Lesson 48: General

Darius Brutus is a general.

Even if they say so, people from other countries will just tilt their necks about what it is. But it is no exaggeration to say that in this Holmeer country, when it comes to generals, it refers to that person, Darius.

The Burtus family, born of Darius, is Holmeer's premier grand nobleman, who also connects with the royal family if he strings the lineage diagram. Being his eldest son, he was obliged to lead and fight people by birth. At the age of only twelve, in the first line of decorations, among the knights serving the House of Brutus, those who were skilled in battle were put on the table, but all of a sudden they were entrusted with the command of soldiers from fifty.

At this time young Darius says that he felt a strong responsibility for one of his orders shaping the lives of his soldiers.

Then he tried to drill his own without being proud of his own blood muscles. That's not just polishing your martial arts and deciphering the book of military law. To find out what the soldiers he led were really like, he proceeded and spoke with the general soldiers kneeling, even though he was the eldest son of a great nobleman, and on the battlefield he ate from the same pot, praising it regardless of blood muscle for his achievements.

This is quite peculiar in the way the nobles behaved at the time. Even Darius's family said he didn't look good.

But instead, the confidence from the general soldiers was thick.

While many nobles only treat ordinary soldiers, civilians, to the point of abandoning pawns, Darius, who spares the lives of soldiers and is committed to a solid battle that is less dangerous, was a thankful presence for the general soldiers.

For this reason, when the soldiers also fought under Darius, they showed terrible strength. In the command of the other generals, if the colour of the defeat darkens, there will be many soldiers fleeing in front of the enemy, whereas in the command of Darius the soldiers fought persistently, overshadowing many predicaments and bringing victory to Holmea.

And only when Darius was praised as the best general of Holmea, and was finally appointed general.

The Grand General was the supreme commander of the army delegated the full powers of the army by King Holmea and was so heavily held that the king would serve concurrently without a suitable person.

So let's just say we know how awesome Darius is.

But he couldn't seem to beat the annual wave to come by, either.

"There's no art in having an old man like me hanging out with the Grand General forever either"

It was five years ago that Darius returned the great general to the king. He's old and faded, so he wants to quit his job.

Indeed, its brightened head and wrinkles deeply engraved in his face told the story of his good age to say he was old.

But when I heard his mouth, the heavy ministers of Holmea were all like, "What's the joke?," he said, tilting his neck.

For Darius, who walked refreshingly with his heavy armor and his white beard, did not belong to a very old man. I guess that's partly due to my daily workouts, but more than that, I guess that's what a lot of vivacity makes me feel like from within.

Then even now, five years later, that will not change. Darius, who unloaded the heavy burden of the Great General, was rather so full of life that even his acquaintances told him that he was young. It would also be natural, as if to clear up the depression that had been pushed into one of the Royal Palace's rooms as a grand general, because he encouraged self-training and the coaching of private soldiers in only a few spare moments.

In contrast, the close men keep their mouths shut and say:

"He must be a root general."

In that one word, everyone is somehow convinced.

Darius and I were such men.

And even today, an elderly decree comes to Darius, who was naked in the courtyard of the mansion and was doing a routine wooden sword bareback.

"Sir. We have a customer."

Besides, Darius waved a wooden sword with one last sharp breath.

"Ha. I don't think I made any promises to anyone today, but who's been asking?

When Darius stuck the wooden sword to the ground, he took the cloth he had left on a nearby branch of the tree and plucked the body where the sweat stood as a hot air.

"I'm an impolite visitor without taking any promises, but I just put it in your ear just in case. I'll take care of it myself."

With that being said, Darius calls off a family order to give him a courtesy on the spot and try to walk away, whether he intends to drive the guest back.

"Wait. What the hell is going on?

This ordinance has long served the House of Brutus. For Darius he is an obedient, but childhood tamer and best friend. I perceived the identity of the visiting guests in such an attitude that Darius would know.

"Right. Is he here? - I have no choice. Show them to the study away."

Besides, the decree tells Darius.

"Sir, I know it's a pleasure to offer, but if you're dating such a lowlife, there's dirt in your husband's name..."

"I know what you're trying to say, but I need someone tomorrow."

It was still unconvincing, but if the master who is serving says so much, it is no more transgressive. The decree walked away in a deep courtesy.

After wiping the sweat, Darius dresses in dirty clothes and heads alone to the detachment where the Guest is being guided.

Set apart to concentrate on reading and writing, this study was used to cater to guests who, more than its original use, would not see much of an aunt like this one.

Opening the wooden doors with heavy styles, the two guests who had already been guided were waiting for Darius.

Darius says as he lowers his back to a bench placed in the center of the room in a relaxed foothold.

"You've kept me waiting."

The first thing that caught my eye was a long, confusing woman with a man. A woman with burning red hair in one room and flushing it on her back wears a man's clothing, so at first glance she missees it by a riddled young man. But if you look at those breasts, it was obvious that they were women. When she bows her head deeply to Darius, who has come, her cheeks, exuberant as they have pushed in the great fruits of the South, shake with deflection.

But Darius' gaze was quickly passing over her and directed at the other person next to her.

"No, I apologize for the surprise visit, my lord."

It was the beautiful boy who gave a decadent atmosphere like a concubine kept by the aristocratic wives who said so and thanked him.

In the white beauty of a burnt brown forehead draped on the right half of the face, her eyes as thin as thread shine demonically. Just standing, the fluttering, thin body wrapped a large piece of cloth from the top of a tunic-like jacket around it like an ancient Roman toga, covering it up softly to the toe.

"Toe toe. I know you're making your knee worse, don't force yourself to sit down"

"Well, sweeten your words"

When a beautiful boy called Toe says so, a man dressed woman turns behind him in a flowing motion and moves him as he sits the wooden wheelchair he kept there.

On a clap with his hips down on the wheelchair, the cloth that was on both shoulders of the toe fell.

Then his arms, which were hidden under the cloth, are revealed.

No, to be more precise, it became clear that I had no arms. His arms are lost around his shoulders, and only the sleeves of his undressed jacket shake Yurayura according to his movements.

The man dressed woman stood behind her toe silently as she put the fallen cloth back on her shoulder.

As she is only a servant of Tutu, she does not dare to imitate the suggestion of a seat, as Darius is also absent.

"That's unusual, toe-toe. I didn't know you were coming directly to the mansion."

"I'm so sorry. We're making you uncomfortable and afraid."

I would say it in a way that is less discerning than appearance, but Darius did not wonder. Darius stares that he only looks like a beautiful boy, but not at his age as he sees it.

Darius, a great nobleman, got to know a suspicious figure who might not even know such a trait because of the intoxicated Darius' men involved in a man's clothing woman who still follows the toe.

The five soldiers involved in her, even though they were occasionally drunk, are the formidable men who had been forged by Darius from day to day. But in an instant, she slapped five of the soldiers. Moreover, Darius, who had heard the noise, tried to make a voice of restraint, at that moment.

On the pretext that Darius, interested in that skill, apologized for his subordinates' disrespect, I invited her to tea, and it was this toe that she introduced as her own master.

Initially, Darius's interests were only directed at the arms of women. However, Darius' interest quickly shifted to Tutu himself as he engaged in a dialogue with Tutu at the tea table.

The height of sight, felt from the ends of that word. The breadth of knowledge that also leads to local sex and customs that Darius has never even heard of.

Above all, however, Darius's interest in Tutu was in his own connections, which led him through less well-heard and operating people and spread widely around the society behind him.

Darius realized that his own men were probably trapped by this guy.

The purpose of this is to sell one's talent into oneself in this way.

"Don't you want me to hire you?

And knowing that, Darius bought a toe talent.

Because it was a tricky talent for Darius.

No matter how many knees you cross with a general soldier, Darius is a great nobleman. It is undeniable that there is a great separation there between civilians and nobility, which cannot be done until the true chest collar of the general soldiers is opened. Not to mention if the criminals Darius, who is in charge of security, should also be the opponents.

"If I could work under His Excellency Darius, it would be an unwanted pleasure"

That's how Tutu was supposed to work as a spy for Darius. Since then, Tutu's work has been as expected, no, satisfying Darius with more than that.

However, no matter how much Darius used it, his name is not obvious. Tutu himself covered Darius's face, and it was thus unusual for him to show his face directly to the mansion.

"Today, Your Excellency has asked me to report on developments in the Romanian country."

That being said, Toto gave Darius a bunch of paper that he had prepared when he smashed his jaw into a man dressed woman standing behind him.

That was a report from an inside detective that Darius had asked Tutu to do and left to his neighbour, the Romanian State.

The Romanian State is a large country bordering on the eastern border of the Holmeer State. The two countries were each other's haters who had fought repeatedly and repeatedly in the past over a strip of hegemony around here. "If Holmea cries, Romanian laughs, if Romanian cries, Holmea laughs" is a well-spoken word around here that describes the relationship between the two countries.

Darius takes the paperwork and follows with his eyes the letters written there silently for a while.

"... well, you Romanian king. Are you trying to chop up Holmea"

There were details of the names of the nobles who were passing through with the hostile Romanian State while belonging to the Holmeer State and when they exchanged letters with the Romanians.

"I hope so. We frequently exchange letters with Sir Rustiatos and Sir Legnasis."

Darius puts his hand on his chin and thinks of the place in the territory of the nobles to whom Tutu has named.

"You both had Romanias and territories adjacent. Let's go through Romanians when something happens."

"Yes, so I was wondering if it would be okay to look past the Holmeer country unless it was inclined or not"

For the Lords near the border, who do not know when they will be attacked by their neighbours, it was only natural to keep them through goodwill for the sake of saying no. Making it out of business could instead result in driving those lords to neighbouring countries.

"Then the question is Lord Bodine."

Darius gave the name of an aristocrat who, while having territory far from the border, exchanged letters as often as the two he had given earlier.

"Since you are a scatterer, you have been gripped by weaknesses around it, drunk by gold coins, or both"

Darius had a fierce grin on Tutu's words.

"You pigs who sell their motherland..."

Tutu laughs bitterly, thinking of the tragic end that awaits a nobleman blinded by Darius.

Even then, Darius, having finished exchanging some information, nodded satisfactorily to show it.

"It's always a brilliant investigation report. You've always been helped."

"No, I can't thank you enough."

Darius raises the edge of his mouth with a niggle to the toe that he humbly shows to Negiri's words.

"But with this degree of business, it would have been enough to send a messenger, as usual. So, what brings you here today?

"No, do you understand?"

I laugh like a boy with a mischievous prank. But as soon as I got a serious face, I made sure to whisper and say:

"When it comes to Bornis, can you tell?

I wonder where you got the information from, still ears fast.

"I've just heard from someone from the National Army about this morning. Anything, in Bornis, subracial slaves revolted, and the Zoans took over the town, multiplied by the confusion."

Even when it comes to the rebellion of slaves enough to drop the town, it is due to some subraces. The revolt in this hand is horrifying to expand once and for all like wildfires, but even if it was subracial slaves that arose, there is no way that humans living in that area could be in tune. That would be easy to crack down on if we turned to a crusader of that magnitude.

To that extent, there's no way toes know.

Darius continued his words with careful observation of what exactly he was afraid of.

"No matter how much the rebellion of some sub-races, if we leave this alone, we will stir up the slaves of the subraces in the country. Also, in some regions, farmers who are dissatisfied with their lords may use this as an opportunity to plan a rebellion as well. Either way, we should smash it as soon as possible.

Perhaps His Majesty, too, will want it.

There hasn't been a big fight lately either. This would be a good opportunity for young people to set the stage and gain experience. "

"General. May I offer you one piece of advice?

So Tutu blocked Darius's words and said:

"One thing about this Bornis. Don't look sweet."

Darius frowned and stared at Tutu's face, but he wasn't looking like he was joking.

As I stated in advance there, the woman who was behind the toe gives Darius a new report.

"Bornis was preceded by the defeat of the Zoan Crusaders on Hognalea Hill."

Read the report A surprising look appears on Darius's face.

"... Is this the truth?

Darius, having finished reading, said with an incredible face.

"What I wrote was Assistant Squadron Commander Marcronis defending the fortifications of the Sorbiant Plains"

That name Tutu mentioned also sounded familiar to Darius. Indeed, he is a war-torn soldier who ascended from a stream of mercenaries to an assistant squadron leader.

What Tutu offered was part of a plea addressed to the lord of Bornis to seek reinforcements for the replenishment and rescue of medicines that Marcronis lacked. There was a detailed report of the fire that he had heard from the soldiers who had survived the fort and summarised.

That's what Tutu was getting from somewhere.

"It is hard to believe that the Zoans defeated our army with fire...!

Darius has led the army several times to fight Zoan, but there has never been anything like Zoan coming up with a fire attack once before.

"Sure, you're right, but this is true. And since Bornis has fallen, you can be sure that the fort has already been dropped again."

Toe rode out his upper body with no arms and stuffed to Darius.

"General. This Zoan counterattack and slave beeping. In its shadow, someone is pulling a thread."

"Are you a Romanian...?

Romanias are the only ones who can think of trying to do a disservice to Holmea around here.

"I don't know that. But whoever pulls the thread behind a series of incidents. He had just defeated the crusaders in a fire attack, or he instantly dropped the fort and used the slaves to bring Bornis down faster than that report arrived. There's no way this kind of imitation can be done by a single person."

To Tutu's words, Darius wrapped his arms around him and shut himself up against him.

After plenty of time before twenty could be counted, Darius finally unwrapped his arm and said:

"This is going to be resented by the youngsters for 'how long the old body will squeeze out'"

Reading his determination into that sarcastic tale of Darius, Tutu bows his head deeply.

"I know it's a wise decision."

"Fine. Let's play to Your Majesty, and I'll fight myself."

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

In a wheelchair pushed by a man dressed woman, Tutu resigned from Darius's mansion from the back door.

The toe, which was held by a woman on the carriage carrier of a front carriage that had kept her waiting in the back street, lays sluggish on a cushion made of straw wrapped in sheets. And he relaxed and watched as the woman and the man of his lord fastened the wheelchair to the carriage carrier.

In time, a toe with a thirst for throat grabs a leather water bag that had been placed in the corner of the carrier by stretching his legs as he lay asleep. And when I took the plug of the water bag with my toenails on my toes and brought it to my own mouth cleverly and solely on my feet, I tilted the water bag and started drinking the water looking delicious.

Toe, who was putting back on the stopper of a finished water bag, notices a woman who has finished fixing her wheelchair looking at this one with a tight eye.

"Your husband. It's not always anywhere anyone sees it. Don't imitate that."

That being said, when the woman put a thin cloth on the entrance of the carriage on which the front had been placed, she called out to the man and moved the front carriage. Along with a light vibration, in a slow-moving front carriage, it was a toe that looked badly dictated and bitterly smiling, but to the woman's eyes, I notice another emotion shaking.

"Damia. Is there something you want to say as well?

The man dressed woman, called Damia, slightly widened her eyes to surprise, but hesitated for a while to open her tease.

"It's about the heads of the slaves and the Zoans who rebelled in Bornis."

Damia utters her doubts as Toe squeaks her jaw as she tells her to keep going.

"Isn't he the 'hero' your husband said?

One day a hostile "hero" will appear with the Episcopal Church and there will be a great battle.

That was what Tutu once said.

The ecclesiastical religion that is sweeping this continent now is too radical.

To make humans the supreme race, we should look down on other fae races and eliminate them. Because of the strong power of man now, that has gone all the way through, but the occasional outrage will surely cause a great explosion that will one day shake even the continent.

At that time, those who seek to overthrow the Holy Church from among the Fae appear.

That was Tutu's anticipation.

Damia wondered if this beeping between Zoan and the slaves wasn't exactly what Tutu had expected.

But Tutu has not answered Damia's question, but has asked the other way around.

"Hey, Damia. What do you think the Empire got by the sacraments?

Damia thinks for a while, then says the answer she comes up with.

"Is it a reason to attack another race of nations?

"That's just superficial"

But Tutu denied it under a word.

Humans have gained pride and adversaries by the sacraments.

There's a sarcastic grin on Tutu's mouth.

"Humans are not as strong as Dinosaurians. I can't move around freely in the water like Marman. I don't even have high technology like Dwarf. It's not even as beautiful as an elf. I can't run as fast as Zoan. I can't even fly in the sky like Harpuran.

Everyone would have thought deep down that humans were the worst of the seven species.

But the Ecclesiastical Church determined other races to be inferior. I don't need a reason. It's just that humans are the best, and other races are inferior. That was enough for humans who were frustrated by inferiority "

Toe snorted small enough to say it was silly.

"In addition, it depicted and showed a conflicting structure that was easy for everyone to understand: human beings and subraces by ecclesiastics. By giving the pillars of the spirit to say pride and creating a clear enemy called subrace, the Empire brought together the power of the people to create a strong centralized state.

This is what the Empire gained from the sacraments. "

So when Toe takes a bunch of paper out of the box where the various letters were packed, he directs Damia to do so with her toes.

"This speech by the head of the Bornis rebels is really interesting"

It was a detailed report of the "Iron Manifesto" carried out by the Ethereal Horse, sent by the whilst he was making Bornis lurk.

"These are the mixed armies of Zoan and the slaves freed by them. Now it's solidified in fear of humans, but each purpose is different. Zoan would be the protection of his own living area. But the purpose of the slaves is to return to their motherland, to avenge man, or to the city. You won't be able to control it."

While in this land far from Bornis, Tutu was accurately discerning the problems of the Ethereal Horses.

"The easiest way to fight Zoan and those who were slaves is to make the Holmeer nation and man enemies. Defeat Holmeer and kill the humans. Nothing is easier to understand. But these Zoan heads, they didn't. You know what this means?

Toto laughed and said niggling as Damia shook her neck small to the left and right.

"This guy says if we accept what he says is' freedom 'and' equality ', it makes us human beings."

Damia, no way! so I opened my eyes.

"What a cunning guy this guy is! While we make enemies to bind our allies, if we accept our own thoughts, we swallow that even the other person would be the enemy, trying to be stronger and bigger. In front of this guy, there's no such thing as ecclesiastical!

Tutu laughs, couscous.

"You think this guy's a hero? Don't be an idiot. This guy's not such an asshole. This one's even scarier."

Sleeping toe suddenly woke up he seemed to feed into a report he had spread over the carrier.

It's as if you found a pale horse emitting an "iron declaration" there.

"I'm surprised at this. What kind of environment did this guy grow up in? What kind of teaching did this guy get? How does this come to mind? I can't imagine."

Toe, I don't know.

That the Ethereal Horse came from different worlds, that he was a dropper.

that the world where the Ethereal Horse was is home to the world's most powerful multi-ethnic state that binds immigrants of different ethnic groups under the terms of justice, freedom and equality in their own country.

that even though the economy and agriculture are broken, there is a dictatorship that binds its own people by calling for unanimity by creating enemies outside the country.

"So is Master Tutu going to crush the head of the rebellion?

Needless to say, it was also a question of how easy it was to kill without the hassle of putting Darius on it. Toe's hands are long enough to do that, deep enough to dive everywhere.

But Toe shook his head sideways.

"You've been watching for a while."

"Wouldn't that be a bad idea to beat General Darius?

No matter how much momentum is gained, the intrusion is with Zoan the fallen and the slaves who rebelled without thinking later. The next thing they will deal with is a crusader consisting of regular armies from the Holmeer State. The degree of defense of the local city they defeated is not comparable to its equipment or proficiency. Not to mention that it is that General Darius who leads it. It will end without even being able to see how things are going.

But Tutu said, squeaking his nose as small as he made a fool of himself.

"General Darius seems to be crushed every time. It doesn't make any sense."

"When, is...?

General Darius is undoubtedly the best general in the Holmeer country. That's why Tutu even took it into Darius, imitating it like crossing a dangerous bridge. But I didn't know my husband's intention to do such a darius and call it hourly.

"Every now and then. - This leader fought the world against him. We're going to fight the world, so we need to get a kick out of it for General Darius. If you can't do that, it's happier for everyone to disappear quickly."

Damia no longer knows.

Does my own husband expect this head of Zoan? Or are you trying to smash it?

"No doubt General Darius will lead the crusaders. Now, against the best general in Holmea, what does this guy do? I wonder what you're going to show us?

Toe's face, who speaks so, shined with anticipation and joy, as if he were a boy receiving a birthday gift.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

It is reported that Bornis, a city in western Holmea, was fallen by Zoan and the slaves at a meeting in front of King Holmea that took place before noon this day.

King Holmeer's Walius Sadma Holmeanis was furious at this. The anger is tremendous, and King Walius has uttered the following words:

"Raise the neck of Zoan and the slaves on a street called the street!

This fierce anger was not only due to the rebellion waged by Zoan and his subracial slaves, who had insulted him with the beast. King Walius was celebrating his own birthday nearby. I guess the fall of Bornis at this time seemed the greatest insult to himself by Zoan and the slaves.

There was also the wrath of King Walius, and the Crusaders, mainly the Holmeer National Army, were promptly formed.

And it was former Grand General Darius Brutus, the man who was elected its commander-in-chief.
