Jiao Yan froze.

She had been in complete despair, simply waiting for death.

She never expected a young man to appear and save her right before she died. Overcome with joy, she burst into tears and forgot to respond to Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen frowned and glanced around. "Are you alone? How did you end up targeted by these Snow Wolves?"

"I... I wasn’t alone..."

Jiao Yan immediately told Jiang Chen what had happened, her face a mask of grievance. "I really didn’t mean to kill that Snow Wolf. It was about to ambush Senior Brother Songg, so I killed it. But... but then they all blamed me for killing the Snow Wolf and attracting the pack, and they... they abandoned me!"

Jiang Chen shook his head. "Stop crying. Come with me."

The Snow Wolf King roared, its glittering green eyes fixed on Jiang Chen, ready to devour him.

His voice was like a clap of thunder, like the beat of a war drum. The deep roar drowned out the wind and snow.

Terrified, the Snow Wolf King’s legs went soft, and it turned tail and fled.

Jiao Yan’s eyes widened in disbelief.

’Such a ferocious Snow Wolf was scared away by a single shout from Jiang Chen?’

Under Jiang Chen’s guidance, Jiao Yan’s journey was thrilling but safe as they flew through the air. Her group hadn’t dared to fly because they couldn’t use Divine Thought to scout the path and feared getting lost. Jiang Chen, however, had his Divine Thought to clear the way, so he was fearless.

As they flew, Jiang Chen suddenly spotted four people ahead, besieged by a pack of Snow Wolves. All four were wounded. He couldn’t help but smile. "Jiao Yan, are those your martial brothers?"

"Huh?"

Jiao Yan paused, looked down, and nodded. She asked in confusion, "Didn’t Senior Brother Geng Qin already make a deal with the Snow Wolf King? As long as they left me for it, it would let them go. Why are they still surrounded by the Snow Wolf pack?"

Jiang Chen sneered. "Wolves are the most treacherous of creatures. That Snow Wolf King just wanted to split you up. It’s laughable that those idiots actually believed the promise of a mere beast and abandoned their own junior sister."

Jiao Yan looked as if she only half-understood.

Her gaze, tinged with worry, drifted down toward Geng Qin and the others.

Jiang Chen smiled faintly. "You’re not thinking of saving them, are you?"

"I am!"

Jiao Yan hesitated for a moment before nodding.

Jiang Chen watched her with great interest. "You don’t hate them for abandoning you?"

"They... they didn’t have a choice back then!" Jiao Yan said in a clear, crisp voice.

Jiang Chen chuckled.

He had no intention of intervening.

People like Geng Qin, who would abandon their junior sister to save their own skin, weren’t worth saving.

As Jiang Chen and Jiao Yan continued flying through the air, they naturally attracted the attention of Geng Qin’s group. They all began to shout, "Is that Junior Sister Jiao? Junior Sister Jiao, help us!"

"Senior Brother, help us!"

However, Jiang Chen and Jiao Yan didn’t even pause.

Songg Yike looked astonished. "Junior Sister Jiao... she isn’t helping us?"

Mo Bai paused, noticing Geng Qin and the others. With a flash, he landed among them. His Long Spear swept out, and rays of spear light shot forth like a torrential downpour, slaying Snow Wolf after Snow Wolf.

Seeing how ferocious Mo Bai was, the Snow Wolf King let out an unwilling snarl and signaled its pack to retreat quickly.

"Consider yourself lucky you got away fast!"

Mo Bai snorted coldly, put away his Long Spear, and looked at Geng Qin. "Geng Qin? What are you all doing here?"

Geng Qin said quickly, "Senior Brother Mo, you have to avenge us!"

"Avenge you?"

Mo Bai was taken aback.

A venomous look appeared on Geng Qin’s face. "Senior Brother Mo Bai, the four of us brothers were originally traveling with Jiao Yan. But along the way, we ran into a powerful young man who provoked a pack of Snow Wolves. To get away, that kid led the pack straight to us, using us as a shield! And to save her own skin, Junior Sister Jiao actually went and joined him, and they escaped together!"

Geng Qin quickly pointed at Jiang Chen’s back. "Senior Brother Mo, that’s the kid..."

"I understand!"

Mo Bai nodded, accelerated, and roared, "You scoundrel up ahead, halt!"

While in mid-flight, Jiang Chen suddenly heard the shout from behind. He instinctively turned his head just in time to see a sharp ray of spear light piercing through the air toward him.

The white spear light was incredibly fast.

In the blink of an eye, it was right in front of him.

Jiang Chen’s brows furrowed. He pointed a finger forward. With a loud BANG, the light from his finger collided with the spear light.

A furious gale erupted from the impact, whipping Jiang Chen’s robes about. A glint of cold light appeared in his eyes as he looked at Mo Bai and asked in a low voice, "Who are you? Why did you ambush me?"

"Hmph! A treacherous villain like you is someone everyone has the right to execute!" Mo Bai declared with an air of righteous fury.

Jiang Chen felt speechless. "..."

’What did I even do?’

Mo Bai wore an expression of profound disappointment and anger, reprimanding him with resonant, sharp words: "Geng Qin and the others have already told me what happened!
