"Ah, oh. and let's obey......"

Garam was puzzled.

What the hell, this kid? Do you really have something that just convinces us?

Gallum shuddered small.

How can a weak human child like that, who can kill him if he strokes one, say all that? If you look into your eyes, you see a strong will shine. It's never like I'm a freak I've touched.

So, who is he?

Gallum has come to think of the Ethereal Horse as a very creepy monster.

The Ethereal Horse was scared again.

If it's true, I wanted to cry and get away from this place.

But I stepped out at my will. We can no longer go back.

The truth is, there is no proof.

That's natural. The Ethereal Horse, who has lived in peaceful modern Japan, has never participated in a war. I've never even led and fought many humans. Garam is right. What I say is empty with no backing, no experience, no content.

But even if it's empty, it can make it seem like there's something in it. If they don't, I'll show them what they can't possibly have. If it's empty anyway, I'll dress it up flashy (approx.) just on the outside. As it seems to me that there is a tremendous amount of content in it.

Maybe I'll reverse them and they'll kill me.

Still, this is all I have.

The only thing I've ever gotten that I've fallen without holding one in this other world.

…… Stop it, Soma!

Shemr, who realizes what the Ethereal Horse is trying to do, raises a voice of restraint.

But it's late.

The right hand of the Ethereal Horse waved off the bowl roll that was wrapped around his forehead.

Lightly shining on his forehead, revealed, is an engraving like a combination of 8 and ∞. It was a creepy engraving, as if two snakes tangled their bodies, devoured each other's tails, and also seemed to wander

"Mi, is that your son...?

"What, that engraving? You've never seen that before, have you?

"What son?!"

Towards the Zoans, the Ethereal Horse breathed heavily and shouted as he raised his forehead on his forehead to show his engravings.

"I'm your son! Son of Aura, goddess of death and destruction!

The Ethereal Horse pointed to the human encampment that was once the village of Zoan.

"If you obey me, I will bring death and destruction to those men who afflict you!
