Mo Xiu panicked. He unleashed his best technique, a forbidden method that would cost him his life if he used it.

But that was still better than letting Lin Tian capture him alive and torture him.

He bit down on his finger and smeared the blood across his forehead.

From his forehead and body, a massive five armed demon rose into the sky, shaking the whole region and collapsing countless buildings.

Elsewhere, Zhu Xian had managed to get everyone to safety in time.

They arrived far outside the Yanzhou Sect, along with Han Zhou, Si Lingxi, and all the disciples and elders of the sect.

Their attention snapped forward as a powerful gust of wind, carrying waves of qi, blew in from the direction of the Yanzhou Sect.

The black clouds parted and vanished.

They looked up, craning their necks, and saw clearly for the first time the true strength of a cultivator who had just set foot on the path of immortality.

Zhu Xian trembled, at a loss for words. Her heart was full of awe, admiration, and a touch of dread at the sheer power on display.

"S-So... this is what a real battle between immortals looks like?"

The demon lunged forward, swinging each weapon in its many hands one after another at Lin Tian’s black orb.

Lin Tian realized the five armed demon’s power actually exceeded Mo Xiu’s true strength.

The only way to deal with a demon of that scale was to rely on the power of the Golden Jade Palace.

Lin Tian raised his hand to touch his forehead, and a golden qi orb shot into the sky, forming the projection of a magnificent golden palace, radiating a mesmerizing aura of qi light.

"Bind him!" Lin Tian shouted.

From the golden palace, chains of gold shot forward with tremendous force, locking down the five armed demon’s movements.

Zhu Xian and the others were stunned. They’d had no idea that palace even existed, let alone that it could have such a decisive impact on a fight.

The giant demon’s movements ground to a halt. It let out a furious roar, struggling to break free.

But it couldn’t.

The golden energy from the chains neutralized the qi in its body, gradually draining its strength.

Mo Xiu stared in shock, watching two things appear in the sky at once: Lin Tian’s golden body projection, and the magnificent palace radiating its golden qi aura.

He had no idea what other powers Lin Tian possessed, but he understood one thing clearly: his own strength wasn’t nearly enough to beat him.

This is insane! He’s only an Early Soul Formation cultivator, and he’s already this powerful.

He’s a genuine threat to the Yuanmo Sect!

Mo Xiu pulled out a summoning token and tried to activate it by crushing it. But Lin Tian moved fast, snatching the token away and closing his fist around it.

"This is our fight. Don’t call anyone else in!"

"YOU?!"

"Who exactly are you?!" Mo Xiu shouted, furious.

"I’m Lin Tian, Sect Leader of Lingxian!"

"Sect Leader of Lingxian? Weren’t you still stuck in that valley?!"

"Unfortunately for you, I got out."

"And now, I’m going to kill every last one of you!"

Lin Tian aimed the black orb at Mo Xiu’s body, and it began pulling the demonic spiritual energy out of him, making him scream in agony, as if his very soul was being torn violently from his body.

"AAAKKKKHHH!"

As his power drained away, the giant demon form vanished completely.

Lin Tian drew the golden palace back into his body, aware that its qi aura would weaken if he used it too often.

If that happens, the primordial qi aura inside the palace could run dry, and I won’t be able to use that place to cultivate my soul anymore.

"NO!"

The black orb finished absorbing every last trace of Mo Xiu’s demonic spiritual energy.

The man collapsed to his knees on the ground. His transformation reversed, but his cultivation base was shattered, his dantian sea dried up, his meridians destroyed.

He was halfway to being a cripple.

Lin Tian pulled the black orb back and dissolved it with nothing more than a clench of his fist.

It hadn’t been absorbing energy for his own use. It had been purifying energy that once existed.

"Impossible!"

"This is impossible!" Mo Xiu screamed.

The man turned to face him, walking slowly closer. The nearer he got, the more Mo Xiu’s panic and terror grew.

He crawled backward, begging Lin Tian to spare him. But Lin Tian wasn’t nearly as merciful as Mo Xiu had hoped.

Lin Tian reached out and gripped the old man’s throat, leaving him utterly helpless in his hold.

"They probably begged you the same way you’re begging me now. And what did you do?"

"You purified them. Took their very life essence."

"So... what if I did the same thing to you?"

"N-No," Mo Xiu answered.

Lin Tian raised his hand, then swept it to the side, tearing through the boundary of dimensions and opening a dimensional rift, one that led into the void.

"No, I’m not going to purify you."

"That would be too easy. A quick death, a chance at reincarnation."

"What if I threw you into the void instead? Unable to die. Unable to live for any purpose."

"You’ll suffer there forever, with no sense of time, cut off from all life beyond that dimension."

Mo Xiu kept begging Lin Tian to show him mercy, but Lin Tian refused. In his mind, those who crossed the line had to be punished.

He hurled Mo Xiu’s body into the void, trapping him there with no chance of escape, unable to cultivate, unable to die, living like a dead man.

With Mo Xiu dealt with, Lin Tian turned his gaze to the demon tower still looming in the distance.

With nothing more than a sweep of his hand, a golden slash tore through the tower, bringing it crashing down instantly.

The tower collapsed into ruin, never to be used again.

The Primordial Grand Heaven Transformation came to an end. Lin Tian dropped low toward the ground, fell to his knees, and coughed up blood.

If my cultivation base were still at Nascent Soul, these injuries would’ve been far worse.

I need to thank Senior Yun Feng. The Golden Jade Palace has helped me more than I can say.

"Lin Tian!"

Lin Tian looked up and saw Zhu Xian and Si Lingxi flying toward him. Not just the two of them, Han Zhou had come along as well.

"That was incredible. I’m honestly impressed by what you can do, Lin Tian," Si Lingxi said admiringly.

The man just gave a brief nod in response, then turned his attention to Han Zhou.

"You and your sect have been working with the Yuanmo Sect."

Han Zhou stepped forward, clasped his hands together, and bowed his head. "This junior recognizes how grave our mistake was."

"People are going to hate you for this, but since you didn’t attack me directly, I’ll forgive you," Lin Tian replied.

"You have two choices."

Han Zhou looked up, studying Lin Tian closely. "What are they? We’ll accept whatever you decide."

"You choose me, or you tear down your own cultivation base yourselves?"

"Our cultivation base?" Han Zhou asked.

"Yes," Lin Tian said. "You’re forbidden from cultivating for the rest of your lives."

"That’s still better than dying."
