Chapter 131: Plans and Preparation
Following his orders, Flaris activated all the flying boat’s energy at once. The back of the flying boat exploded.
The previously slow flying boat suddenly shot forward at a speed far greater than the others surrounding it.
It was too sudden. They managed to pierce through a gap between the enemies, leaving that position.
All their energy was draining away very fast. The barrier around them became faint, almost nonexistent. It was only enough to protect them from the spatial power around them.
"Hahaha, running away? Keep dreaming!" The mocking voice coming from that boat farther behind echoed.
Then, all the flying boats around them lit up, activating their reserve energy to increase their speed as well.
They could use it without any problem for a few minutes, without compromising anything.
But of course, that would burn through all their emergency reserve.
A chase suddenly broke out on that route.
Priam’s flying boat stayed ahead because they weren’t saving anything.
Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the leader of that group to give a difficult order to one of the boats.
One of them suddenly burned more energy than just the reserve in order to reach the target.
It was a sacrifice to reach the target.
"Slow down..."
At that instant, Priam spoke lightly. Flaris gave the unexpected command without hesitating.
*BOOM!*
With the sudden change in speed, the enemy flying boat collided with the rear, but they were separated by its defensive runes.
The two remained three hundred meters away from each other.
Shione and Lumiere almost fell to the floor, terrified. Their boat barely had any defenses, and that impact should have been enough for deadly waves of spatial power to destroy everyone inside.
But at the moment of the collision, Priam moved to the rear... and then nothing invaded the place.
Priam took a deep breath. He tested it, using the system to control the spatial power around them, and he really managed to block and absorb everything.
Since this spatial power had no owner, it was absolutely easy to control it and protect everyone inside.
With that collision, and with the other side burning a lot of energy, the white barrier around the flying boat that collided also became faint and fragile.
Priam observed the nearby boat and nodded.
[Power Rune: Blazing Inferno]
[Use?] [Yes / No]
Priam accepted, activating his power rune, which had been prepared a long time ago, thinking exactly of this situation.
It had been created using higher-level fire energies that the Pyrix clan possessed. As for its effect...
A small red star came out of Priam, moving toward the enemy flying boat.
In one second, using the spatial tail between the two, it managed to advance and enter the other flying boat.
’You want to screw me over? I’ll never again allow anyone to play with my life, or with the lives of those I want to protect. If you dared to play with fire, you’d better already be prepared to get burned.’
Priam murmured coldly, staring at a dozen people inside the other flying boat.
’Explode.’
**KBOOOOOM!!!**
A terrifyingly bright red and white light expanded over a colossal area.
A shockwave and a terrible sound were felt by everyone, even those very far away.
Of course, in space, sound shouldn’t spread. But the spatial power that existed there was transmitted in all directions, reaching the people.
All the flying boats chasing them were swallowed by the explosive wave.
They shook uncontrollably, with everyone inside becoming desperate and terrified.
They lost a lot of speed and stability. But fortunately, they managed to regain control.
Inside Priam’s flying boat, Shione and Lumiere were lying on the floor, paralyzed with fear.
But Priam, at the rear, truly prevented any power from invading the place again.
He functioned like a natural barrier against any type of energy, being a thousand times more efficient than the boat’s normal barrier.
That didn’t shock them so much... but rather... because that level of explosion...
There shouldn’t have been any chance at all for the people inside that enemy flying boat to survive!
"Now!"
Priam suddenly spoke. Then Flaris commanded it, and their flying boat suddenly made a sharp turn.
In a few seconds, when the intense light that dominated the enemies faded, they sighed in relief...
*BOOOM!*
A boom was felt in the leader’s flying boat, coming from the front.
Everyone inside jumped in fright. Then, they saw a figure shooting inside!
Before they could say anything, Priam stepped into their boat with a cold expression.
"You guys wanted to fight me, right? Then let’s fight."
Priam didn’t give the enemies any time to react, nor did he show any mercy.
When he looked at those half-demons, he was already certain of the reason they had tried to screw him over.
They wanted to rob him.
That demonic Elder from before already had the information that the Ylisse clan had a connection with the Thunderhead divine sect, so he made preparations.
Using those half-demons, he set everything up to corner Priam during the crossing. This was the perfect moment to give him no chance to escape.
They clearly didn’t care about killing him to get his terrifying staff. As for these youths, they had accepted this job; that was why they weren’t innocent. Because of that, he also didn’t care about being brutal.
Priam definitely wasn’t the same as before. He had prepared properly and arranged everything with Flaris.
Priam’s two fists collided against each other.
A terrifying sound rang out, and the Blood-Feast Fists was activated.
Without hesitating, he advanced toward the people. His eyes looked like those of a hungry predator.
"You bastard! Today is the day you die!"
The leader of that flying boat, and of that entire shameless assault, roared furiously.
Facing Priam’s attack, that half-demon activated all his power. The Ancestral Art of his race was used, and yellowish flames erupted from his body, spreading in every direction.
As his flames rose, a gigantic flaming beast appeared within them, making the world tremble.
Everything happened very quickly, and that beast of fire soon opened its mouth and swallowed Priam.
Even space trembled, as if it were being devoured. This was a bizarre and terrifying Ancestral Art!
But...
*BOOM!*
The head of that fire beast suddenly exploded.
That fire beast couldn’t withstand even a single blow. After all, Priam could control the fire in its body, drastically lowering its defenses.
When his beast of flames exploded, that half-demon coughed up a mouthful of blood. That was his strongest killing move!
That was a spiritual beast connected to his soul, created by the power of his lineage. With its destruction, he felt as if his head were being split open.
He vaguely sensed Priam approaching quickly and, in a hurry, summoned a shield of flames.
But the shield had barely formed when Priam’s fist destroyed it.
Continuing the attack, Priam’s fist struck the target in the chest.
*BOOM!*
A rain of blood followed.
He was a fragile Arcanist Mage, and he didn’t have the slightest chance. His body exploded and turned into a mist of blood.
The others inside the flying boat couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
Everything happened in mere seconds. They barely had time to react, and their leader was completely annihilated.
Everyone trembled in fear. As for Priam, he didn’t waste a single second and ignored them.
He went to the center of the flying boat, then grabbed their invitation crystal.
The moment he pulled it out, he turned forward, activating his wind Magical Art with everything he had.
*Woooosh!*
Like a ghost, he disappeared, crossing the spatial tail between the two flying boats and returning to his place.
Lumiere and Shione saw everything happen abruptly. Flaris commanded the frontal charge and, after the collision, stayed only a few meters away so he could return.
As for the flying boat from before, it only slowed down and would stop in the middle of space, without any energy. As for the people inside... that wasn’t Priam’s problem.
They probably wouldn’t be able to return home and would die in the void of space. But since they were still in the Mortal Plane, there was a chance someone would find them, and they would survive.
Priam handed the other invitation crystal to Flaris.
When their own energy ran out, they just had to switch to this one, which still had plenty of energy, and then they would reach the location.
He turned toward the surroundings.
All those flying boats that had been chasing him hurriedly moved away. Without their leader, and after seeing that brutal counterattack, they wouldn’t even dare dream of messing with them again.
Priam snorted, now more relaxed.
His plans and preparation had been enough this time.
Every day, his skills and capabilities improved a lot; insects at the same level as him, as long as Priam was paying attention, couldn’t harm him in any way.
They hadn’t even officially reached the Divine Plane yet, but things were already quite lively.
