Chapter 195: CH. 195 | Two Demon Towers Destroyed
Even wounded from Lin Tian’s attack, Hun Ya refused to give up. He and the young elders of the Black Ink Lake Hall rose into the sky together, united and determined to bring Lin Tian down.
Their hands snapped into seals in unison, activating an array meant to defeat him.
A crimson array flared to life in front of them, launching a barrage of black skulls straight at Lin Tian.
Lin Tian spotted the attack and swept his hand in a deflecting motion. A magical barrier sprang up, strong and unyielding enough to withstand the entire skull assault.
Explosion after explosion rang out without pause, making Lin Tian narrow his eyes. He glanced ahead. Not a single one of those skull attacks had actually touched him.
Thanks to the sheer strength of his defensive barrier, he’d come through completely unharmed.
From another direction, he turned as Mo Shu reappeared. The old man with the staff had survived, though his body was covered in wounds and his strength had clearly weakened.
Lin Tian was genuinely impressed by Mo Shu’s ability, even as he recognized the man stood no real chance of winning.
"Your strength is drained. Your grasp of dao is weak. Your body’s still reeling from the backlash of that forbidden technique."
"I have to admit, I didn’t expect you’d still have the strength, and the will, to keep fighting me."
Mo Shu gave a faint smile, then laughed as he looked at Lin Tian. Lin Tian’s read on him was completely accurate. Mo Shu’s body had nothing left to draw on to defeat him.
He’d already lost, decisively. But that didn’t mean he was ready to simply give up.
Lin Tian’s attention sharpened. He watched Mo Shu’s hands form a seal, his body suddenly radiating light, dominantly crimson in color.
That was enough to tell Lin Tian exactly what Mo Shu was about to do, a desperate, reckless act to detonate himself along with his primordial soul.
With no strength left to fight, that option must have felt far more appealing to him than simply surrendering.
"You?!"
"I’m taking you down with me!"
Mo Shu shot forward fast, leaving everything behind, aimed straight at Lin Tian. Hun Ya and the other young elders watched it happen, but not one of them dared try to stop him.
A primordial soul explosion from a Soul Formation cultivator would be no small thing to deal with.
Lin Tian turned his head, sweeping his gaze around. The dome over Black Ink Lake had already been destroyed, leaving the place wide open for him to reach.
He shot off fast, leaving the area behind, heading straight for their demon tower. Hun Ya and the young elders of the Yuanmo Sect realized exactly what he intended to do.
"No, you can’t!" Hun Ya screamed.
"Quiet!"
Lin Tian held them back by slamming his cultivation pressure down on them, making it impossible for them to fly fast enough to catch up.
Even so, he could see clearly that Mo Shu was still closing in from behind. His face was covered in cracks of primordial energy, ready to detonate at any moment.
But since he’d already activated the self-destruct technique, there were only two ways it would end: by his own will, or once the technique’s time limit ran out.
Lin Tian was banking on the second option, waiting for the time limit to expire.
Still, he understood that the moment someone activated a technique like that, their strength and speed would spike dramatically, driven by the violent surge of energy tearing through their body.
Mo Shu’s hand nearly closed around Lin Tian’s leg, his face a web of cracked crimson light, on the verge of exploding.
Lin Tian glanced back and saw Mo Shu was about to catch him. He swung his hand toward the man, releasing a thousand swords that tore straight into Mo Shu’s body.
The old man was stopped in his tracks, no longer able to close the distance toward Lin Tian.
Mo Shu let out a furious scream, his body now nearly consumed entirely by light. He looked ahead and saw Lin Tian had already summoned array flags at his fingertips.
"Array... flags?!"
Lin Tian released the array flags into the sky. Four flags planted themselves into the ground at four different points, forming a golden box shaped enclosure that trapped Mo Shu and the other elders inside the hall.
"HAHAHA!"
"You just built a cage, and put yourself inside it."
"Wait!"
The man standing before Mo Shu raised his hand, tore open a rift in the dimensional boundary, and stepped through it, his eyes never leaving Mo Shu.
"They’re all going to die because of your primordial soul explosion!"
"YOU?!"
The dimensional rift sealed itself shut, leaving Mo Shu unable to reach Lin Tian.
Hun Ya understood exactly what was happening, and dread washed over them as they realized Mo Shu was about to detonate.
Standing on the sky floor outside the enclosure, Lin Tian opened a dimensional rift and looked in on the black ink lake.
Mo Shu was still there, trying everything he could think of to soften the coming blast.
Meanwhile, Hun Ya scrambled to find any way to escape death and injury.
But the longer they waited, the brighter the cracks running across Mo Shu’s soul grew.
When the light finally reached its peak, a blinding flash erupted, followed by an explosion that shook the sky, rattled the ground, and leveled everything in the area.
BLAST!
Brilliant crimson light flared across the sky, accompanied by a deafening roar. Lin Tian stayed outside the enclosure walls, channeling his primordial qi to keep the golden barrier from being torn apart by the shockwave.
Slowly, the blinding light faded away and vanished completely. Lin Tian had managed to keep the golden barrier intact.
He looked inside the golden walls. His eyes took in the sight of the black ink lake, now nothing more than a crater, like something a meteor had carved into the earth.
The demon tower was gone entirely. Every living thing in that place had been destroyed, wiped out completely, and the pillar of demonic light had vanished along with it.
Lin Tian had done it. He pulled back the array flags and deactivated the seal.
Two demon towers destroyed now. He felt certain the Yuanmo Sect would start turning all their focus and firepower on him directly.
If they failed to kill him, their entire grand plan would never come together.
"Time to recover. That fight took a lot out of me."
He tore open a dimensional rift and stepped through it. Not long after Lin Tian left, disciples from the Lingxian Sect arrived, Li Qingxue among them.
They stared in shock at the state of the demon tower at Black Ink Lake.
"W-Who could have possibly destroyed this place?"
