Hakai no Miko

Episode 61: Showdown 1 - Battleside

Feeling people's signs, the Ethereal Horse woke up.

Already the sun rises from the horizon and the surrounding area is full of noises from which people operate.

And the smell of deliciousness tickled my nostrils. Following that smell, just above the pillow, a large leaf is dished and the dried meat and dough, which has just been flattened with fire, is placed.

Perhaps someone brought me breakfast, and the Ethereal Horse ate in the first place, rubbing her sleeping eyes when she woke up.

After eating, the Ethereal Horse joins hands with one hand and hands with "Chicken Sauce". It was kind of an unsavory breakfast just to say that it was the same dedication as usual, but that there was no Shemr with whom we had always been.

Fixing a broken garment while I was asleep made the noise inside the position more and more obvious. Something happened to this, and the Ethereal Horse hurries to find out what the Gallums look like. Then Gallam, along with the faces that were the lords of Zoog and Dvarin and Jahangil, was at the southern fence where the crusaders came far.

"Good Morning"

Gallum glances at the pale horse who rushed over and greeted him.

"Are you finally up?"

It's because I didn't feel comfortable sleeping last night, but that's no excuse.

"It's going to be a life-threatening battle, but it's a big balls"

"Hmm. What the Admiral wants, it has to be."

Jahangil, who truly received the dialogue Zoog jokingly said, put on his arms and nodded yeah. That, in turn, stirs up shame on the pale horse.

"And how's the Crusaders?

It also makes sense to distract from the conversation, so hurry and check the status quo.

"Until a little while ago, smoke-like smoke was rising, but now it's gone, and the humans gathered in front of the camp."

Ahead of Gallum pointing his finger to say so, the Crusaders had begun to gather roughly in six units.

Firstly, one unit will be formed, centred on a large unit, one at a time, left and right, before and after it, and on the right hand, a little further from it.

Among other things, the biggest force still catches my eye is the one centrally located. Perhaps a majority of the Crusaders are gathered in that unit.

"Those people over there, they all have long spears and big shields. There's no doubt about a man named Marcronis who said he was a heavy-duty spear infantry."

Assuming Garam's right, that should be coming in a dense formation.

In doing so, the troops left to right and behind that heavy-duty spear infantry unit will protect the weaknesses of the dense formation, and the troops in front will be those in the role of opening the end of the battle ahead of the dense formation.

"What is that unit?

What Dvarin pointed out with the axe spear in his hand was a unit located only one way away from the others.

"Perhaps he's alerted to our ambush, or he's attacking us separately from the main unit."

The pale horse who answered that, but he was definitely the unit that would circle in from the west and attack the formation.

Troop deployments appear to be too skewed to the west side in preparation for an ambush. I may be asserting the ambush as coming from the plain, but I don't think so when I look at the solid extraction of enemy commanders so far.

More than that, it seemed reasonable to think of it as a force to help heavy-duty spear infantry units attacking from the south, attacking positions from the west with rocks that were undulating and obstructing and the dense formation of heavy-duty spear infantry was difficult to move.

At that time, the Ethereal Horse notices even though Gallum smashed his tongue into small pieces.

"What's wrong?

Gallum, who didn't think he'd be heard tongue pounding, looks a little awkward.

"It's no big deal. There was a black beast flag..."

The Ethereal Horse also heard that what the Zoans called the "Black Beast" was a flag raised by General Darius.

When I narrow my eyes, I manage to see a black flag flipping (hissing) in the unit positioned behind the heavy-duty spear infantry unit. Then there should be a general there who says Darius.

"There's an enemy general..."

The Ethereal Horse glanced at the troops that would still have an enemy general who did not even know his face.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

As time went by, Darius was also staring at the enemy lines where the pale horses were again.

At last, in front of the Crusaders' camp, where the fights against the rebels were fought, the noise of the shouts of each troop leader skipping instructions and the shoots of the soldiers aligned were overflowing with noise.

But it was in it, and Darius alone in another world, that he was quietly turning his thoughts.

"... Again, that's odd"

Darius poked his cheekstick at the elbow of the chair he had set up in the commander's tank, so he was alone.

What Darius cared about was the number of enemies.

As was reported in the scouts last night, there appear to be roughly a thousand and five hundred rebels in the enemy line. But even if there were ambushes on the enemy, as Darius read, that would only crack a hundred or so troops at best. To that extent, instead of a regiment of heavy-duty spear infantry, I don't even poke and collapse the main unit that I am.

"Aim for my neck, ambush - no, are you going to strike a special attack of abandonment...?

Zoan, who was hunting on the plains, knows he's good at hiding in the grass. If we gather in one place on an exact scale of hundreds, we can't hide, but if we squeeze people into a very small number, we might sneak up pretty close to this squad without finding them. And I doubt the possibility that those people will strike a special attack aimed solely at their necks with abandonment.

But instead of one or eight of those, Darius laughs at himself when he says that if he was willing to fight one chance at a time, he was buying too many rebel heads.

"Increase the number of soldiers alerting your surroundings. Make sure you don't miss a cat."

Calling nearby conductors and giving them instructions to do so.

This also struck a small number of countermeasures to the special attack.

Darius was somehow not clear when he said he had struck that measure on all the measures that the rebels would no longer be setting up.

What the hell am I afraid of?

Darius asks himself, but he can't find the answer anywhere.

"My lord! I'm done forming! All you have to do is wait for Your Excellency's decree!

To the voice of Marius, who has reported by leaning his horse against the tank, Darius turns out the consciousness that was in thought.

Then all the troops were already neatly lined up and waiting for Darius' decree now or now.

But Darius' words were different from Marius' expectations.

"For a while, stay put," and look over your shoulder into the sky. "Just wait for a moment"

"My lord. Why can't you attack me right away?

As far as Marius could tell, the soldiers' morale had increased enough. But if you make me wait too long, that morale will also fall. Naturally, I wanted to know why Darius, who should be familiar with that, wouldn't attack right away.

"Look at that."

With that said, Darius pointed to the enemy formation.

"The enemy builds formations to keep the ground on his side, bearing the north wind and the wind on his side. If..."

Then point your finger towards the sky.

"If we take the sun to our side, we will not be punished."

To the words, Marius, who leaked a small and surprising voice, waves up into the sky. Then there was the sun in position that would come directly behind us attacking the enemy formation in less than a moment. If you attack with the sun on your back, naturally the enemy will have to fight in the backlight.

"That's right, my lord..."

Make sure it's complete.

This is the battle of Darius, who was called Holmeer's best general.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Still don't the Crusaders move?

It's been a long time since the Crusaders formed a formation. But there's no sign of him ever attacking me. Unlike previous ambushes, for the first time, the Ethereal Horse had scratched his cheeks, neck, and sighed from earlier on in tension confronting his enemies who were coming at him with a sense of war.

"Do not put fear or haste on the table for a long-time man who leads a warrior. Just calm down a little."

Advised by the seemingly gulum, the Ethereal Horse was hacked.

The general shall not put his heart on the table. Because the soldiers always see generals leading themselves. If the general is upset, the soldier will be upset, and if the general is at ease, the soldier will be relieved.

I remembered that such a thing was written in the book of military law that I read in the funny half when I was in the Three Kingdoms, etc.

Based on that, the Ethereal Horse, reflecting on what he has said and done so far, sweats cold. Maybe I upset everyone because of me. The Ethereal Horse who thought so looked around in horror, but fortunately I don't see any such signs. On the contrary, I rather even feel the raw and warm gaze of "I don't have a choice" towards myself.

But I also realize that Gallum, Zoog, Dvarin, Jaharngil, etc. around the Ethereal Horse were all the more gracious.

I dyed my cheeks with shame wondering if I couldn't afford such a thing as I'd never realized before. Reflecting that you can't do this, the Ethereal Horse looks around the position again as he takes a slow, deep breath and calms down.

When I did, I felt like I could see things I hadn't seen before.

He was a pale horse who thought that, was that it? and doubt my eyes.

Zoan's warriors lined up around the corner, and they found something that shouldn't be there.

It is a single female warrior, standing disputed by the mighty warriors of Zoan. For Zoan, who fights both men and women if it's a war, it's not uncommon for a female warrior to look familiar to that bright chestnut-haired female warrior.

I stare at you as if you were different. But it really doesn't seem like a mistake.

Then the female warrior, who noticed this gaze, turned away blatantly.

He was still a pale horse who couldn't tell Zoan's face, but if he slept with him for just a few months, he could tell him from the rest of Zoan.

The Ethereal Horse roughed his footsteps and walked over to the female warrior, questioning him without giving him time to escape.

"Shemr...... why are you here?

The closer I look at that woman warrior, the more I only look like Shemr.

"People are wrong, Ides. eagle, your son Janaine"

Obviously answered with a suspicious backvoice, the Ethereal Horse is seriously worried about what to penetrate.

With that gap, the female warrior turned back her heel and fled the sickle and the spot. Ethereal horses rush after female warriors trying to leave early.

"Hey! It's Sheml, isn't it? Shemr, right?"

"People are wrong, Ides. No man, Ides."

Like a broken voice recorder, a black shadow stood in front of a female warrior who ran away repeatedly with the same words.

It is a gallam.

The female warrior turned his back in a hurry to escape, but the outstretched arm of Gallum eagled the collar of his torso armor. In an attempt to escape from that hand, Gallum lifts the warrior with one arm.

"Soma, there's no way this guy's a fang. - See?"

The last word for consent was directed at a suspended female warrior. It is good to see that the grin that Garam had at that time was also very mean to the extent that Zoan's expression became somehow apparent to the Ethereal Horse.

"So, Soudesne..."

"There's no way that he, wearing the letter" Elegant Fang "(bruised) because of his pride, would ignore the life of his" You Under the Umbrella ". Not to mention, when my compatriots blame me for coming back here and in the middle of the night, I would never do anything shameless like ask them to keep their mouths shut desperately"

The Ethereal Horse becomes an indescribable subtle expression.

Behavioral suspicious behavior at that time. It seems to think of Shemr.

"Not to mention there's nothing like putting a prepared breakfast on your pillow so you can't find it right there"

So Gallum tells him to be a laid-back face and throw it away softly and small.

"Damn, where's the maiden in love? That's disgusting."

The Ethereal Horse realized once again that the breakfast he had had this morning had been prepared by Shemr.

Shemru screams when she just can't stand it anymore, even though she gets verbal blame for staying suspended.

"Please. It's the afterlife. Forgive me already, Raging Fangs!

Besides, Gallum, when he snorted a little smaller, threw Shemr off to the ground. Ask Sheml, who punches his butt to the ground and looks painful, the Ethereal Horse leans back and asks.

"Uh... what's wrong with the ambush?

"Banukah said, 'If I were here, I'd be fine. Don't worry,' I said. No problem without me!

No. I thought Ethereal Horse probably didn't mean to just sell himself into Shemr and ask him to leave the ambush to me.

The warriors, who were nearby at that time, supposedly the "family of defilements" with feather decorations imitating defilements on the collar of the torso armor, held their heads gently and decided not to hear them whine, "Hey, I, young lady".

"Plus yesterday, Soma didn't tell me to go to the ambush until the end. So I wasn't ordered to be an ambush."

Completely, it's an excuse for a child. And instead of saying it to the end, the Ethereal Horse shrugged back that it must have been a mistake not to let him say it.

"I mean, we were gonna be together from the beginning..."

Gallum sighs exaggerated at such a pale horse blur.

"Did you just notice?

Garam said smugly as he slapped Shemr's head sitting on the ground with his fist bones for the trick.

"Look, Soma. This guy, they say he's noble or something, but let me tell you, he's just a stubborn, exhausted fool."

Exactly there was a draw, Shemr as Gallum told me, but as he was slapped, but his whole body of hair stood upside down as it represented the magnitude of the anger he was holding back.

"When the previous chief and his wife ordained this guy's handwriting a" noble fang, "I honestly doubted the sanity of both of them. You thought a fool like that would leave 'you under the umbilical' in danger and go somewhere safe just for himself?

If you ask me, I think it sounded too good. It wasn't surprising to see more, given the usual shemlu.

"So I told you you seemed smart and stupid."

The Ethereal Horse finally realizes that's what Garam meant then. Then I wanted you to say it sooner.

"Fierce Tooth! Take soma for an idiot. What is an idiot, an idiot!?"

"Be aware that what you say and do also affects the character of Soma, the 'you under the umbilical', idiot!

I just couldn't stand being called an idiot for an Ethereal Horse. Shemr eats it, but before Garam's argument, he sinks.

That's where Zoog came in.

"Hey, Grand Elder. Later for the crappy sibling fight. The enemy's on the move!

As bounced by the words, Garam and the Ethereal Horse rush back to the fence.

Along the way, the Ethereal Horse felt signs behind him and looked back and noticed that Shemr followed him as usual with a strange face.

Noticing the Ethereal Horse's gaze, Shemr said, "Any complaints?" But as I say, I make a small nose and a musty face.

Besides, the pale horse sighed. I said I entrusted Shemr with the future of the plains, but I don't know what this was all about and trying to convince her. Hardship is also a good place. As a result, the tone of the Ethereal Horse became familiar.

"For what if, I wanted Shemr to be somewhere safe..."

Shemr's answer to that was simple.

"Then you can win. If you win, it will be gone."

To Shemr, who says without any hesitation, the Ethereal Horse beckons.

If that's as easy as it sounds, the Ethereal Horse isn't bothered.

He was a pale horse who tried to tell him even one of his complaints, but the words that came out to the pharynx disappeared into the sieve.

"If you're a soma, you can always win! That's what I believe!

As usual, Shemr is next door, and he tells me so.

That's all, I'm kind of worried about that.

"... right. Let's win."

"That's right! That's my" You Under the Umbrella "!

They laughed at each other.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"My lord, I thought it was time."

Looking up at the sky and checking the position of the sun, when Marius advanced so, he nodded small before Darius ordered the march.

"Proceed, soldiers, to the front of the hill!

First, Darius causes the Crusaders to advance to a position sufficiently distant from the enemy formation.

So once he had stopped all the armies, Darius lifted his hips out of his chair, he became a benefactor on the chariot and gave the decree to all the armies.

"Strike the drum! Raise your voice!

A soldier beats the big drum that was put behind the tank with his full strength. When the sound of the big drum trembling the atmosphere sounded, it was followed by the horn blowing, and the bronze (which) made a loud noise.

And the soldiers raise their voices as they poke the ground with the stone of the spear in their hands.

"" Ooh! Whoa! Whoa!! "

That's the sound of thousands of people raising their voices together.

Inkdias, once the famous general of the Empire, says:

"The ancient ritual of opening a war, in which the horn is sounded and the soldier whispers, is by no means meaningless. Because it frightens the enemy and boosts the morale of your allies."

And the Ethereal Horse was swallowed by it.

If it was just loud audio, you'd just be surprised at the size of it. But what that voice contains is a clear hostility. Thousands of human beings were pressed by the loud voice that was going to kill you, and the Ethereal Horse lowered back.

Someone's hand gently supports such a pale horse's back.

It was Shemr.

Tell Shemr it's okay now with his eyes, and then the Ethereal Horse tells Garam.

"Mr. Gallum, this one too!

"Whoa! Here too, raise your voice!

Poke up your right hand with the mountain knife that Gallum pulled out.

Then the Zoan warriors raised their voices as they stepped on the spot.

"" Whoa, whoa!

And that was followed by Dwarves and Dinosaurians, who also raised their voices as they slapped their weapons and chest armor.

To be pushed back by the heat, the Ethereal Horse also cried out as far as his voice was concerned.

Darius nodded satisfactorily at the roar of his enemies.

"Confronting several times our own enemy forces, its intentions and brilliance! But you can't win a battle just out of your mind. -Transmit to Cassius! Open the end of the war!

Darius' life-taking conductor headed under Captain Cassius, who would keep the Archer's troops. Cassius, who received that decree, slaps one on his chest and shows it.

"Tell Your Excellency! Just this Cassius, let's kick some traitors in."

In that euphemism, Cassius advanced the Archer Battalion.

Battles in this age often begin with the reward of arrows.

Each other's armies will bring forward their archers, releasing arrows at their most critical distance. Naturally, the arrows released diagonally upwards to extend the range fly into the mountains, so under the influence of wind and other influences, the hit rate is poor, and the momentum of the arrows is lost. For this reason, it is done for the purpose of causing the number to say things and barrage rather than target the enemy, disrupting the formation of the enemy, and towing it.

But this time the opponents are Zoan or Dwarf or Dinosaurian. They are all a species that specializes in white soldier warfare and are known for not using many bows and arrows.

So Cassius decided to shoot arrows from closer to the enemy formation than usual, also taking into account that it was a headwind.

But it is a time when we have come much further than that. From the enemy formation, I saw something jump to the sky in momentum.

It reminds Cassius of the sight of a fly swarming with field-eating inago and corpses forming a herd and flying.

But who it was, it was something more vicious.

"No way...!?"

By the time something that flew the enemy formation came towards us so as to cover it overhead, Cassius' ears had heard a sound that could not be misheard if he were captain of the Archers.

"Soldier! Put up your shield! An arrow! An enemy attack!!"

While Cassius's cry was over or not, countless arrows came down like rain making a tall noise tearing the air apart.

"Stupid!? Why, the enemy has archers!

Besides, it's a very highly smelled archer unit. I know the chase wind is increasing the flight distance. But it was an exact shooting, as if I had read through the unseen wind flow, even though it was no surprise that it was so windy.

The archers of Cassius's Archer Battalion were followed by one shielded soldier defending the enemy's shooting weapons, but with just dozens of arrows intensively bathed, it's impossible to prevent all of them with just one shield. The archers, with their soldiers, were arrows all over their bodies and were defeated one after the other.

"We're wiped out like this! Fire!

The Archer Squad was confused, but under the orders of this Captain Cassius, several desperately respond with arrows. However, such sporadic arrows do not frighten the enemy. All that or most of the arrows were stalled under the wind across the street, just poking slightly at the ground in front of the enemy formation.

Cassius was also confident in his eyes that he would only lead the archers. I gazed into its eyes to at least see what an enemy archer looked like, and I saw an unexpected figure in the enemy formation.

"Stupid! Is that...!?"

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

I could see how the archer battalion on my side was confused, even from Darius's far rear. In this unexpected situation, officers and conductors rush out around Darius to grasp the status quo.

There came a horse of conductors from the front line.

"A decree! Herald!"

The conductor who kicked the dirt and came under Darius reports to Darius from on horseback.

"To the enemy, there is an army of archers! Our archers are devastated! I'm retreating!

The Brigadier was right, and Cassius' Archer Battalion, which was supposed to rain arrows on the enemy lines and open the end of the battle, was beginning to retreat, with little or no arrow fire.

"What the hell happened!? Are the archers in my Holmeer country weak soldiers like you get kicked in easily with every Zoan archer!?"

To Darius, whose voice is absurd by the incompetence of the soldiers, the conductor trembles, but still opens his mouth to do his part.

"Captain Cassius has sent word to tell His Excellency."

So the conductor says slightly. Because he himself had a thought that no way.

"'In the enemy line, there is an elf archer'..."

Darius was silent for a moment, then raised his voice of surprise.

"It's an elf!?"

As has been said in many fantasy works, the elves of this world are also famous for their birth bows. Elf's brilliant archers were even said to be comparable to the ten human archers.

That is enough to mention "Arrow Rewards with Elf Archers" as one of the mistakes that Inkdias, the famous general of the Empire, should not make on the battlefield.

But that wasn't the only reason Darius was surprised.

Because the elves in the enemy formation did not know where they had sprung up from.

It is known that there are Zoan and Dwarves in this area with the Sorbiant Plains and the Holmea Country, but I never heard of the elves. Only a few of them were thought to have flown from somewhere, but being in the enemy formation is very unlikely to be that number.

Darius considered this rebellion to be an outburst inspired by the Zoan crusade.

But if we were to have brought in the elves in a far away land, we suspect it could have been a rebellion over a more far-flung plan.

Darius thought most of the rebels were in the enemy formation, but suspected that maybe a force he didn't know, like an elf archer, was hiding somewhere as an ambush.

"Increase the number of vigilant soldiers around. There may be a massive enemy raid!

But it was an error.

Darius Brutus is a general who finds shame in openness and justice.

Whether he tolerates persecution or crusade against the Fae as a national policy, he himself does not have any such bad feelings towards the Fae. That's all multiplied by national policy, even frowning at those who persecute useless fae.

That is why Darius unconsciously drove them outside of his thoughts.

There were those whom Darius did not count as a force of war, even though he knew they were there.

Those whom Darius has driven out of his thoughts.

It is the women of the elves who were kept or brought into the city of Bornis as sex slaves.
