Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures

Chapter 1084: For the Greater Good

Like Azkaban, there is little, if any, circulation of material about Nurmengard in the magic world.

The scariest of these rumours, and the most illusory at the same time, belong to the guardian of Nurmengard.

Some say that the guards, like Azkaban's Dementors, are nightmare monsters from the deepest depths of hell, and no one can resist them.

Others say that Nurmengard's guard is a terrible curse, the incarnation of death.

Whatever these rumours themselves are, there is nothing to deny about the truth behind them, that all the prisoners who tried to escape from Newmongade eventually died, disappeared from the world and never appeared again.

But no one knows what Nurmengard really looks like and what kind of creature the guard is.

Only those who have been there in person know how horrible the situation is, and ordinary wizards are happy there.

Whether it was or is, the prisoners in detention and the legendary stories hidden behind buildings.

Ivan had expected to see a chilling and chestnut of terrible buildings, like the Dementors, wandering through the ruins, sucking away all the joy and vitality of the land, leaving behind fear and despair, just like Azkaban.

But no, he and Dumbledore appeared in front of them in a desolate town.

Despite the panic, there are still traces of human activity, but it just doesn't make people that happy.

By the way, this place is kind of like a tumbling alley.

In the night, the dirty trail stretches around and all you see at the end is darkness.

The ground is full of gravel, like slag, and the shops and houses on both sides of the street are all stacked with black rock, strange shapes, randomly built without rules, such as a monster with teething claws.

As for the stores themselves, they are all black magic stores.

The shrinking heads are displayed in the closet to the nearest store to Ivan, where they are placed in rows.

The face of the head is painted with different oil-colored outfits, waiting for the customer's choice.

Outside the house next to the shop was a corpse, scarred and brutally peeled off.

Ivan looked at it for half a day and didn't tell what kind of creature it was.

It looks a bit like a human being, a mutilated corpse with two big horns on its head.

Dark-red blood and unknown mucus slowly dropped down the corpse, landing on the ground, making a crackling, crackling sound.

It's the only sound Ivan hears, and besides, there's no sound in this terrible little town.

It's late at night, but it's still unusual.

The surrounding death is generally silent, even the wind stops here.

At the end of the alley, the shadows swayed and a few wizards with hoods quickly walked by, proving that there were still living people here.

But nobody dares to speak, even hold their breath, afraid to wake up some terrible monster.

“Professor, is this Nurmengard?” Ivan whispered, "Looks like a black wizard gathering place. ”

“This is a small town on the outskirts of Newmongade, known as Fort Garde. Dumbledore said, leading Ivan down an alley," At the height of Gaelett's power, he built Newmont Gard as a symbol of his evil reign, the strongest fortress of dark forces, with many dark wizards and greedy men attached, the vast majority of whom were powerless and ineligible to join Gaelett's army, but he did not drive them away, leaving them outside Newmont Gard. Eventually, it grew into a small town in front of us. After Gaelett's failure, the town was not abandoned, but became the largest gathering point for black wizards in Germany. ”

“Does the German Ministry of Magic care?” Evan was surprised to say, "They let black wizards gather here? ”

“Existence makes sense, Evan, and we all hate dark magic and oppose the use of those evil spells, but that doesn't mean everyone does, and it's impossible to erase a category of magic that has been inherited for thousands of years.” Dumbledore said, "How can you say that, like the British tumbling alley and the underground world, you've been there, and the Ministry of Magic let them exist, just can't cross the bottom line. ”

Indeed, the magic world is not as simple as black or white, nor as simple as Hogwarts. There are school rules that clearly prohibit students from learning black magic. Everyone thinks it's bad, resists it, and doesn't talk publicly.

In a true magical society, the line between justice and evil is blurred.

Light and darkness are fused with each other and exist with each other.

It is unrealistic and impossible to wipe out all black wizards and magic.

As long as they do not do anything illegal and evil, the Ministry of Magic has no reason to arrest them and sentence them.

But if it's not evil, is it black magic?

Along the alley, after crossing a shop, Ivan saw a tall and majestic building appear in front of him.

The building appears to be a palace with tall tallin-li, most notably the main tower in the center.

The main tower stands tall and stretches all the way to the clouds without looking to the end, which is daunting.

A mysterious atmosphere surrounded it, which seemed to be a force from which people staring at it quickly shifted their gaze.

To be honest, this building is a miracle, a miracle built by Greendward.

Nurmengard is located on a lake-hearted island surrounded by a huge pool of black water, calm and deep.

Other black wizards in the town seem scared of the lake and dare not approach it easily.

They hid in a pit of pitch-black doors and saw Dumbledore and Ivan walking straight there, all showing uncontrollable expression of panic.

What is hidden in this calm black water that scares these black wizards so much?

“That's the real Wizard's Prison, Nurmengard!” Dumbledore put it simply.

In the direction of his eyes, Evan looked at the dark tower, where Greendward himself was being held to confess his sins at the highest end.

As can be seen from his treatment of Keresis, he has a certain freedom.

As a powerful black wizard, it's almost impossible to control him completely.

So Grindelwald was locked up here, in a fortress he built himself, entirely voluntarily.

But Ivan still doesn't understand that not all of them are Grindelwald and will voluntarily be held in this witch prison.

What safeguards does Nurmengard have to guarantee that no one escapes from jail when it is so close to the Dark Wizards' gathering place?

Towards the main tower, the main building also extends forward on the ground, forming a symmetrical L-shape between them.

The main body of the Newmongade building was stretched across half of the lake and built right in front of them, which was also the gateway to Newmongade.

Evan just walked by and saw a remarkable carving on it: for the greater good!
