Chapter 133: Butcher’s Blade
Priam didn’t have much time to think. In the next second, that figure in the sky moved toward him.
"!"
Everyone near the Ylisse clan’s group widened their eyes in shock.
Suddenly, a wave of suppression fell over everyone, like a hammer coming down on their heads. Everyone felt their bodies freeze in place.
That figure was a tall and strong man, with eyes pulsing in an intense scarlet. He landed less than five meters from Priam, his gaze fierce and focused.
"You! Your Jade Core is anomalous! Are you trying to disguise yourself and infiltrate my sect?! How bold of you, you mediocre Sorcerer!"
That Sage’s words echoed like thunder among the people.
Everyone turned to Priam, and cries of fear and anger echoed at the same time.
"SO DANGEROUS!"
"HOW DARE HE! KILL HIM!"
Shione, Lumiere, and Flaris turned pale and were completely stunned. But...
Priam was extremely indifferent beside them, staring fixedly at that figure.
That Sage didn’t move even a centimeter. He only accused him, without any intention of actually capturing him.
Priam realized that this figure hated him deeply. Why? That made no sense.
Most important of all was that... his Jade Core really was different from ordinary Mages. In the Mortal Plane, no one could tell that so easily, but right after arriving in the Divine Plane, he had already been identified.
[Name: Ghom Karnull]
[Race: Karnull]
[Magical Title: Physical Sage Enlightened, first level]
[Karmic Title: Skull-harvesting Devil]
[Bloodline: 70]
[Anima: 50]
[Wheel of Destiny: 50]
[Loyalty: Terrible]
Priam read everything and took a deep breath. Then, he spoke calmly:
"Senior must be mistaken. What does my Jade Core have to do with any of this?"
That Sage snorted dryly.
"You must have come from the Mortal Plane, so you don’t know. But the Jade Core of Sorcerers always emits a characteristic Death Yin. It’s impossible to escape the senses of people like me. That’s exactly why all Sorcerers, when they want to hide, use techniques to alter their Jade Core, emitting strange fluctuations."
Priam heard that and sighed. It was the first time he had heard about this, but at the same time, he was certain that this Sage could sense through other methods that he wasn’t a Sorcerer.
Could a Mage like him completely hide any trace of Death Yin from a Sage? Normal people couldn’t, but Priam could. But that wasn’t the point.
This Sage certainly knew he wasn’t who he accused him of being. That explained why he didn’t attack. If he did, the other Sages would quickly accuse him of being mistaken, and he could get in trouble. So... he was fishing for something.
"I see..." Priam snorted and moved his pure Ether out of his body.
At that moment, a pulsing aura flowed through his body. Its color was like an immaculate and sacred golden light.
Ever since he faced that Sorcerer in the clan’s coming-of-age test, Priam realized that the golden aura he emitted was something terrifying. That Sorcerer drastically changed her attitude when she saw it, wanting his body no matter what.
Because of that, after learning the Blood-Feast Fists, he only activated the Magical Art directly, without revealing the color of his aura. He had total control over Ether, so it was simple to do.
Now...
"HEAVENS!"
"IMPOSSIBLE!!"
Cries echoed from every direction.
Around Priam, a subtle golden aura flowed like a flame.
Everyone around him completely changed expressions.
The shock was so absurd that many took steps back, moving away from him.
Priam looked calmly at that Sage. He really hadn’t expected that. Deep in that figure’s eyes, besides immense shock... Priam saw an intense killing intent grow even stronger.
"My Jade Core is a bit special. I don’t know the exact reason, but when I created it, it ended up like this. I’ve never had problems leveling up or raising my Rank, and I can learn any Magical Art, from any class," Priam explained, indifferent.
"FUCK! THAT COLOR! IT’S NOT POSSIBLE!"
"He really is a Celestial Mage!"
Priam heard some very specific people among the youths saying that directly. Possibly, they were natives of the Divine Plane and knew more than most.
Priam knew the name of his class because of the system status. But he had never heard anything about this class anywhere in the Mortal Plane. Now... it seemed that, in the Divine Plane, this was truly shocking.
"Hmm... Celestial Mage is a cool name. What’s so good about it?" Priam murmured, turning to those people.
It was a dozen humanoids, all very well dressed and exuding a kind of nobility different from most.
"Fuck... I can’t believe someone mediocre from the Mortal Plane is a Celestial Mage!" a man said, indignant.
A girl from that group sighed.
"Well, it’s not like it’s never happened before. But... the Sovereigns really know what they’re doing. He only had a brilliant start, but it won’t last long." The girl looked Priam in the eyes.
"Brat, you were recognized by the Sovereigns. That can be called a blessing... but for you, it will definitely be a curse. Anyway, they do this very, very rarely, creating a Celestial Mage. I’ve only heard about it myself... they say that, in the entire universe, there should only be a few hundred of them."
Priam narrowed his eyes. Sovereigns? Clearly, that wasn’t his case. And this smelled like big future problems to him.
"Young man, state your name and clan." That Sage’s voice echoed, sharp as a blade.
Priam turned back to him again, nodding.
"Priam, Ylisse clan from the Mortal Plane."
At that moment, that Sage’s eyes changed very subtly.
He took out something spherical the size of a fist, and soon observed something inside it. After a few seconds, he snorted.
"A long time ago in the past, there was an official outer disciple from this same clan. This proves your connection to my sect. As for your Jade Core, indeed, the anomaly came from your special class."
He spoke dryly, then turned and leaped into the skies, without any disturbance.
Silence.
Priam watched that figure shoot toward the inside of the walls. He seemed to have gone directly to resolve something urgent.
Priam pulled back his golden aura. But even after it ended and that Sage left, everyone continued staring at him, murmuring things quietly.
Shione, Lumiere, and Flaris were no different from the others. Even without knowing exactly the meaning of his class, now... everything started to make some sense in their minds.
Priam had always been anomalous, unpredictable, and terrifying. The reason was that he was someone chosen by the Sovereigns!
It didn’t take long for Flaris to notice something different about Priam. He was tense and very serious. Something was very wrong.
’Shit... why did that Sage want to know my name and clan?’
Priam thought, feeling great pressure.
He had barely stepped into the Divine Plane, and a butcher’s blade was already pointed in his direction.
Seeing his Loyalty status as Terrible, and also instinctively sensing his great animosity, Priam already had many clues.
That Sage had used the anomaly in his Jade Core as an excuse, initially, just to approach him.
He had possibly believed that Priam was using some strange Magical Art or Ancestral Art, and that this would certainly come to light. But...
His main goal was to obtain precise information about who he was.
After Priam showed he was something else, something much, much better... that Sage clearly wanted to kill him immediately, if possible.
None of this escaped Priam’s senses.
But what was the reason for all of this?
