Hakai no Miko

Episode 12: Military School

"I was originally the head of the mercenary regiment."

That's what the man said.

The man was originally a mercenary who was leading a mercenary regiment across the battlefield. But mercenaries and the like are not the kind of operations that can last that long. I've been lucky enough to survive so far, but if I'm about to count my age and thirty, it's time I want a stable life.

But I need an ex to start doing business. But I'm not saving for a shitty operation that doesn't even know tomorrow: mercenaries, etc. It is a small group of mercenaries that gathered together in the same village even when it came to mercenary regiments in the first place. Instead of knowing, who knows? It's a weak mercenary regiment with no great track record or strength.

I didn't make a lot of money with such a mercenary regiment, and I didn't think I'd be able to do anything about it now that I was in a hurry.

Now, where I thought we were in trouble, the man said he heard rumors about Eldor, who had just been founded.

"In a country called Eldor, we're gathering soldiers. Besides, it doesn't matter whether you're born or raised. It was rumored that if I had the strength, I would take you high, whether you were a displaced or a slave, so I volunteered with my people for the army of Eldor."

The man was bought a background that was the head of the mercenary regiment and was said to have been hired for platoon leader treatment from the outset.

The army of Eldor was a cramped place for a man who, if anything, had long mercenary operations of his own free will, with military rules, military rules and spoken words. But I also have to put up with this if I think it's for a stable life.

With such patience and reward for his efforts, the man emerged well from the platoon captain to the captain of the two platoons and assistant to the squadron captain.

"There were aristocratic bastards under me and vice versa, and peasant upwards. I was glad that the rumors were true then. When the squadron leader asked me if I would raise him, I thought that would go up to heaven. hey."

In this western region, the squadron is generally a unit of 100 men. It was said that there could be no other than a knight without how conspicuous a feat would be or the back shield of a powerful man. Marcronis, now known as the General of the People of the Eldor Country, was also not able to be Squadron Leader while his many years of achievements were acknowledged, so much so that he was retained in his aides.

The man flaunted his face when he remembered his joy when he was shown the way to a squadron leader who should also be admired. But I'll get that face right away.

"But to give up to the Squadron Leader, I was told I had to go to military school."

Piata, who had already listened many times, gets a hold of each other between exquisite.

"What is that military school and what is it like?

"Heh. He says he's about to teach how to fight before some peasant or merchant kid who has no idea how to fight becomes a soldier.

I was exempt from mercenarism, but to get up to the Squadron Leader, I had to leave here, so I went too.

When I actually went, I waved swords, ran, dug holes, put up tents, and later I heard guys like lecturers tell stories about old wars and great guys, Darla. Oh, my God and Inkdas. They made me read books, and well, I did it where they made me do things. "

Piata puts in the pointer with a bitter smile as the man speaks with his eyes on the universe and remembers.

"It's Darius' guide book and Inkdias' law book."

A small voice of surprise leaks from among the Angus and the Ethereal Cavalry, who were listening to the man in silence, as Piata told them.

"Heh, what was Darius's ink?"

When the man admitted Piata's words, the blurring began to leak from those of the Ethereal Cavalry.

Piata asks further with a delightful grin on her mouth as she puts the look into the edge of her eyes.

"What else did you say about Lapitus being read into Rauzar's military record?

"Heh, heh. I had a name like that."

And when the man affirmed, the men of the Ethereal Cavalry bowed again.

Piata waits for the blurring to settle before asking the man.

"They read such books. Weren't military schools and they really just noble children?

Then the man shook his neck firmly beside him.

"No. Really, a lot of peasants and merchant kids got nasty"

From among the men of the Ethereal Cavalry, his voice rose again this time.

Unfortunately, Angus raises his voice.

"Oh wait, Your Highness?!"

But Piata grins bitterly at Angus.

"I would have told you to shut up and listen to me until the end. I'll ask you as much later. - I'm sorry. Keep talking."

The second half of the word is directed at a man. The man nodded one before continuing the conversation.

"Anyway, I was just bored. Anyway, I can't read words, and I'm not sure how to calculate them. But civilians. That's normal, isn't it? Damn, I lied about not discriminating in my capacity, and I actually thought this was how you'd sort it out. So when I complained, they said," You just need to get a dedicated deputy. "

Tell Piata, "What's that?," the man answers.

"He seems to be the guy who reads and writes orders and helps a lot on behalf of a captain who can't read the letters even if he's as powerful as I am. Then I asked you to introduce me to one person."

So the man distorted his face in a grumpy manner.

"But you're as loud as I think this guy is my mother. Do it. We don't have enough food. Do it. We don't have enough weapons. Do it. I'm not ready. Do it. It's not like an order. Shut up already. Fighting is more or less a temper in the end, isn't it? He's dying of fright."

With the man's up-and-coming eyes, he said, "Right?" Piata gently flushed "Right," she asked for consent. Did that alone reassure the man, keep him feverish in his tone.

"So I stopped putting up with him, and I stuck him. Then the next day, the great guy says," You're in exile. "So I came to my head, and I left Eldor just wondering if I was going to stay in a country like this, and I came to this country."

That ended the man's long story.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

The man Piata told to get the reward money from his squire left the hall in a light foothold.

After dropping it off, Piata asks with a mean grin towards the remaining Ethereal Cavalry men in the hall.

"Well, your brothers. What do you think of the story now?

And when Piata inquired, the men of the Ethereal Cavalry were left speechless. We've been looking at each other's faces and towing each other for a while, but Angus finally asks Piata on behalf of everyone.

"I don't think it's sane. What are you thinking with the Son of Destruction?

Angus' face was full of confusion or confusion. He was snug with disgusting sweat.

"To all the mercenary men and peasants and merchants, in Darius's guide, the Inkdias book of war -"

Darius' guide is the heart of a general whom Darius, called Holmeer's best general, begged to write by his predecessor King Holmeer. Even the Romanian nation, which calls Darius a resentful enemy, has a high reputation for it and is secretly told that a general should look through it for once.

Furthermore, the Inkdias book of military law was written about a hundred years ago by a general active in the centre of the continent, and can no longer be described as a must-read for those involved in the battle on the Continent of Cerdeas.

"What's more, I didn't know you were letting Rauzar's military journal read Lapitus' war journal..."

Lauzar's journal of service clearly states that the great army will collapse by starvation by a general whom Lauzar, a service cleric, neglected to replenish.

It details the starving and falling soldiers and the number of starving deaths they mourned that day, and it is also a valuable lesson to learn about the damage if they underestimate supply more than just a military tragedy.

Lapitus' journal of war is also a historical one describing how Lapitus, the general of a small country that finally destroyed a great nation, never fought from the front against the other, but by what we call the guerrilla battle in modern times and the way in which he fought to comfort and allie the people of the occupied territories. It's interesting as a read, but above all it's a masterpiece you can learn how to feel when fighting large numbers with widows.

Angus, who was captain of the Ethereal Cavalry, was told by Darius to keep an eye on any book once, but perhaps some of his men don't even know the name of the book.

"What is military school?

Angus' voice, the last one, was close to screaming.

"Tell those who are not knights how to fight - I didn't know you taught tactics. What does a guy named Son of Destruction think?!"

I can understand it if I simply teach you how to swing a sword or handle a spear. As much as I can teach you how to move troops, I'll convince you.

But if the man's story wasn't a lie, he would have even taught strategy if he did tactics and bad things with military schools.

That is, neither training to be fought nor fighting techniques.

knowledge to gain victory.

That was unbelievable to the Angus.

It is the prerogative of the knight not to grow one wheat himself and to obtain taxes from the territory he owns. As well as that, fighting for knights was in itself, as well as some kind of privilege.

Sometimes they drive out peasants and other civilians in wars and such. It would be easy then, but military training would also take place.

But teaching there is not the way to win.

When you order like this, move like this. When this drum sounds, do this. Hear the knight's orders. Don't go against it.

It is only training to hear and execute such a knight's order. Because even if you use the peasants, battle does not change into what the knights do.

And if we take into account that we are taxed as daily food by fighting, i.e. we are considered to be those who privilege the battle with knights and who are feeding it as a family business.

For such knights, tactics and strategies to obtain victory were, so to speak, the secret of family business. Teaching that without paying attention to identity is like publishing a technology that, if we say it now, is also patented for free.

It was also natural for Angus and the others to be stunned.

Not to mention the aristocracy and the knights. For the ruling class humans, such as peasants, are subjects of asylum, as well as potential enemies who revolt and threaten themselves.

Teaching those people the knowledge of the battle is tantamount to divulging their secret technology to competitors and abandoning the monopoly market on their own. Not to mention, it is knowledge that exchanges lives. It is not the market that is deprived, but its own life.

It was unthinkable for those in the ruling class who made the ruling class a potential enemy.

Piata laughs at Angus and the others who wander.

"Your brothers' confusion is well understood. It's known to me, too."

Even for Piata, who perceives herself as out of common sense as a princess of a great power, she doubted my ear when she first heard from a man.

"But your brothers will also have experience. At the defeat, it was time to become the Imperial Army. Prevent and stop enemies there and you will cause a lot of damage to your allies. That said, the frustration when the soldiers flee without fear. If you march fast, it's time you missed your chance. Yet he runs to plunder, anger at the soldiers of his allies who just stop marching or cause unnecessary disturbances."

What Piata points out is familiar to the Ethereal Cavalry, which, together with General Dalaios, has always fought as a vanguard of the Romanian National Army and, at the time of its defeat, as a palace army.

"But if you knew the importance of the battle to a soldier, and you knew it, how about it? When you become a palace army to help your allies and your country, one soldier will stop and continue to fight. Everyone will march without waving aside, wondering if we should miss the opportunity."

Piata waited for her words to penetrate Angus and the rest of his mind sufficiently before continuing with the next.

"In the Land of Eldore, the knight became just for his name. But think that the majority of that army is made up of knights with just the power to lead one army. - What do you say? This alone would be enough of a threat."

Angus and the others, gone.

That is exactly the ideal legion. Even small units understand and act on the purpose of the army until the general's orders are with the soldiers at the end. If he aspired to be a general, he was eager to lead such an army for once.

But everyone would be stuck with the answer if asked if it was okay to shake the identity system for that matter.

Towards an agitated and bewildered Angus, Piata looks up to the universe and looks back at herself in the past.

"He wanted to create a country where everyone would be equal by abolishing their identities. I thought it would be convenient for the Son of Destruction to follow the people of the Fae, even if I meant it for a minute."

In this era, the identity system was equal to the logic of the world.

As the sun rises from the east and sets to the west, knights fight, farmers plow fields, craftsmen make things, merchants sell them.

This is the reason and common sense of the world.

"Even I, called it out of common sense from all over the country, thought so. No, I'm just saying I had to think about it!

Piata recognises herself as being out of common sense in the world.

As the children of the other royal royal aristocracy were dressed in courtesy and taking gorgeous steps in the ballroom, Piata was wearing armor and swords to the women and running across the horses and on the battlefield. While the children of the royal marquis were rejoicing in the exchange of poetry and romantic texts, Piata remembered the unspeakable excitement of the exchange of life with swords and spears. It is refreshing, such as sewing, embroidery and tea parties, which are the preferences of the royal royal family's children. What Piata knows instead is equestrianism, military law and manoeuvres on the battlefield.

Is there any other princess like this?

Even Piata, who thinks so of herself, does not deny the identity system.

It was only after recognizing that self was the existence of an exception that only a small extent of self and its surroundings were placed outside the reason of the world.

"But the Son of Destruction is serious about doing it. Seriously, we are abolishing the identity system, and all those without kings or knights are trying to create and implement a country called equality!

Piata, who is being groomed with a young deserter, perceived herself as out of common sense, thus taking care not to cause unnecessary confusion due to her actions.

But the Son of Destruction is not. I admit I take some account of it. But basically there was a verse where the Son of Destruction considered his values absolute. Whether there is confusion around it or not, it makes one's values right and feels like a strong determination to push them through.

Sure, maybe what the Son of Destruction is trying to do is the right answer.

In fact, Son of Destruction's measures are doing well at the moment and developing the Eldor Country more. I have to admit that.

And that's why the idea of the Son of Destruction will spread.

It is not only those who are abused by their identity. Even those who now sweeten the bounty by their identity will one day be welcomed with joy and cheer.

Piata remembered such a hunch.

"The Son of Destruction is about to change this world! No! That's not easy to change or anything. He's..."

But Piata felt the change was too sudden.

Because the sea is wider and more bait, and how many fish would be able to throw into the sea the fish that were swimming in a small pond and adapt to it?

Most of the fish will die.

However, the slightly surviving fish grow larger with a wider dwelling and abundant food. And let it go.

What the Son of Destruction is doing is such an outrage.

That is no longer a raw gentle thing to change, etc.

Too rapid a change.

Isn't that what you could call it?

"He's trying to destroy this world!

Piata affirmed that.
