Hakai no Miko

Episode 17: Doubt

Returning from the island to Jeboa, the Ethereal Horse asked Joash the next day if he knew anyone who seemed to know the children of Marman.

"Do you want to ask me about it?

At first, Joash turned his eyes to surprise, then said as if he had turned back.

"It's the merchants of Jeboa who are suspected of knowing all about Merman's children. I can't believe you asked me that."

I can't help but feel the tone that Joash gets used to. The question of the Ethereal Horse is like telling him to expose the disgrace in his body.

I understand that too, Ethereal Horse. But there is no one else in Jeboa who can count on Shapiro Chamber of Commerce parents and children. In order to make friendship with Marman as soon as possible, I had to lean on Joash, even though I knew I couldn't.

Joash shrugs his shoulders and shakes his neck small, left and right, just like he said, "Oh, man."

"Well, I'll tell you as soon as I hear the rumors of the city."

Joash told him after he prefaced so.

"Probably Lord Judah."

The name also sounded familiar to the Ethereal Horse. He's one of the ten commissioners who was showing opposition to friendship with himself. However, I have the impression that it showed more passive opposition than Jacob or Cornelius in the same opposition, one step back. Maybe it was an act, actually cleverly standing around in the back?

Frankly telling that, Joash gave it back with a bitter smile.

"Acts and such are outrageous! Lord Judah, as you can see."

Joash says Judah is not originally a talented merchant. It is thanks to his father that he is named for one of the ten commissioners, he said.

Judah's father was just an adult to be called a masterpiece. He is in the midst of building a small liquor store inherited from his father into one of today's most prestigious geborgs.

But Judas, the third generation who succeeded him, was a man who was weak and lacked decisiveness. Sometimes commerce has to be attacked. But Judah just defended her current business and didn't try to go on offense. Though it was not a major failure, he said that the business had become a little smaller and had finally made the store tilt.

"We saw Lord Judah go bankrupt, not far away. - But Lord Judah has just rebuilt a store that has been raising huge sums of money from somewhere to lean on, or he has begun to deliver liquor to the Royal Palace in the Holmeer Country, which has increased and made business bigger before. Naturally, we also became interested."

Even though he is the same Jevoah merchant, he is a merchant enemy at best. If the merchant enemy raised funds from somewhere, there was no way we could find out where that funding came from. Judah had also hidden the source of the funds, but not from the eyes of the luxury merchants of Haiqian Mountain Thousand.

"Slave Merchant Pyremon"

It was the name of the man Judah came into frequent contact with since he began to obtain financial assistance.

"Pyremon is a slave trader for the Royal Palace of Holmea. I'm not a very reputable person. If you can't pay back the money you loaned, you're a rumored greedy until you cut the person's meat instead of gold. There's no way that those people lend money for no purpose."

Joash whispers there.

"Perhaps in return for helping Marman smuggle."

"If you know that much, you can find out by checking out the caravan of the guy who says Judas or something like that, right?

It was Shemr who pinched his mouth from the side, and Joash returns it with a bitter laugh.

"Actually, someone thought so..."

It was one of Jeboa's extravaganza, which was more aimed at the seat of a ten-member committee than ever before. The merchant thoroughly inspected Judah's caravan's load in order to kick Judah off the seat of the ten-member committee.

"Still, Judah still remains a ten-member commissioner, which means..."

To the question of the Ethereal Horse, Joash nodded coldly.

"Yeah, we didn't find Marman among the caravans."

He questioned one of the ten commissioners who essentially controlled Jeboa and stopped the caravan until he checked the load. The luxury store said it was the blood eye that searched for Merman's child. However, the figure of Merman's child could not be found.

It was a luxury that was looking to become a ten-member commissioner, but instead I had to leave Jeboa in the form of a half-expulsion, citing Judah's request for an apology for stopping the load and its compensation.

"That has happened, and it is long overdue to speak of suspicion of Lord Judah among Jeboa merchants."

I doubt it, but I can't find any definitive evidence. Joash added at the end that if he hands poorly, it would be a two-legged dance for the banished luxury merchant.

"Mr. Joash himself thinks the suspicion that Mr. Judah is smuggling Marman's child is true?

Finally, the Ethereal Horse asked for Joash's opinion.

"It's just a personal view-"

That's right. Forward, then Joash assures me.

"- It's black, close to black without limits."

If Merman is to be transported ashore on his own, he will need only such means of transport as manpower and luggage. If you go out of your way to prepare just that for Merman transportation, it's like hustling around Merman smuggling yourself.

Merman's children, who are smuggled into it at once, are often easier to find, and just one or both of them don't fit the bill. Probably carry four or five people at a time. But even when it comes to just four or five children, it's impossible for a small caravan to get enough of a place to hide it.

In other words, smuggling Merman's children will require a caravan on a scale that is not suspected of going to the Holmeer country many times, and yet can only secure a place where the children can be hidden.

"And Lord Judah has it."

According to Joash, he regularly operates a caravan that has towed a large barrel-laden luggage to the Great Dragon to deliver wine and more to the Holmeer Royal Palace and the Horsemen. Exactly, to smuggle Merman's children is to dress up as a caravan.

"But, as I said earlier, we haven't found Merman's children after going through this caravan."

With all the lifting, Joash shrugged his shoulders and showed them.

Having heard all the suspicions about Judah, the Ethereal Horse thinks in with a pair of arms.

The more I listen to you, the more I just think Judah is chewing one on Marman's kidnapping. I guess that's why the extravaganza that came out of Joash's story made him look into Judah's caravan ready to destroy himself, too.

But still, I couldn't find Marman's kid who was compromised.

Where the hell is it hidden?

Zoog opens his mouth where everyone has thought.

"If you can't find them in the caravan, why don't you just hold down the Merman kids before you put them on the caravan?

If you don't know what kind of hand you're using, but you'll be so cleverly hidden that you won't find it after a thorough examination, you just have to find it before you do.

Everyone turns an admirable eye to what should also be a shift in Zoog's ideas.

That was no exception with Gallum. But I noticed my own gaze like that, and Zoog said, "What do you say, wow?" But when he spreads his nostrils and his chest is stretched out, he gets stuck. "

"... fools sometimes say good things too"

"Hey, Gallum. Are you selling me fights?

Suddenly he hit his chest and started staring at each other. Ignoring the two, the Ethereal Horse proceeds with the story.

"I think Mr. Zoog's opinion makes sense, too. Besides, the exposed children, probably near the city - it should also be hidden close to the sea. If you can restrict your location, you can't be looking for it."

I took Merman's children to sell them off as precious slaves. For this reason, it is also necessary to take good care of the children so that they are not badly harmed or allowed to die.

And that's essential for the sea water that wets Marman's body and the fish that feeds him. The farther away we are from the sea, the easier it will be for people to see with the effort of carrying such seawater and fish. Given that, it is likely that hiding the exposed children is not too far from the coast or the sea.

"If you're Mr. Judah, don't you own a mansion as big as you can hide Merman's children, or a harbor warehouse or something?

While nodding to the idea of the Ethereal Horse, Joash denied it.

"I agree with you that it's close to the sea, but you won't hide it in the mansion or warehouse you own"

Merman's children are like bombs that destroy themselves at the same time as they are an important commodity. Joash says it's inconceivable that Judas, the little one, would keep that stuff close to him for a long time.

"A little away from the city of Jeboa, there are several rocky coasts that are hard for people to see. If I were Lord Judah, I would hide it there until just before the caravan leaves."

If you're a little carriage enough to hide every person from the outskirts of the city of Jeboa, you can use Judah's chamber of commerce name to make a small city gate or so bare. He also has the hand of letting night police soldiers grab the money and sneak it in at night. Or maybe we're meeting outside the unseen city and loading Merman's kids into the caravan, Joash said.

"Well, then, we have a policy."

After saying so, the Ethereal Horse looked around at everyone's face.

"Together, let's look for a shimmering shore of rock that's unlikely to be noticed by humans. Find out before the kids are put on the caravan."

Besides, everyone nodded loudly just to say they understood.

But it is then.

One of the mansion's servants came in a hurry. The servant greets the Ethereal Horses and then hears something to Joash. Then I was frightened because I saw Joash's face.

"What have you done...?

When the Ethereal Horse, who had a bad feeling about it, asked, Joash coughed up small enough to hide his inner agitation before answering.

"There was a suspicious fire on the rocky coast, close to the city, and they found a cave with signs of someone lurking in its burning site."
