Hakai no Miko

Episode 62: The Humiliation of Snomta 2 - Archers

A loud drum sounded announcing the opening of the war on a plain to be called Snomuta in future generations.

A conductor runs the horse as he wears a helmet with ornamental feathers of birds in a flashy color (all sorts) from the Fifth Army of Alexius, scattering a pure white cloak.

"Orders, Orders!

The general soldiers rush to clear the way for a commander who speaks so loudly. Because if they think they've blocked the front poorly, they'll slaughter them.

"Orders to General Lakius from His Highness Alexius! Move the soldiers forward, that is!

"Deal, good luck! Tell His Royal Highness I'll take care of this Lakius."

It is General Lakius, who belongs to the National Army, who commands this First Army.

He leads an army of roughly two thousand soldiers, combined with the National Army and some of the lords who joined the ranks. One thousand and half of them were archers.

The archer's equipment is, as of this time, average. Torso armor with a thick cloth hanging over his cheeks, bronze pockets with metal pieces seamed in a candle and leather sandals wrapped around his feet with leather strings to his tibia. The weapon is a shorter straight knife hanging from its waist and a bow on its shoulder.

And the other half are light infantry. To the extent that the cheeks of the helmets are made of metal rather than leather because they do not have to take more vision than archers, the protective gear is little different from archers.

The big difference is the shield in its hand. It is a large shield stretched with leather and reinforced with metal pieces on wooden plates larger than the height. If the reward of the arrows with the enemy archers begins, protect the archers who became pairs with this great shield from the enemy arrows.

Also on the back of that shield are three to five shorter spears tied together with leather strings. If the enemy approaches, throw it and fight.

General Lakius raises his voice as he rocks the purple room showing the position of general put on his helmet.

"Listen carefully, everyone! The enemies who fight more than this are the elf archers!

Besides, the soldiers he led turned away.

One excellent elf archer is comparable to ten human archers.

These are words that describe the strength of the elf archers widely known in the Continent of Cerdeas. Naturally, a slight exaggeration represents how exceptional the elves of something have bow arms.

And, of course, the archers of Holmea, who dealt with the same bow, had heard it.

But before the upset soldiers, General Lakius laughs it off.

"But not enough to fear! No matter how good you are, there are a handful of enemies! Not half of us, just women again! Too bad you can't make him jerk off our crotch barn spears, but instead, let's do a bunch of arrows!

Relax the nervousness of the soldiers by exchanging nasty jokes, and let the bait glimmer in front of you even more.

"And shooting an elf archer is the biggest medal for an archer! If you want to tell your warriors about your martial arts in tomorrow's tavern, shoot the elves!

And the archers stood in exhilaration, and raised the bow in their hand high, saying, Oops!, "he chanted. General Lakius, who saw the soldiers' morale increase, waved his right hand wide.

"Move the soldiers forward!

Along with that, the drums are pounded loudly with claps that mean forward. In tune with the sound, the soldiers of the First Army also began to move forward softly with the sound of military shoes.

"Sister. The enemy is on the move."

One of the elf archers, who saw the first army of the enemy set in motion, called out to Eladia.

"There's no military ambassador to talk about the war, so let's get started."

Eladia tells everyone with a bright grin, not her usual chief lady clothes, but her pants on her colorless shorts, carrying a bow and an arrow barrel on her back.

"It is also the fetish of a lady who tries to touch the skin of a woman without saying no. You know that level of appetite, don't you?

Elf women jokingly return to Eladia's jokes as well.

"Oh, sister. I just thought it was something that would kick up my groin, not stick down my side."

"with me and all the other things that crush me"

Elf women laughed at each other for a while.

When I heard it, it was the men of man who rose.

Standing mixed up with elf archers, they were all young men with shields bigger than the attire lightweight armor and height. Many of them are volunteers who were impressed by the speech given by the Ethereal Horse in the city of Bornis and took part in their own army.

"I don't care if you're a new volunteer, could you put a young man in my unit?

Not long after his speech in the field, what Eladia wished for from the Ethereal Horse was a demand for an increase in his archer army.

The pale horse who hears this looks surprised.

The elf women, who belong to the Archers led by Eladia, knew that they were reluctant to see men - especially as they approached if they were also human beings. Even the Eladians have a smile on their face, but they never come close. That, too, was natural given their background.

Yet Eladia's demand to deliberately put a young human man into the force is surprising. Asking it if there was any reason, Eladia replied:

"Perhaps the beginning of the battle will be a reward for the arrows. In doing so, we need someone with a big shield to defend the enemy's arrows."

Indeed, the battle in this world begins with rewards with shooting weapons such as arrows and stone-throwing.

If it is also a reward for the arrows from the front, no matter how many elves are good archers, there is no denying the number of disadvantages. You want a big shield for defense that will at least keep the enemy's arrows out. Even fewer archers will fall even more if we take shields out of ourselves, and it will be the end of the line.

It's probably a bitter decision, but it's also a nod story to say you want a shielded soldier.

But the Ethereal Horse could not accept it.

Anyway, what Eladia demanded was a new volunteer. It's still shallow days since I volunteered, and putting them on the battlefield all of a sudden without any training won't help. Now floating in the heat of Ethereal Horse's speech, it is also decided that it can disappear if it can be bathed in the cold water of actual battle.

As much as that, Eladia couldn't have noticed.

Perhaps you just can't think about yourself (your tits), which is bothering you with the small number of soldiers, and say you want a properly trained soldier.

The Ethereal Horse, who guessed so, suggests to Eladia.

"If that's what happened, I'll see if you can separate the soldiers from Mr. Marcronis."

It is Marcronis who is entrusted with the management of the human soldiers. Beneath him are assigned well-trained human soldiers.

Of course, there aren't too many soldiers at Marcronis's. But not letting them retreat until they say that they will kick their opponent's archer squad in the beginning of the war will hinder the measures they have prepared.

To that end, Eladia shook her neck to the side to show the Ethereal Horse, who had begun to think in a corner of her head about what to say to Marcronis and bring consultation, if she could not somehow twist a shielded soldier.

"It's all right, Master Soma"

Eladia giggles and shows it nicely.

"If my sisters smile and say, 'Let's go together' or 'I'm counting on you,' they'll show you an unbeatable stepping stone, whether you're an amateur or a soldier of a hundred wars"

I finally caught a young human man in a colorful incense, so I decided to use him. If that's the case, I can also understand you demanding a young, ugly man who would be impressed by your speech.

But it's horrible because you flatly say that with a bright grin.

The Ethereal Horse, overwhelmed by Eladia, could only nod coddly.

When Eladia, who received recognition, walked away, the Ethereal Horse said this from the bottom of his heart toward Shemr.

"Woman is scary..."

"I'm a woman too, but that one scares me"

And Shemr also said that he was stingy.

Eladia, called a scary woman by the two of them, laughs with her sisters and then covers her mouth (crease) with a black cloth.

"I'll leave the way to myself. Don't hesitate to do it. - Then come and educate the savage lords!

The elf women who likewise covered their mouths with black cloth said, "Ha!," he chanted.

"If it is the reward of arrows in a dense state, we are at a disadvantage in numbers! The captains of each squad advance at a distance from their allies as appropriate at their discretion!

Along with the decree, the women of the elves began to walk forward.

But in it, Eladia and about a hundred elves remained on the spot. To those who remain with themselves. Eladia laughs.

"Well, let's go too. - How are you, buddy?

Saying so, Eladia slapped her partner's neck muscle lightly, which stood next to her.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

General Lakius leaked his tongue at the elf archers marching this way as they distance themselves from each other.

Typically, the reward of an arrow that opens the edge of a battle is from the point where the range is overrun. As a result, no precise aim can be targeted, and the effect is weak if the arrows are not released at all in the population.

But the elves are coming this way, distancing themselves from each other without density.

If the enemy's density is as thin as that, the majority of these arrows will be wasted. By contrast, I guess the elves are calculating a number of disadvantages by concentrating arrows with their own skill.

General Lakius was faintly disturbed by the line of elves who just said they could do it.

This is the first time General Lakius has also fought an elf archer, although he said in vain that he had nothing to fear before the soldiers.

But that wasn't impossible either.

In the first place, in the western part of the continent of Cerdeas, the number of elves is low.

That is because there are few deep forests in the western areas with many plains that elves live in. Also, even the few elves usually prefer the environment in closed forests, and they don't come out of the woods unless they're so weird. Not to mention being a mercenary and participating in the battle, they were all equal to none.

As a result, few people in this western region, when it comes to warring generals, have had the experience of engaging with elf archer troops.

But I knew how foolish it would be to reward such an arrow with General Lakius and an elf archer.

According to the book of Inkdias, the famous general of the Empire, who was active in the centre of the continent about a hundred years ago, which is also a must-read for those involved in the military on this continent of Cerdeas, the reward of arrows from the front with the archers of the elves is so much mentioned as one of the excesses that must not be committed on the battlefield alongside the turmoil with Dinosaurians and the naval battle with Marman.

The only reason Elf's bow is so feared is because Elf is a good archer who reads the wind flow with those ears. Only if you have an elf bow cage hand that says you can hold the bow steadily in a squeezed state by holding an arrow and, above all, an elphin bow.

When it comes to elphin bows, they are bows the size of short bows but with the power and range of long bows. For those who deal with bows, it is no longer equal to a legendary weapon.

And surprisingly, among the elves joining the rebel slave army, one hears that they know how to make it and that an elphin bow has already been built.

But General Lakius thought.

Unlike a round wooden bow made from a single tree, Elfinbow is made by sticking various materials together, so it's also several months to build just one - something that would take more than a year if you did poorly.

Then tighten up the elves and ask for the manufacturing method, and the Dwarves and the others said the rebel slave heads didn't do it if they used it to produce the good stuff in bulk.

As a result, only about a hundred pieces were completed, he said.

Then you have nothing to fear.

General Lakius has a rough nose and a tight chest.

Whatever it is, we have a trump card here too.

General Lakius turned that gaze to the center of the archers.

There are men with different styles. He wears beast fur from his head, such as bears and bobcats, not helmets, and fur torso coats instead of torso armor. And he was walking on his shoulders with bows longer than his height, as if to lean (hide) his body.

They are the hunters of the Gau tribe who live further east than the Romanian state.

The Gau are a minority destined to disappear into history two hundred years later than this. About them, in the "Philosopher Senes' Wind Book," it says:

"The Gaw are barbarians who gather their fur and eat the flesh of the beast raw. Knowing not to plow the earth, he hunts the beast with a bow. Some also become mercenaries, and such are excellent archers without exception"

And the biggest feature of the Gau tribe is its bow. Likewise, in the "Philosopher Senes' Book of Wind," there is this.

"The bow held by the Gau hunters is bigger than their height. Use this bow to fly arrows more than double the normal bow. This bow is difficult to master and requires a long period of training. The Gau men who use this bow from an early age have meat thriving like a mountain from their left breast to their shoulders. As a result, even when they are upright, they appear to be leaning on their bodies. I can't even keep my right hand finger bent and stretched. So it's easy to tell the Gaw hunters apart."

The Gau tribe, written in this way, was undoubtedly the strongest archer in the western part of the ancient Serdeas continent, where the elves were few.

Its strongest archers were brought by Huakis, the deputy commander of the "Black Wall". "An acquaintance introduced me," Huakis said, giving them to General Lakius at all costs.

There are also Gau hunters who are overwhelmingly favorable in numbers. Even the archers of the elves have nothing to fear.

Yes, I told myself, and I saw the looming elves, General Lakius, but I narrow my eyes.

"What is that...?!"

Something was popping out of the elf archers as General Lakius stared out in surprise.
