Hakai no Miko

Episode 78: The Taste of Mud

Soma Kisaki, son of destruction, asked his subordinate as he watched the Holmeer National Army withdraw Baron Cantobias to the Palace Army (Dengu).

"Is General Darius not here?

The faithful Shemr answers this.

"He's not here, he's not here."

Soma Kisaki, son of Destruction, laughs at it.

"Oh my goodness. Have you let the kitten in front of you get away in case of a lion"

Prince Alexius had no idea of humiliation, not even the prince of the Holmeer kingdom, according to Soma Kisaki, the son of destruction.

This is a passage from "The Humiliation of Snomuta" written in the history of the West Side.

Because of the many hearsay contained, it is not certain whether Soma Xaki, the son of destruction, really spoke of this sort of thing.

However, according to the "Memorandum of Shemr," it seems true that the Son of Destruction, Soma Xaki, was barely in sight, such as Alexius, Prince of the less Holmeer Country, who alerts General Darius.

To such opponents, Alexius, overwhelmed by the number of soldiers but tragically defeated, has retained his name as synonymous with the Fools until modern times.

But it is Martin S. Ackerson who is disputing this.

He says Alexius wasn't as stupid as many people say.

To prove it, Martin S. Ackerson is conducting the following experiments at the military university where he is a lecturer:

First, he lay low against two classrooms, A and B, that this was a battle of "snomta humiliation," giving him information that Alexius would have come to know at that time, such as the number of troops and equipment of the enemy and allies, and the terrain of the land that would serve as a battlefield, and comparing what choices the students would make.

However, at this time, B's classroom was taught only one piece of information, which lay low to the students in A's classroom.

The results were then very interesting.

What a class of A students nearly 80% chose to be annihilated by heavily armed infantry from the front in the land of Snomuta, as did Alexius. The majority of the remaining twenty percent knew of the "snomta humiliation," with the exception of which almost all students would have made the same choice as Alexius.

But in B's classroom, on the contrary, almost every student chose to avoid a battle on this land.

It is certain information that naturally was taught only to classrooms in B.

The information was that the enemy commander was Soma Kisaki, the son of destruction.

In modern times, the Son of Destruction, Soma Kisaki, is known not only as the worst destroyer and slaughterer of all time, but also as a rare petitioner, a ruthless conspirator, and an untold military man.

For this reason, the students in Classroom B avoided the battle as there must be some way for Soma Kisaki, the son of such destruction, to wait in widows on the plains at the mercy of the great army.

With this experimental result Martin S. Ackerson says:

"To know the Son of Destruction, we ascend Alexius foolishly. But at a time when the threat of destruction was yet unknown, how many generals could say that they would not tread the same as Alexius?"

But Martin S. Ackerson continues.

"Seeing Alexius' subsequent actions, it is also true that it is unavoidable for him to be called a fool general"

"Pursuit! Instructions for pursuit!

The Ethereal Horse, now aware of General Darius's absence, hastily gave instructions for pursuit.

There is no General Darius who was most vigilant.

Beating the Holmeer National Army is a great opportunity now.

But because of his mistake, he let go of the opportunity to besiege the enemy. There's no point in Ethereal Horse hurrying if we have to salvage it at all costs.

But Shemr differs to the Ethereal Horse who directs the pursuit.

"Wait a minute, Soma"

When the Ethereal Horse turned around wondering what was wrong, Shemr was looking up at the sky.

"My body hair is heavy. And the smell of water is all over the air. This is gonna rain soon."

Soon more and more clouds stood on one side of the sky as the Ethereal Horse looked up at the sky in response to the words.

Rain is bad.

Though it was this victory, all the Ethereal Horses, who were widows, kept fighting all the time, and their fatigue was immeasurable.

I'm excited about the big win now and forget about tiredness, but it's not necessarily that the tiredness that was forgotten by some kind of applause won't hit me all at once. Besides, if I even wet my body with rain, I'd be gladly deprived of my strength.

It is all the more dangerous not to have poor visibility due to rain in the pursuit in Holmea territory, where there is no land exploration even if it is not.

Also, the rain makes it hard to reach the sound of Zoan's drums, and the Harpurans can't fly either. There was also a fear that the military could no longer be controlled and that soldiers would be dispersed in unclear land of their own.

But is it good to miss this good opportunity?

One pounding and rain grain fell on the tip of the nose of the pale horse that was so lost.

"... Shemr. Communicate to everyone. Hurry up and get ready for camp."

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"Does that mean you missed the enemy, wary of the black beast that isn't there?

In the tent where the sound of paralysis and rain hitting the tightly stretched cloth sounds, yes, the pale horse questioned by the gallam slowly turns his body down.

"Yes, you're right."

The words of the faint Ethereal Horse were filled in the tent with sighs that everyone had leaked. The only exception is, "So there's still a fight?" It is about Jahan Gil, who roughens his nose.

"Well, don't you mind"

Eladia took it from me when I felt sorry for the soggy Ethereal Horse.

"With Master Soma's measures, the battle has never been so great a victory. And as a result, we didn't have to do sweeps or chases in the rain."

And Zoog goes on.

"Well, I can't help what I've done. - So, the question is, what are we going to do?"

Everyone's gaze gathered on the pale horse. Besides, the pale horse, who can't stay forever, looks up.

"The truth is, I was planning to withdraw to the city of Bornis as it is, but I'm going to pursue it"

If we succeed in the destruction of the "Black Wall", which is also the symbol of the Holmeer State's martial arts, we will not have to worry about invasion from the Holmeer State for the time being.

Then there is no need to stretch the supply line until it invades Holmea. We were supposed to withdraw straight to the city of Bornis and then put pressure on it in diplomacy.

But my defeat hasn't brought me to the destruction of my enemies.

Still, I should have been able to beat it to about half-baked, so I didn't even think what would happen soon.

But what bothers me is whether or not General Darius will come out this time.

By this battle, the Ethereal Horse has clearly demonstrated that he is a great threat to the Holmeer nation.

That is like proving General Darius' words, which he has so far continued to complain about, were correct.

If now General Darius is relieved of prudence, it is now General Darius who will lead all the armies of the Holmeer nation to come. In that case, it will stop going the way it has always been.

The Ethereal Horse is now overwhelming the Holmeer Country, but at the beginning of the fall into this world, when it came to the gestures of the Ethereal Horse, it was about the Zoans of the Fang Clan. Still, it won its current advantage by continuing to beat the Holmeer country.

There is no way that what you could have done with yourself could have been General Darius, who was called Holmeer's best general. Tomorrow we will not be able to switch positions between ourselves and the Holmeer country.

It will still be necessary to sharpen the power of the Holmeer State as much as possible before General Darius comes out in full force.

He was a pale horse who explained that to everyone, but there was actually another reason why he decided to pursue him that he could never speak of.

It is Aura, goddess of death and destruction.

Though I failed to be frightened by General Darius' shadow to misfill the last one, this battle is a great victory with no complaints against twice as many enemies if you look at the whole thing. The damage on the part of the Holmeer State, which has become a loser, is immeasurable, and if we bring it into diplomacy as it is, it will also be possible for us to draw on fairly favourable conditions without any further damage. It is also a good idea to work on the Holmeer kingdoms and draw them in here to sharpen the power of the Holmeer kingdom.

Either way, if we wait for our own power to overwhelm the Holmeer country later, we can win the Holmeer country itself without fighting any more.

But I was so anxious.

I don't think that that sexually vicious goddess who knew herself so well before this battle would be satisfied with such a result.

I'm sure there will be another wave.

There was such a feeling of certainty in the pale horse.

But at this time, I couldn't even know about the Ethereal Horse.

Until one viper who hears the news of the "Battle of Snomta", which can be delivered in a few days, starts playing dumb (ugly) to wreak that turmoil...

"Burn the fire! Get the food out of the barn! Warm up the wine in a pan and behave like a returning soldier!

The next morning, the voice of Adomius, the only surviving commander of the "Black Wall" regiment, was echoing inside Fort Garraf, east of the crossing.

Fort Garraf now had one defector after another who managed to survive yesterday's battle.

But the appearance was tragic.

Fearing the pursuit of the enemy, the soldiers continued to flee without a single night's sleep, as if everyone was weary and hungry and managed to stand with spears and swords as canes. From what it looks like, I can't even find a piece of beauty when I left this fort the other day.

It was also unlucky that it rained right after yesterday's defeat until after midnight. Even though it is said that if you cool your body with rain, you will be deprived of your strength, the moon and stars will be covered and hidden by the rain clouds, and many have lost sight of directions and lost their way.

Adomius was running (really), trying to do a little work on the soldiers who managed to return to the fort in such a painful situation.

"If you do that on your own, your plans for the future will go crazy"

But it was the captain of the defensive soldiers who had been in this fort since the beginning to say such things as water Adomius.

Admiral, you're a fool and you want to curse me.

In an age where there are no strict military rules and it is normal for most of the soldiers to run away and scatter if they lose, what do we do without having to work the soldiers who are still so muddy that they come back? If we don't, the soldiers won't come back next time the same thing happens. The same is true of the soldiers who watched it.

If we don't do something about it now, it won't even come in the future.

The warmth of the wine that General Darius handed me from hand still smudges me in the fortress where Adomius himself was once defeated in battle and fled back to life.

"We are sending out a request for relief supplies to the city of L'Oma in the rear. I'll take all the blame!

To Adomius, who said so, the captain of the fort seemed unhappy, but he disagreed no further.

But that's when the bossy words pierce Adomius' heart.

"What's the strongest army? You lost..."

That was a curse that Adomius was also prepared to do.

Until now, the soldiers of the "Black Wall" have received a variety of benefits. That was allowed because the "black wall" was the strongest army in the Holmeer country.

But the myth of defeat was crushed.

Along with that, it could have been expected that there would be an outcry against the previous preferences.

But still, the words hurt to Adomius, who lost many of his comrades along with the myth of undefeated.

Plus, news jumps in that kind of chase on Adomius.

"An enemy! The enemy's coming after us!

In that cry, a cry similar to a scream rises from among the soldiers.

Running among those soldiers and standing on the fort's fence, Adomius acknowledged the appearance of a group coming from the crossing.

That's definitely the rebel slaves who have been chasing themselves, though still far ahead.

"Damn! You're gonna slap us thoroughly, you bastards!

In this fort, I cannot accommodate all the soldiers who have finally fled. As it is, not according to the fort's barrier, you will be fighting the enemy you have been chasing.

But then it's not something we can fight very well.

The soldiers who fled are still dragging them all to death after being beaten to pieces at the crossing. Then the enemy would hit an avalanche just as it approached and run away and scatter.

In this situation, a voice was called out to Adomius, who was worried about his head about how to stop the rebel slaves.

"Adomius, what are you bringing!

It is Alexius.

After one night, it was Adomius who found hope that he had managed to get back on his feet, but it was somehow a joy.

"Beautifully guarded in such a small fort! We're going all the way to the city of L'Oma!

Say no or Alexius will jump on a horse prepared for the upcoming exam. Besides, Adomius raises his voice in a hurry.

"Please wait, Your Highness. Retreat to the city of L'Oma and expose your defenseless back to the enemy, and this one will be too much damage!

"It's on your left, Your Highness!

In tune with Adomius was the captain of the fort earlier.

"If this fort falls, there is no longer anything stopping the rebel slaves from invading the country! We need to consolidate the fort's defenses and intercept the enemy!

As its captain, it is important for him to fall the fort he has been entrusted with. If that were the case, King Walius would have strangled me if I had been delayed.

But Alexius shakes off the plea without awe.

"Then guard the fort as your army!

The captain hastily tried to get those around him to defend him, but everyone turns a blind eye to him. Because if I say bad things here, I may be entrusted to the garrison again.

Only Adomius raises his name among them.

"Your Highness! Then I will join your ranks. We will guard this place until His Highness is delayed!

But this is what Alexius said, "No!" and refuse under a word.

"I command you and your soldiers to protect me!

That undefeated myth, though crushed, does not change the strength of the "Black Wall" soldiers. If you take it to Alexius, it was only natural to put that elite on a patent to protect himself.

Adomius was still unintentional, but with Alexis' life, he has to obey. Besides, as many soldiers looked anxiously, they could not show themselves arguing only with Alexius, the commander, and the leader of a regiment.

Leaving behind a puppy-eyed fortress captain who drops off the owner who abandons himself, Alexius leaves the fort with only some of his close-ups and surroundings. And Adomius continued with an outspoken soldier hundred rides to protect it.

As he drives his horse, Adomius looks back.

Then, from the fort, we could see the large number of soldiers who would follow later in their attempt to retreat with us, knowing Alexius' departure.

They are uniformly throwing down their weapons and trying to escape ahead of us without any problem with the formation or anything. In it, Adomius felt the sorrow of being scratched in the chest, even though there was also a mix of glorious black armored soldiers.

This is not a retreat. Continued defeat.

Yes, I could hear Alexius running forward in Adomius's ear throwing up in his chest.

"Peep! Damn it! The mud's in my mouth!

Alexius was spitting so persistently, trying to spit it out, as the mud from which the horseback running forward kicked to lead the way had gone into his mouth.

Perhaps Alexius also has a consciousness that he is exposed to ugliness. I've been complaining about the fact that I won't have time to keep my mouth shut.

Besides, Adomius hid and leaked his tongue.

What is the noise about the mud in your mouth?

Behind ourselves, many generals are still crawling around in the mud and fleeing. Compared to that, it's not as noisy as having mud in your mouth.

"Oh, I see"

So Adomius thought of something.

Until now Alexius, as Prince of the Holmeer Country, has only been allowed to join the battles he can always win, in order not to tarnish his background.

For that reason, perhaps this is the first defeat Alexius will experience.

Adomius leaked this way when he put a bitter grin on his lips.

"Haven't Your Highness ever seen the taste of the mud of defeat?"

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

Soon after Alexius escaped, Fort Garraf was besieged by the Ethereal Horses.

The warfare of the soldiers, who were originally forced by Alexius to defend the fort dead, was scarce, and the stone thrower brought in by the Dwarves only threw one or two stones into the fort, and they surrendered lightly.

The Ethereal Horse also clapped at this for not being very responsive.

But knowing that it was also largely due to Alexius' retreat without organizing a palace army, Aoima herself instructed him to pursue it at the same time as he proceeded to take control of the fort.

Naturally, it was the Zoan warriors led by Garam and Zug who received it.

Alexius' ordeal still lasted.
