Chapter 118: Genius Demon

Silence took over the place for a few seconds. Everyone inside focused on the newcomer, who was short and thin, wearing a black mantle with a hood covering his head.

Inside the hood, they could only see a shadow without many details. It was as if all the light in that well-lit room refused to illuminate him, bending completely around him.

This was a very useful effect of the Power Rune, which used the demon bloodline to cover him. If there were a Demon Mage at the same level as the Supreme General in that place, he could actually nullify it. But that wasn’t the case; all the medical demons there were far inferior.

It was a risky gamble from Priam. He could have been very unlucky and gotten screwed here, but in the end, it worked.

Those present couldn’t see his face properly, but they could feel his gaze. That figure was focused on the unconscious Young Master lying on the bed.

Currently, his ethereal body no longer gave off an emerald-green glow, but instead a cold, sickly bluish color.

Internally, Priam became excited by that opportunity.

"Tsk..." A tongue click sounded from the newcomer, breaking the silence. "Are you trying to save him, or kill him for good?"

"You! Are you the Crucible Devil?!" one of the demons there asked coldly, with clear anger on his face.

"Is there another one who dares use that title?" he replied dryly, in a very rough voice.

At that moment, the three demons stared at him like cold blades. Priam felt that those three didn’t like the real Crucible Devil at all. Maybe they had been greatly harmed by him, directly or indirectly.

Everything lasted mere seconds. The Supreme General and his wife took a deep breath, ignoring the bad feeling they sensed.

"Come in, please." The Supreme General said, trying to be minimally courteous.

His wife watched the figure cautiously, taking steps toward her son. It was obvious they wouldn’t so easily believe that figure was who he claimed to be. But it would be easy to identify the truth by observing his actions.

As for what they felt, that was normal. The Crucible Devil was known to be absolutely malicious and bloodthirsty; no one was his friend. He had to be treated with extreme caution... mainly because they could only sense the power of an elementary-level Mage Disciple from him.

It was impossible for him to be that weak. But it was also understandable that he would hide his true strength. It was easier to move around pretending to be a sheep, only to then devour the wolf.

Priam stopped in front of the bed and murmured with indifference:

"Oh? This glow... I didn’t expect Primordial Scarlet Essence Cores to exist in this small race. However... the purity of this core is a little inferior; it truly is somewhat regrettable. But for curing common injuries, this will be enough."

Priam recognized it because he had read a little in his clan about common things that existed in the Divine Plane. The Primordial Scarlet Essence Core was something possessed by a type of common Beast race.

The "Primordial" indicated a high level, but this race was raised like pigs in the Divine Plane, precisely to supply this core all the time.

Its uses were incredible for recovering the deepest wounds in male figures, because it was connected to Yang. In women, it was quite weak, but there were other types of treasures that matched them better.

In the Divine Plane, it wasn’t hard to buy, as long as one had enough money. But for the reality of the Mortal Plane, buying something like this was terrifyingly difficult.

"So you know how to use it?" The Supreme General’s wife took a step forward, her voice somewhat hurried.

Priam looked at Hahho, who was on the sickbed, and said:

"Of course. However, the brat’s injuries have been drastically worsened. He was practically poisoned to death by some low-level Yin material, and he will die from that before the previous injuries."

"A bunch of nonsense!"

Hearing those words, all the demons in the room showed contempt and disdain.

"You don’t know the severity of the Young Master’s injuries! To cure his internal wounds, the only solution would be to use 100% of the Primordial Scarlet Essence Core! Not even the best healer of the Divine Plane would dare say they could do it. That’s why I had to find a side solution, using the Glacial Yin Magnolia. This could freeze the meridians, giving him more time to live and stability." The Demoness roared, staring at Priam with a furious gaze.

"Supreme General, this ’Crucible Devil’ is obviously a fraud. Hmph, trying to deceive us with his few little skills? What tremendous audacity!"

This Demoness’s name was well known in the Mortal Plane, and she possessed extremely high prestige. Her words carried enormous weight, and the gazes of the Supreme General and his wife sank.

"Hahaha."

Priam gave a small laugh, then spoke with immense indifference. "Just because you can’t do it, or others as mediocre as you can’t either, that doesn’t mean no one else can. That is a typical statement from a frog at the bottom of a well."

That Demoness stood up and snorted, emanating a murderous gaze in his direction. But Priam continued without hesitation.

"You said you used the Glacial Yin Magnolia with good intentions, correct? I’m not doubting your integrity. I’m just asking, do you dare say it worked as you expected? Is this brat now going to live longer than when you found him?"

At that moment, that Demoness let the air escape from her lungs.

Then she turned to Hahho, and her lips moved as she murmured, indignant.

"Indeed. It didn’t work as expected, but he wasn’t harmed. By using another Yang item of the same level, everything can be easily removed without harming him any more than he already was."

"YOU!" the Supreme General roared, furious.

Those demons had demanded a Glacial Yin Magnolia, which was extremely expensive, to make that attempt. Now, not only had they failed completely, but they would also make him pay double to buy another Yang item of the same level and, in doing so, cure the problem they had caused.

The three demons there narrowed their eyes. They had intended to flee before telling this fact, but now that the newcomer had screwed them over.

"Meh, what a waste of time. I’ll solve this in one second."

Suddenly, Priam’s rough voice sounded, waking everyone there from their stupor.

He simply extended his hand forward, toward the dying young man.

[Absorb?] [Yes / No]

*Buzz*

A soft buzzing sound was heard by everyone. Then, their eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

Everyone saw small bluish runes, extremely dense and powerful, coming directly out of Hahho’s body and floating toward that figure’s hand.

It lasted a mere ten seconds, then...

Hahho’s natural emerald-green color returned.

Frightened, the three demons checked his state internally. But... there was no doubt left...

"You... really... removed everything... and didn’t cause any extra damage..." the Demoness stammered.

At that instant, the Supreme General and his wife swallowed hard.

They had personally seen and felt the entire process. Only the purest runes of the Glacial Yin Magnolia had been removed, in the gentlest and most perfect way possible... all in a mere ten seconds!

Not even the greatest Mage specialized in Yin they had ever seen in their lives could possess such absolute control and mastery to repeat that.

They turned to the so-called Crucible Devil, staring at him fixedly.

Even the three demons, knowing perfectly well how terrifying that was, began looking at him with different eyes.

There wasn’t the slightest chance he was a charlatan. Only someone incredible, with an incomprehensible level of power, could do that.

"Congratulations, Supreme General! This time, the Young Master can be saved. This senior truly is the world-renowned ’Crucible Devil.’ If he is willing to help, Young Master Hahho will certainly be safe and sound."

It was the Demoness who said it, now convinced.

Even if the existence of this figure had harmed her life quite a lot, because everyone feared her due to her specialization, thinking she would do sinister things like him... it wasn’t as if he had done it on purpose. Now, she could only admire his skills.

With a long sigh, the Supreme General moved toward Priam and spoke with extreme reverence:

"Senior, please, save my son. I only have one son, and I’m too old to have any chance of having another. As long as Senior is willing to save him, I will certainly repay this debt. I accept paying any amount."

"Oh? Good to know. Do you have Red Prisms?"

Priam’s rough voice sounded like a bolt of lightning inside that place.

Prisms were the currency used in the Divine Plane of all universes. This was a terrifying material that possessed seven distinct colors, each one with a value.

Red was the lowest-value one, worth ten times less than Orange, which was right above it.

This material was impossible to obtain in the Mortal Plane, but to trade anything with the Divine Plane, one needed to possess it. So, that clan certainly had to have some...

"I want, let’s see... five thousand of them should be enough."

Priam risked a value he thought was acceptable. But seeing the Supreme General’s expression turn red, he snorted.

"Okay, since I came from so far away, I don’t mind doing something this small, which won’t cost me more than a few hours. I won’t make things too difficult for you. If you promise to provide me with everything I need to cure him, I’ll accept only one thousand Red Prisms."

The Supreme General’s wife spoke hurriedly:

"Thank you very much! We accept the offer. We will give you everything you ask for, if it is possible."

"Great, let me examine this little guy’s injuries," Priam murmured lightly.

When they saw that "genius demon" approach Hahho, the other three crowded toward him, one after another. Witnessing someone of that level in action, even for a single glance, would undoubtedly be priceless.
