Chapter 159: Rough Diamonds
A gigantic wave of fire-element power appeared, advancing like a tsunami.
Priam narrowed his eyes, and an immense rage exploded in his chest.
Walhart had really run with everything he had and, during the time Priam was fighting, reached the end with his faction. But instead of rushing into his battle against the puppet... he chose to use his power to move the fire element backward and launch a sneak attack.
"BLOCK!" Dandara’s voice echoed loudly.
Everyone in the faction reacted in fear and desperation. None of them had any hope of surviving; the power being moved by that Super Genius was completely overwhelming.
But at that instant, three figures moved forward without hesitation.
*Eternal Ice Blockade!*
A sharp cry echoed, and then a figure leapt.
Shione pulsed with a blinding and terrifying bluish light. All the power in her body was used in a single burst, without saving even a single drop.
A gigantic ice barrier materialized around the faction.
Two figures remained outside the barrier.
*Gates of Hell!*
Lumiere roared, and an explosion of flames emerged from him and advanced like a meteor at immense speed.
*Azure Flame Cut!*
Flaris physically shot forward, cutting with her sword. Her entire body shone as if she were a sun of bluish flames.
"Haha! Pathetic insects, die!" Walhart said, certain that their attempt was useless.
*BANG!*
Flaris and Lumiere’s attacks hit the elemental wave first.
Flaris was repelled and flew far away, coughing blood. Then, the second impact exploded, and Lumiere shot back from the rebound, crashing against the ice barrier. His sister opened a hole, and he hurried inside.
That wave only retreated a little, then continued forward.
**BOOOOM!**
A violent tremor was felt by everyone.
But...
The ice barrier didn’t break. Even though it became covered in cracks, the enemy’s power was blocked.
"DIE!"
Flaris’s voice echoed like thunder. She shot forward again, still covered in blood, attacking once more.
Lumiere also moved, leaving the barrier and attacking with everything again.
Far away, the Elders watched everything with twisted expressions.
"That brat... how dare he..." All of them were enraged by Walhart’s actions.
That was definitely something worthy of punishment. But by the sect’s rules, since he hadn’t used his power directly and had only moved the elemental wave of the test, even if that entire faction were killed, the punishment wouldn’t be too severe.
As for them, technically, they still couldn’t interfere.
But... the shocking thing was that those three young Mages who came from the same place as Priam had actually managed to block and endure it.
That was a great surprise. The whole time, Priam had been the one doing the work, and they had done nothing. It was as if Priam were carrying them like accessories, only because they came from the same clan.
Now it was clear that wasn’t the case.
They certainly couldn’t compare to the anomaly Priam was showing himself to be, but together, they showed potential far above average.
Of course, potential didn’t mean everything. Who could guarantee that, if they had been born in the Divine Plane, they would have the same mentality and work just as hard to become strong?
Potential and talent could be found everywhere, and few of those people truly became incredible figures. Sometimes, being born in a difficult place and having the right people by your side was what truly created specialists.
But those three were really good disciples to bet on.
"That ice girl and the fire boy have special bodies. They are one with their elements. Because of that, they can extract the maximum from their element, something not even the Super Geniuses are capable of. If they had been born in the Divine Plane, they would certainly be considered on the same level as the Super Geniuses now," an Elder murmured.
Another nodded. "The half-demon girl is a high-level Physical Mage, even by the standards of the Divine Plane. That’s because her anomalous Yin flames give her unique offensive and defensive abilities; besides that, she trained her body properly. If she had received the resources of the other Super Geniuses, she definitely wouldn’t be far below them."
Everyone watching agreed.
Currently, those three couldn’t be compared to the Super Geniuses. But that was because they had been born in the Mortal Plane. They were like rough diamonds that hadn’t yet had the chance to fully shine.
The Elders became excited. Besides Priam, these three were exceptional. This new generation of disciples from their branch promised to break paradigms.
"We can’t let them die. No matter the consequences," the leader of the Elders said dryly. "If there’s no other way, we’ll invade."
Back to the confrontation.
Flaris and Lumiere furiously attacked Walhart.
He had a furious, bloodthirsty expression. Now, he didn’t even bother using the element from the test, directly using his own flaming power instead.
Dozens of fireballs emerged from the void above those two.
"Disappear!"
With a wave from him, Flaris and Lumiere were swallowed by the attack.
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOOM!*
Intense explosions echoed, and flames flew everywhere.
The two attacked and attacked, blocking the fireballs as much as possible.
But they couldn’t destroy even half of them. The rest hit the ice barrier around the faction.
Fortunately, Shione was holding everything up, constantly restoring the defenses.
It was perfect teamwork, with the three of them using what they were best at to hold the line.
Shockingly and incredibly... Walhart couldn’t bring them down in a short time. Unless he pulled out his weapon and truly went 100%.
Meanwhile...
Priam restarted his fight against the lizard.
But this time, his eyes shone with unbelievable coldness.
"ROAR!"
*BANG!*
The lizard’s claws struck the ground violently, raising a huge cloud of dust.
Priam appeared at a distant spot. In his hand, a small purple sphere floated.
It was the lizard’s poison, which he had just collected.
That sphere moved into his body, going straight to the Nexus Seed.
[Synthesize?] [Yes / No]
In two seconds...
[Power Rune: Yang of Piercing Venom]
[A strange power created with the lightning element and a macabre beastly venom. It has a perfectly balanced power of both combined.]
Priam snorted. After several exchanges and tests, he was now certain of this enemy’s weaknesses.
Besides the lightning from before, it was weak to the very poison it emitted.
Priam clenched his fists and shot forward with a gust of wind.
The lizard moved its tail like a whip toward the sky.
Priam appeared exactly there, but this time, his body pulsed with the maximum power of the winds.
Sky-Rending Wind was used without hesitation.
*SLASH!*
The lizard’s tail was cut off, then the concentrated wind strike advanced toward its body.
"ROAR!!!"
A thunderous roar echoed, and the enemy’s scales cracked from the impact. It was a small, minimal wound, but its defenses had been broken.
"Die..." Priam spat, waving his hand.
A green-purple lightning bolt shot forward like a spear, perfectly striking that wound.
It pierced into the enemy, invading its body directly.
Then... all the light in its eyes went out.
It was like cutting the strings of a puppet, or unplugging an appliance from the wall. Its body collapsed, completely without energy. It was the end.
But...
Priam turned toward the outside of the bubble.
"Hahahah... die!" Walhart laughed as he kept attacking nonstop.
Those three were at their absolute limit, and they wouldn’t endure much longer.
Priam clenched his fists, and the green window appeared.
[Synthesize?] [Yes / No]
He accepted with a cold expression.
