It was thanks to Darla inviting him to a movie last night that Stephan instantly had an idea.

Alana immediately agreed, “Sure! I haven’t been to the movies in ages!”

As far as she could remember, the last time she’d been to the movies was back in college. Since graduating, she’d been so busy running around that she hadn’t had much time for movies.

Besides, going to the movies alone wasn’t much fun.

Hearing this, Stephan suddenly asked with a hint of jealousy, “Be honest, have you ever gone to the movies with another guy?”

“No, you’re the first.”

“So before this...”

“I used to watch them with my best friend.”

Stephan was thrilled. He pulled her close and kissed her passionately, then confessed of his own accord.

“Me too. You’re the first girl I’ve ever asked out to a movie.”

Alana’s eyes crinkled with a smile. “It seems going to the movies as a couple is a first for both of us.”

Stephan curved his lips. “From now on, we’ll have many more ‘firsts’ together.”

Alana smiled. Yes!

She was really looking forward to it.

After eating breakfast at home, the two began thinking about what movie to watch.

“Let’s go to the theater and pick one there.”

Alana pulled out her phone and said earnestly, “No need to go through all that trouble. We can check Oasis first to see what good movies are playing. Once we’ve picked one, we can compare prices across different theaters to see which one has the cheapest tickets, and then decide which theater to go to.”

Stephan was speechless.

Somehow, it felt like her description made it sound even more complicated than he had imagined.

But since he’d never been to the movies before, he figured she, with her experience, should take the lead.

Alana quickly picked a movie.

After comparing prices, she chose a theater offering a 12% discount, plus a free coke and popcorn with the purchase of two tickets.

Alana quickly selected two seats in the middle of the theater with a good view, then placed the order and paid.

She raised an eyebrow at Stephan. “I paid for it...this movie is on me!” Her voice rose slightly, tinged with playfulness.

Stephan found it amusing and ruffled her hair. “I’m truly lucky to have a girlfriend who

spoils me so much.”

Alana’s face flushed instantly.

Here he goes again, spouting all that sweet talk. I really can’t stand him.

Stephan looked down and asked, “Ready to go?”

Alana replied, “No rush. I’ll go upstairs to change into a dress and put on some light

makeup.”

After all, it was their first date. She had to make it special and look her best.

Stephan curved his lips. “Then I’d better get ready properly, too.”

The young couple exchanged a knowing smile, stood up in unison, and walked hand in hand toward the bedroom.

Alana picked out a blue strapless dress with a fitted waist that hugged her slender waist, making her figure look delicate and graceful.

She also put on some makeup and applied lipstick. A light touch of makeup enhanced her features, making her look even more delicate and beautiful.

Her lips, painted with lipstick, were rosy and full, like a juicy red cherry, looking so tempting they seemed ready to burst.

Stephan saw this and wanted nothing more than to pull her close and kiss her passionately.

Alana stopped him. “No kissing...the lipstick will smudge.”

Stephan raised an eyebrow and said shamelessly, “So what if it smudges? Let it smudge into my mouth. My lips are parched...I need some lipstick to moisturize them too.” With that, he wrapped his arms around Alana’s slender waist, leaned down, and gently brushed his lips against hers.

It left a trace of color.

The man licked his lips slightly, then curved his mouth into a smile. “It’s a bit faint, but it has a very fresh, crabapple blossom scent. Delicious.”

Alana blushed and couldn’t help but glance at her reflection in the mirror. Sure enough, her lipstick was smudged.

She glared at him angrily, her tone sharp. “Don’t you dare do that again!”

Stephan smiled.

His girlfriend was so cute, like a little kitten with its fur all ruffled up, he just wanted to pet her.

In the end, Alana had to reapply her lipstick.

Stephan wasn’t wearing a suit today; he was just wearing a blue shirt, the same shade as Alana’s dress.

So when they stood together, it looked like they were wearing matching outfits.

Once they were all set, the two got into the car and headed for the movie theater.

On the way there, Stephan’s phone rang.

Since he was driving, it wasn’t convenient for him to answer, so he asked Alana to take it for him.

His phone was in his back pocket. Alana had to reach into his back pocket to find it.

His pocket was quite deep; she fumbled around in it for a long time but couldn’t get it out. The girl’s soft little hand was scratching around between his legs, making him feel aroused.

Stephan felt a sudden heat rise in his throat. “Lana, I asked you to get my phone, what exactly are you doing?”

Alana realized she’d touched a place she shouldn’t have, and her cheeks flushed

involuntarily. “I didn’t mean to. Why did you have to tuck your phone so deep...”

Stephan clenched his teeth, his throat burning as if flames were about to burst forth. “Hurry up, or we’ll miss the movie.”

Alana bit her lip and, in one swift motion, pulled the phone out.

She glanced at the caller ID: Pesky mom.

Huh?

Does anyone actually label their own mother like that?

Alana’s hand trembled involuntarily, and she looked at the man, somewhat flustered.

“That looks like your mom’s number. Should I... answer it?”

“Answer it.”

Alana couldn’t help but feel nervous. “I’ll just answer it for you, I won’t say a word.”

Stephan glanced at the nervous girl and smiled. “What’s the matter? Is the bride afraid to meet her in-laws?”

Alana blushed and couldn’t bring herself to answer.

Stephan knew she was embarrassed, so he smiled and reassured her, “Go ahead and answer it. I won’t give you away.”

Hearing this, Alana finally felt at ease and answered the call for him. As soon as the call connected, a furious voice came through.

“You little brat! I’ve been calling for ages, and you’re just picking up now?! What the hell have you been up to all this time?!”

Alana hadn’t expected Dr. Cynthia’s voice to be so loud and angry; when they’d met recently, she’d seemed so easygoing and friendly.

The sound accidentally hit her ears, making them ring, so she instinctively moved a little further away.

Stephan glanced at the girl beside him.

Seeing her pouting and frowning, he quickly moved the phone away, he couldn’t help but find it amusing and laughed out loud.

“You little brat, you still have the nerve to laugh?!”

Stephan remained impassive, his tone calm. “Mom, what’s the matter? Get to the point. Your son has important business to attend to.”

Cynthia snapped, “Did you open the package Darla delivered to you last night?”

“Nope.” He’d been too busy last night to even think about opening it. “What did you send me?”

“Something good, of course, to boost your manly function. You haven’t had a girlfriend in forever, no woman in your life...I suspect you have some deficiency!”

Upon hearing this, Alana felt a strange flush rise to her ears.

Deficiency?

Stephan?!

In what world?

Stephan couldn’t help but glance at Alana to see her reaction. “Mom, you’re trying to embarrass my girlfriend to death.”

Cynthia laughed in exasperation. “Cut it out. Don’t think I don’t know you’re lying about having a girlfriend, and ‘embarrassing her to death’?”

“It’s true. My girlfriend is right here with me.”

Alana stared at him in disbelief.

Hadn’t he just promised her he wouldn’t expose her?

This jerk...just as expected, he says one thing and does another!

Cynthia just snorted in derision, not believing a word of it.

“I’m asking you, Darla wanted to invite you to a movie last night. Why didn’t you say yes?”

“I don’t like her. Why would I agree?”

Cynthia frowned. “Just because you don’t like her doesn’t mean you can’t try to get to know her!”
