Chapter 520: Merging The World eyes II
To be fair, she had barely used any force, other than the natural momentum of her body, but still, she had been pushed back!?
"That seems to be its purpose," Mira commented. Zenith raised her hand again, demonic energy gathering around her fingers.
Mira moved in front of her. "What are you doing? Do not break it."
Zenith’s eyes narrowed.
"It is keeping me away from Hubby."
"It may also be keeping the rest of us from interfering with the process." Zenith looked ready to argue, but she soon realized that Mira was right.
The only thing they could do was wait, and Zenith didn’t like waiting.
Meanwhile, another system message appeared before Elion, but it went completely unnoticed by him.
The pain was definitely not as great as when he integrated the bloodline; for some reason, he was finding it very difficult to form a conscious thought.
Keeping his eyes open was equally as difficult, but considering the fact that he was merging with an actual pair of new eyes, the result was to be expected.
[Assimilation progress: 19%.]
[Foreign law fragments detected.]
[World Eyes are attempting to establish authority over host’s perception.]
[Host bloodlines responding.]
Deep within Elion’s body, his bloodlines stirred.
The Primordial Dragon bloodline awakened first.
A low, ancient pressure spread from his core, rolling through his veins like molten gold. The scales that had once appeared during his transformation briefly surfaced around his temples and beneath his eyes.
His Incubus bloodline reacted next.
Dark crimson energy intertwined with the golden power, reinforcing his mind and stabilizing the violent stream of information rushing into it.
The Ark’s training room filled with a suffocating aura.
Mira, Tessa, and Aria paled considerably, and they suddenly found breathing had become extremely taxing.
Zenith, however, smiled.
"He is fighting it."
Inside his mind, Elion no longer saw random images. He stood within a vast black space surrounded by countless enormous eyes.
Some resembled those of humans, while others belonged to beasts, dragons, demons, and some creatures that he could not identify.
All of them stared at him, as if studying and judging him, attempting to understand the intruder standing within their domain.
A voice emerged from every direction at once.
It did not speak in any language Elion recognized, and yet he understood its meaning.
To see the world is to carry its truth.
Another voice followed.
To carry its truth is to abandon ignorance.
Then another.
To abandon ignorance is to surrender peace.
Elion clenched his fists.
He did not know whether these were true voices or merely fragments of will left behind within the World Eyes.
Either way, he had no intention of allowing them to frighten him.
"I did not come here for peace."
The countless eyes narrowed, and the darkness beneath his feet cracked.
Threads of golden and crimson energy spread outward from his body, tearing through the endless black space.
The surrounding eyes began closing one after another.
[Assimilation progress: 36%.]
[Host’s will has resisted foreign authority.]
[World Eyes integration method altered.]
[Authority will be absorbed rather than inherited.]
The pressure behind Elion’s eyes suddenly doubled, and his body lurched forward.
Blood spilled from his nose, and the floor beneath him cracked as his hands struck the ground.
Aria stepped toward the barrier again.
"Elion!"
He could hear her now, though her voice sounded distant and distorted. He tried to answer, but his jaw refused to move.
The information flooding his mind continued changing.
He saw the training room from every angle at once.
He saw Tessa’s tense posture and the faint tremble in her bandaged fingers.
He saw Aria fighting the urge to throw herself against it despite knowing she would fail.
He saw Zenith quietly gathering enough power to destroy the entire room if Elion’s condition worsened.
But he saw more than their bodies; faint colors surrounded each of them.
Threads extended outward from their hearts, connecting them to places and people beyond the Ark.
Aria’s strongest thread led directly to him, and so did Zenith’s. Mira’s connection was less turbulent, but no less firm.
Tessa’s was still forming, its light uncertain but steadily growing brighter. Elion instinctively focused on her.
Information appeared beside and around the frame of her body.
[Tessa Crimson]
[Race: Human]
[Rank: Adept Warrior (Level 29)]
[Physical condition: Exhausted.]
[Emotional state: Concerned, embarrassed, frustrated.]
[Intent: Protect Elion if possible.]
[Deception detected: None.]
...
There were more details that he could have focused on, but they were quickly blurred by some unseen hand, and the information vanished as quickly as it appeared.
Elion immediately understood that this was not the system’s appraisal.
[Assimilation progress: 52%.]
[Perception expanding.]
[Warning: Unrestricted perception may destroy host identity.]
[Beginning construction of perceptual seals.]
Layer after layer of darkness formed around Elion’s awareness, restricting the information pouring into his mind, and as a result, the pain weakened slightly.
His breathing steadied.
Outside the barrier, Mira immediately noticed the change. "The bleeding is slowing."
Aria leaned closer. "Yeah, it is better than before."
Zenith’s gathered power gradually faded, though she remained close enough to strike the barrier the instant she believed it necessary.
Tessa lowered herself beside the invisible wall.
"You had better not die after giving me these," she muttered, glancing at the bracers around her arms. "I still have not forgiven you."
Elion heard her.
Despite everything, the corner of his mouth twitched.
Tessa noticed the faint movement around the muscles of his face. "He smiled."
Aria stared at her. "At what?"
"I said he had better not die on us."
"That is what made him smile?"
Tessa folded her arms. "He has strange tastes."
[Assimilation progress: 71%.]
The World Eyes continued merging with him.
The countless eyes within his mind had almost entirely disappeared, leaving only two enormous orbs suspended within the darkness.
One was completely white, and the other was black. They slowly moved toward Elion.
He could feel the laws contained within them pressing against his existence.
Truth and illusion.
Life and death.
Distance and direction.
Past and possibility.
Nothing within the eyes was simple, and he understood that what he was currently absorbing was only the smallest fraction of their true power.
Even so, that fraction was enough to overwhelm most people.
The white eye entered his left eye, while the black eye entered his right eye.
Elion threw his head back as the most excruciating pain he had experienced up to now erupted inside his body.
A silent roar tore through the darkness.
[Assimilation progress: 89%.]
[World Eyes successfully connected to host soul.]
[Beginning physical reconstruction.]
A searing pain spread through Elion’s actual eyes, and his irises changed beneath his closed eyelids.
The left became pale gold, filled with several thin circular runes rotating around the pupil.
The right darkened into a deep violet-black, within which tiny points of silver light resembled distant stars.
The blood running down his cheeks evaporated, and his damaged nerves repaired themselves.
The foreign pressure gradually calmed.
[Assimilation progress: 100%.]
[World Eyes successfully integrated.]
[Perceptual seals established to prevent madness.]
[Ding!]
*[New Innate attribute: World Eyes.]*
[Grade: Divine✨]
[Description: A pair of ancient ocular treasures born from the remains of a being that once observed the birth and collapse of worlds. Once merged, the user’s perception undergoes a fundamental evolution, granting god-like sight that can see at a molecular level and cannot be fooled by any normal means: mana-structure perception, law-sensing vision, and the ability to perceive the unseen; nothing can be hidden from the World Eyes.]
[Additional information: The eyes are formed from fragments of the laws governing perception, truth, space, and causality. Their abilities will develop alongside the host’s strength and understanding.]
[Warning⚠️: Such vision would be overwhelming without discipline: users risk madness from too much truth.]
