Lesson 10: Land

"Lend me some land."

To the sudden remarks of the Ethereal Horse, the Zoans leaned their necks uniformly.

For the Zoans, a plain land is a place to live and a place to hunt. But the human, the Ethereal Horse, is awake in the city's lord's residence, and there is no need to hunt because food is served by Shemr. Yet I didn't know why I bothered to say I wanted to rent the land.

Garam also puzzled, questioning the Ethereal Horse about his intent to speak (just) quality.

"Rent the land, what the hell are you going to do?

"We'll pioneer it and make it farmland."

There is an evil air between the Zoans in this pale horse's answer.

Even though it's my father's land I've regained because of it, it's speechless for Zoan, such as pioneering it. The Holmeer State took the plain from Zoan in the first place in order to pioneer it there. I reclaimed the plain because of its Holmeer state, but I no longer know what I reclaimed the plain for, such as wanting to pioneer it. It's not so easy to talk about how much a pale horse regained the plain as a great benefactor.

On this sleeping ear, the story of water, Gallum said, "You knew!" and turned his eyes to Shemur. Shemr then makes a desperate appeal that she heard herself too for the first time by shaking her neck in full.

Zoan went out of his way to confuse the two sons of the Great Sheikh and the God of the Beast.

It was Zoog who controlled it. He said in a painful tone as he rattled the sound of hitting his knee hard into the tent to get everyone's attention.

"I understand Lord Soma's thoughts on the plains where we Zoan are our fathers' lands. First of all, shouldn't we be questioning its sincerity?

This Zug statement sounds like it takes in the Ethereal Horse, but the fact of the matter was that it stabbed a big nail to speak out knowing Zoan's thoughts on the plain. The Zoans, who perceived it, shut their mouths and turn their gaze to the Ethereal Horse.

Feeling the gaze of all the Zoans present on this occasion gather to themselves, the Ethereal Horse answered correctly his abode.

"To win,"

To an answer that is too terminal, the Zoans look at each other without understanding the intentions of the Ethereal Horse. After looking around at the faces of such bewildered Zoans, the Ethereal Horse continued the conversation.

"I think Zoan is a much stronger species than humans."

Zoan's warriors nodded to the abrupt content, as they said, "Naturally." But to the words of the next Ethereal Horse, the Zoans will have a uniformly sinister face.

"But then why did Zoan lose to humans and go after the plains?

That is the least touchable fact for the Zoans, who brazenly say that human beings and others cannot be defeated by individual forces.

Gallum opened his mouth when everyone shut up with a bumpy face.

"The power of man is that number. And I knew how to make use of it in battle. But we, Zoan, knew our power, but we didn't know how to use it in battle. That's why we lost to humans."

Humans created a mass tactic of soldier numbers and making the most of them, while Zoan knew how fast their legs were, but stuck to the old way of fighting each other bumping from the front without trying to take advantage of it.

As he fought under the command of the Ethereal Horse, Gallum, who had been noticed by it, looked back at himself only a short while earlier and spoke with self-derision.

To such a gallam, the Ethereal Horse asked further.

"The power of man, number. - Does that mean that humans have a large number?

"Oh. Right...?

I didn't understand why I would be pushed to be mindful of something so obvious, but Gallam affirmed the words of the Ethereal Horse. Then, furthermore, the pale horse asked.

"So why do humans have so many?

No one could answer that question.

It is no longer common sense in the Continent of Cerdeas to say that the number of human beings is high. I would never consider the reason for that in such a very common sense.

After waiting awhile to make sure no one would raise their voice, Ethereal Horse said.

"It's because of the food."

In fantasy novels and comics known by Ethereal Horses, the human race was regarded as highly adaptable and reproducible, instead of being so uniquely capable as to be sure.

And even in this continent of Cerdeas, the human race still seems to be so.

However, as far as the Ethereal Horse looked into it, with the exception of the long-lived elves, it was not that humans in this world were prolific or had a shorter gestation period than other races, and no difference could be found as much as was said.

Yet, for some reason, the human race is considered highly reproducible, and that is what makes this world common sense. And the fact is, the population of the human species in this world is overwhelming other races.

Why have we made so much difference in that population when there is no significant difference in its fertility compared to other species?

The first thing that came to mind by the Ethereal Horse considering why was the difference in food productivity.

The biggest factor suppressing the population is said to be food.

Population growth after mankind's transition from hunting and gathering to farming and livestock, taught in school history classes. In Wright Novell's otherworldly fantasy, population growth, also known as the demographic revolution brought about by the Norfolk farming method, which has no longer become a classic farmland reform law.

All show that the population has exploded as a result of increased food productivity.

If the same thing could be said in this world, the Ethereal Horse thought that the population might be growing because humans are not more fertile, but more food productive than other species.

And when I spoke to the representatives of each race beforehand, it should be said that non-human species were still basically hunting and gathering, and had only begun farming in a small part of them.

Then I've decided to do it.

If a man comes at us with a number of interests, then you can take away his interests.

Explore the Sorbiant plains to increase food production and increase the number of people of different races as well as humans. More people, more soldiers. If we don't even lose the number of soldiers, we can't lose to ourselves, a multiracial mixed army that overwhelms humans in individual abilities.

The Ethereal Horse believed that the pioneering of the Sorbiant Plains was a path that could never be avoided in order to win the showdown against the Holmeer country, which would one day be bound to be visited.

Also, it's not just from those long-term plans that Ethereal Horses say they want to rush to pioneer. Even in the short run, there was a reason I had to do it.

"If you could lend me the land, I'd like to offer you a portion of the tax I earned from pioneering it as a rental fee for the land."

Zoan's warriors are hunters at the same time. We must go out hunting to get food for our families and those of our families. However, there is a risk, then, that there will be a shortage of warriors to make it permanent in the city, in the current situation where we do not know when the Holmeer State will attack us. In addition, if the battle prolongs, even if it does not, there will be a shortage of food for the families and the clans, creating distress in the rear.

In order not to do so, we do not have to hunt to secure as much food as the Zoan warriors and their families can eat. It's also a pioneer for that.

The Zoans were only puzzled by this suggestion of a pale horse. That was because it was too far from Zoan's common sense.

The troubled Galam asked Shemr for his opinion.

"It's an exalted fang. What do you think of Soma's suggestion?

Shemr panics at the sudden question thrown at him.

"Mmm.... right. If all of a sudden you ask me to lend you land, I don't think I can help but get lost. but if you can make Soma's wish come true, so will I."

After all, I couldn't say how much of your wish is under the umbilical cord, and even Shemr couldn't say how easy (easy) it is to lend me the land. To the cloudy shemle of words, Gallam asks overlapping.

"My son, I'd like to know your thoughts."

Gallam called it his son, not his name, not his letters. Besides, Shemr realizes that he is asked to speak as his Son, protected in pride by the grace of the God of the Beast.

But still, Shemr couldn't answer instantly.

If this were about him, Shemr would have answered without showing him anything. But I couldn't even tell Shemr exactly if lending the plains to the Ethereal Horse would contradict Zoan's pride.

Shemr's grace is to protect his pride, while at the same time saying that he will not be able to act as proud of himself or herself again. It means that the spearhead of grace, which smothered the squadron leader of a plain fort who once tried to humiliate her, is being directed at herself at the same time.

If lending the plains to the Ethereal Horse for pioneering purposes is an unacceptable act against Zoan's pride, Shemr could also be stuffy on this occasion once he agrees. Even if it's not so deadly, it can only make the Ethereal Horse's position worse if it's hampered by grace to speak out in agreement. Shemr's grace is also no different than that of a pale horse in that he says it will not be what he thinks it is.

That's right. Shemru also felt an unpleasant sweat all over her body.

However, Shemru noticed the Ethereal Horse looking at him with a trusted eye, without even knowing that such a grid was dew. Besides, Shemr also decides to be ready.

Weren't you prepared to suffer all the sins together, which Soma would have done originally?

I told myself so, and Shemr stretched his spine, telling him with a clear voice.

"Without Soma, we still wouldn't have been able to get even a handful of land back. Instead, it's not weird that we're in a better position to get land. No, that would be natural. And yet Soma is asking us to return all the plains without asking for any price, and to lend us land on them. I think rejecting this without a headache is a serious act in the proud Zoan."

"Is that to your child's pride?

Shemru tends his chest with perseverance and hands on his left chest, even though Gallum pushes further.

"Whatever. Take my life and pride."

An exclamation sigh leaks from among the Zoans at the figure of Shemr, who asserts himself with his own heart.

And Shemru was secretly relieved (mostly) of not being prevented from doing so by his own grace. If it were to make the Ethereal Horse's position worse because of his grace, Shemr would have dropped his bare neck and apologized.

But that's all I'm prepared for, and on the face of a pale horse who's nicotine with no way of realizing it at all, Shemr, who comes a little but irritated, sneaks up on that ass. Shemr also lowered his drink to a pale horse who surprised him with his eyes blackened and white by this unexpected retribution.

Contrary to that, it is Gallum who is likely to hold his head.

If I told you so much, it would have been easier for Shemr to deny me here. For I could refuse to go against the pride of Zoan, not to mention the great grace of the Ethereal Horse.

But if it doesn't go against Zoan's pride, it will later be left to Garam and others discretion.

I can also understand what the Ethereal Horse is saying, but it is a story that cannot be so easily accepted because it is visible that many Zoans rebel against it.

When Gallum was worried, the support flew from the unexpected to the Ethereal Horse.

"Great Sheikh. This is the first request of a new king. Can't just say no without a bottom line?

It was Bararak, who had kept silence until then.

Bararak's statement that he felt most bitterly about taking office as King of the Ethereal Horse is incredible. Garam sees Bararak with suspicious eyes.

But Bararak continued often with a white eye on Garam.

"I don't think it's easy for us, the chiefs, to lend the realm of our families."

The chief of Zoan is not an absolute ruler like the king of man. It is only about those who represent their families. Even a chief is not allowed to imitate anything contrary to the general intent of his family.

"But isn't there a land that's just right, empty (ah) to lend?

Garam, who sensed what Barak was about to say, wrinkled his nose. Besides, Bararak laughs nitarily.

"That's right. It's the land of the tail."

Five families once lived on this Sorbiant plain, of which the "Tail Clan" was the first family to be damaged when the Holmeer State attacked, as it made the southern part of the plain an area. Having been deprived of most of the realm, the "Tail Clan" has since disappeared without being present, and the news has not yet come to light.

And his family is the same Zoan, whose brethren have divided their blood differently. As for Gallum, I was thinking of staying out of the realm of the former "Tail Clan" so that I could come back whenever I wanted.

However, when it comes to lending land to Ethereal Horse, it is also true that it is less cumbersome to lend the vacant (Tail Clan) land than to shred the realm of their own clan.

Furthermore, Bararak has been on the chase.

"The land that once had the [Tail Clan] is also close to this city. Isn't that more convenient for the new king?

In response to that word, the Ethereal Horse asks Shemr to tell us where it was the realm of the "Tail Clan". Then, it was close to the city, an area where many pioneering villages already existed, and where, as Barak put it, something was convenient for the Ethereal Horse.

Having found out about it, Gallum, who was getting tired of being positive about renting the realm of the "Tail Clan," asks for his opinion when he sees Zoog, who has been silent for a long time with a difficult face from earlier.

"What do you think of Angry Claws?

Zoog, who had lost his mind, was pointing water at Gallam and returned it to me.

"... hmm? - Yeah."

Zug asks the Ethereal Horse after his head is ripped apart.

"Hey, Lord Soma. I just wanted to make sure..."

"What is it?

"He said he'd pioneer the plains and cost us some of the food he could take there, but how are you going to distribute it?

The Ethereal Horse, who was only going to make a suggestion that he wanted to rent the land, did not even think about it until the distribution. On the spot, think for a while before proposing a reasonable place.

"I think there is a difference in the number of people in the family, but I hope you distribute them equally among the four families"

"Hmm. - I'll check one more thing, but that's only the price of lending land, right?

I didn't know what Zoog was going to say, but the Ethereal Horse answers honestly.

"Yes. Are you going to?

"I see. Right..."

That's what I said, Zoog got silent again with his arms around him. Then I think he looked like he was going to have a little difficulty for a while, and he hits one of his own knees.

"All right! I've made up my mind."

"What the hell did you decide? Angry Claws."

Zoog laughs like a prank boy and then turns back to the pale horse when he comes to Garam, wary of saying something else.

"Lord Soma. I have one suggestion -"

When Zoog slightly frowned, he stripped his fangs and laughed.

"- I can persuade the clan later, but I want to open up and lend some of the Claw Clan's territory."

No one has even imagined telling me to sharpen even my own clan's land, and even Gallum, who was wary of saying something without any clapping, suddenly loses his word. Needless to say, for the others.

The exchange between the Ethereal Horse and Zug continued while the Zoans on the spot were stunned.

"It would help if you did, are you sure?

"Whatever. - But you're lending my family land, so you can assume that all the price you get from it belongs to my family, right?

"Well, I guess that's natural."

"Then it's good"

The two of you go on to clap and finally crack the gallam back to me and go in.

"Hey, wait a minute!

Although it was good to break it in, Gallum, who couldn't think of what to say, blamed Zoog anyway.

"Shit, are you insane, Zoog?!"

Gallum was so upset that he imitated in a public place called the Chieftain Consultation that he would lose the courtesy of calling a warrior by name who would receive letters (bruises). Are you happy with the way such a gallam panics, Zoog says with a rough nose when his chest is stretched.

"Whoa, that's insane."

Then Zoog said with a firm nod as he put his arms together.

"I think the more you listen to Lord Soma, the better. I also thought it was a good opportunity, and when I tried to fight, I was told that a dependable warrior was going hunting, and how many times was I moaning? Let's also intensify our fight against humans. It's a shame they take precious warriors for hunting. If I don't hunt, I'll have trouble with food. But with Lord Soma's suggestion, we can immerse ourselves in battle without worrying about food."

Gallum also understands what Zoog is saying. But still, as Zoan, I can't help disputing the unacceptable proposal.

"But hunting is important to us Zoan."

Hunting means more to Zoan than getting daily food, such as a gesture to obtain marital forgiveness or a ritual to become a warrior.

"Regardless, I am aware of that. However, the number of family members is also significantly lower than in the past (uncle). We shouldn't need as much land as we used to. Then it's not a problem to leave a part of it with Lord Soma."

If they say so, Gallum can no longer argue either.

"Okay, Angry Claws. You agree to lend Soma the land of the Tail Clan, don't you?

"Ouch! Agreed, too, agreed. I agree."

To Zoog, who answers so brightly and joyfully, Gallum nevertheless communicates his concerns.

"So what are you going to do, assuming the Tail Clan returns?

"I don't think those tough guys are going to ask me to split the realm with the scarecrow now. Well, then, we should open the Chieftainship Consultation again. Anyway, we have a decision to make when we get the plains back. - Besides. I think if this works, we won't need that much land. Well, if the Tail Clan comes back, can we work it out?

Yeah, when Zoog tells me, I somehow feel fine.

After realizing that feeling, Gallum put a smile on his mouth.

When did I ever call myself a beast and trust Zoog to despise me at the same time as I fear him? I once didn't put it on the table as much as Zoog did, but now I wish to fight shoulder to shoulder, even though I still say that I had a lot of confrontation as a warrior to be honored side by side in the same age.

All that or if you think that you have been helped more than once by Zoog, who instead of being trapped by Zoog's pride and customs, moves you into action without hating (or even hating) to be stigmatized, this time you want to firmly cement Zoog's foundation and even let Zoog ramble you around as he pleases.

Gallum watched Zoog with trust, feeling so strange about his destiny as he had changed.

Then, realizing Gallum's gaze, Zug moved his butt back and forth looking uncomfortable and said:

"Weird eyes, don't look at me. It's disgusting. Something's gonna make your ass holes tickle."

Garam had a fierce sense of hatred.

Until now, I must have lost my mind. I'm determined to be lost. I'll definitely settle with this guy someday.

Gallum told himself so strongly.

Barak speaks out in a panicked manner to Garam, who was secretly making such determination be regarded.

"Hey, wait a minute! I'm telling you, we're not going to lend our own land!

Barak feared that he might even be loaned his family's land, just as Zoog did. While recommending the land of the [Tail Clan] to the Ethereal Horse, when it reaches and does so to the land of his own clan, it immediately turns back to Ballarak, who imitates the flat hand.

"Oh. I know."

Gallam then turned his water towards Schnupa, who had previously refrained from speaking.

"What do you think, Master Shunupa?

From the top of the cloth that covered his mouth, Schnuppa put his finger on every one of them, and often thought about it and opened his mouth.

"I do find it an unacceptable suggestion for many. But not on a massive scale like this one, there have been stories in the past that have allowed people who have befriended Zoan to build tree houses on the plains and make fields. It's not always unacceptable. And above all -"

So Shunupa sees Shemr.

"- I have the ink of your son's grace. I can't take the initiative to honor the Eye Clan who presides over the sacrifice, but I honestly believe that there is no opposition."

Now the claw clan and the flesh clan have agreed, and the eye clan has been put on hold. If this happens, we can't help but disagree with the Fang Clan.

That's right, the belly-up Gallum takes a decision on the consultation.

"Let's decide in the name of the Chieftaincy Council to lend Soma the land that was the domain of the" Tail Clan ""

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Subsequently, a number of projects were discussed in the Chieftainship Consultation, including the drawing of lines in the area of the clan and the preparation of future battles. All of them were important projects that could never be approximated, but just before that, we had just discussed the importance of Ethereal Horse's clan king assault name and the development of the plain, and it was resolved surprisingly that it was only felt in some final (nasty) cases, and there was no objection.

After the chieftaincy consultation, it is customary for a banquet to be held in order to flush the rice balls in the water at the consultation venue. However, Bararak said that he had to return to his family as soon as possible, so he was to escort Bararak straight to the city gate.

After another spectacular queue and dropping off Bararak leaving the city, Zug said, "Before the banquet, he comes to tell the families about the land. Lord Soma, looking forward to the good news," he said to the Ethereal Horse, going willingly under his own family.

"I will also ask the clan if I can lend some of the realm, but clearly, I think it is difficult to lend the clan land. That's all you need to know."

Gallum also tried to leave, saying so, but stopped his leg.

"Oh, the important thing is, if you don't tell him in advance, we'll be in trouble."

I had a grudge. I did my gaze to the Ethereal Horse, and then Garam turned his back and walked out.

The Ethereal Horse, left on the spot only by Shemr and the two of them, now asks, "Was it a bad idea?" When I think of it, I'm even bewitched by Shemr.

"Raging Fangs is right. Yeah, well, at least I wanted to talk to you in advance."

The Ethereal Horse sweats a cold sweat on Shemr, who says somewhat emphatically the "just me" part.

"Anyway, I don't know if it would be more hassle to say it when we're all here - I don't know..."

"Damn, when you come..."

When you consider an opponent an enemy, you peek right into the sweet part when you think of it as an ally in the habit of Shemr thinking surprisingly different hands. Odd, I guess I was thinking to the point that if I explained it properly, everyone would understand. He sounds like a pale horse, but it's a bad habit.

"But look, Mr. Bararak seems to have figured it out on the way."

To the Ethereal Horse who makes such an excuse, Shemru makes a grand appearance.

"Sounds like you still don't get Zoan's look, Soma"

"A look?"

Shemr nodded forcefully and answered as the pale horse asked him back.

"That's right. That was a face that was never going to be good."

Yes, Shemr assured me, just then.

Among the queues of the "Families of Takeshi" who followed the city of Bornis to the plains, Bararak, riding alone, laughed alone in what Shemr called "the face when he was thinking of things from good to not.

"What's the big chief? What is it, the King of the Nation? Makes me laugh. Besides, I thought Zoog was stupid, but I don't think that much. You're offering your own family land for exploration? I just think you're out of your mind."

When Ethereal Horse asked me to lend her land for pioneering, Barak was also furious and about to yell.

But the only reason I didn't actually do that was because Gallum and the others were furiously upset.

From the start of the consultation until then, Bararak, who had been intercepted by Sangaram and Zug, had managed to offer them a return of interest. When he saw Gallam get so upset by the sudden remarks of the Ethereal Horse, Barak found a gap to follow.

"Even if some bad wisdom turns, it's human at best. We don't understand Zoan's feelings about the plains."

It's hard for Zoan to accept how good that human kid is. Now suppressed by Garam and Zug, but the more you do something, the more dissatisfaction you get inside Zoan. Those who now obey adults will only ever meet the limits of patience.

Imagining that time, Bararak, who became delighted, leaked a small laugh.

"But there's no art in waiting for nothing."

When so alone, he invites the warrior chief who was near the one he rides.

"Gather the warriors, especially the nosy ones, and come under me later"

"Understood, chief. - But what do you do, gather such warriors?

"Let the wind blow."

Bararak groans his tongue.

"It's a nearly extinguished spark now. But this one is windy, and it's a hell of a fire. Let the spark be fomented by the wind. Would that be interesting?

In front of a confused warrior chief who didn't know what the hell he was talking about, Bararak shook his shoulders small again and laughed.
