Chapter 227 Rage mixed with helplessness
Cole watched Stephan and Alana leave, his fists clenched.
Gritting his teeth, he slowly raised his clenched fist and wiped the blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Watching it all unfold before his eyes, his blood boiled. A sense of rage mixed with helplessness racked through his chest, the pain so intense it nearly choked him...
Eve had witnessed the entire scene as well. She was so shocked she forgot how to react.
Just moments ago, she had felt that the man looked familiar.
But the moment she saw him lean down to kiss Alana, it all came flooding back.
“Holy shit! Isn’t he that super-hot guy with broad shoulders, a slim waist, and long legs who paid the bill for Alana at this restaurant?! He really is her boyfriend now!”
And just a moment ago, he and Cole had nearly come to blows over Alana. Two men fighting over one woman?
What a thrilling scene of male rivalry?!
Wait!
Wait a minute!
Eve suddenly realized the man had taken Alana away and her phone was still here...
At that moment, Alana was shoved into Stephan’s car.
The man stepped on the gas and drove away. His expression remained stern the entire time, and he didn’t say a word.
Alana’s heart was pounding with anxiety; she wanted to ask something, but her mind
was a jumble.
Besides, she was still confused about what had happened that night and couldn’t quite put her thoughts into words.
When the man drove the car back home, Alana was pulled toward the car by the man, then pressed forcefully against it.
The two of them were pressed together, their bodies fitting together perfectly.
She bit her lip, her eyes filled with confusion as she looked at him. “Stephan, what’s wrong with you?”
Stephan’s eyes darkened. He raised his hand to cup her delicate chin and, without hesitation, leaned down to kiss her soft, supple lips.
It was fierce and forceful, brimming with possessiveness.
“Mmm...” The man kissed her so fiercely and relentlessly that Alana was completely powerless to resist.
Her hands instinctively pressed against his chest, trying to push him away, but they were limp and weak, unable to muster even a shred of strength.
It only made him kiss her harder and deeper.
Their breaths intertwined, their hot breath mingling, creating an atmosphere of intense intimacy.
Alana was kissed into a daze, her legs growing weak. Her lips were repeatedly devoured and ravished by him.
Only when she was nearly out of breath did he finally let her go. She buried her face in his chest, panting heavily, her lips swollen and vividly red from the kiss.
Her beautiful eyes were wet from the assault, misty and hazy, looking so pitiful.
Stephan desperately wanted to press himself against her again and take her fiercely... Seeing the man about to kiss her again, Alana couldn’t help but press her hand against his chest to stop him from going any further.
“Enough, enough, stop kissing me...”
Stephan’s eyes darkened as he grabbed her hands, clasping them tightly against the car door.
Then he lowered his head, burying his face in the tender hollow of her neck, and sucked on it fiercely.
The girl’s body trembled uncontrollably; unable to bear it, she let out a whimper.
Stephan released her and saw the bright red marks that had appeared on her delicate neck, marks that belonged solely to him.
His breath brushed against them, his voice hoarse to the extreme. “Alana, what should we do? I want so badly to tie you to the bed and make you cry out in pleasure...”
Hearing this, Alana trembled even more violently.
Noticing his unusual behavior, she looked at him with tear-filled eyes, her lips trembling helplessly. “You... just tell me...what’s wrong with you? And... how could you have met up with Cole tonight...”
Stephan pressed his forehead against hers, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he struggled to steady the chaotic rhythm of his breathing.
It took him a long time, but his momentarily lost composure gradually returned.
His dark eyes fixed intently on her, clearly seeing the anxiety and panic overflowing in her own gaze.
His Adam’s apple bobbed for a moment, and he decided to be honest.
“Last night, he sent you a message.”
Alana’s head spun. “What? What message did he send me? How come I didn’t know about it?”
“You were asleep at the time. I was just about to carry you back to your room to rest when his message came through.”
Stephan paused, his deep, dark eyes fixed on her, unblinking. “I just happened to see it.”
Alana’s eyelid twitched violently. Under his gaze, she felt inexplicably nervous, her heart racing.
“What... did he send me?”
Stephan’s dark eyes locked onto her fair, delicate face as he studied her reaction.
“He asked when you’d be free to meet up. I replied on your behalf, asking what kind of date he meant. He said the one you promised him.”
Alana’s breath caught in her throat as she suddenly realized why he’d been acting so odd today.
So, he’d misunderstood!
She immediately said, “Stephan, let me explain! I’ve already told you this before. Because of what happened last time when you beat him up, I was afraid he’d hold you responsible, so I agreed to treat him to a meal. I actually wanted to invite you to join me in treating him to dinner, but when I asked you last time, you didn’t agree, so I...”
Stephan had actually guessed that was the truth.
When he walked in, Cole had said in shock, “Why are you here alone? Where’s Alana?”
That indicated that Cole believed the dinner was meant not only for Alana, but for him as well.
So, upon catching this crucial detail, he quickly realized he really must have misunderstood Alana.
She hadn’t intended to secretly go out to dinner with Cole, she’d planned to invite him along as well.
However, she hadn’t had time to ask if he’d agree. Once he figured this out, he stopped dwelling on it...
What truly concerned him, however, was...
Stephan cupped her chin again, his gaze fixed on her, and asked earnestly,
“Lana, you and Cole, you’ve known each other for years, right?”
Upon hearing this, Alana’s eyes immediately flickered.
“Yes.” She bit her lip. “He... what did he tell you?”
Stephan stared at her, his eyes dark and brooding. His deep voice was deliberate, each word dripping with jealousy.
“He said he’s known you since middle school. Back then, you used to stick to him like glue; you loved being with him. He knows everything about you, every single detail. You two are deeply connected. And you gave him lots of birthday gifts. I heard you even climbed so many steps to get him a string of sandalwood beads, praying for his health and safety. The bead is on his wrist right now, he even flaunted it in front of me on purpose...”
With every word he spoke, Alana’s heart flew a little higher, until it was practically in her throat.
Finally, when she heard that she had climbed so many steps to obtain a string of sandalwood beads for Cold, her eyelid twitched violently, and she hurriedly explained.
“No! There weren’t that many steps. Maybe 100? Was it even up to?”
Stephan’s expression didn’t improve; on the contrary, it darkened considerably.
“That’s still many! So, you really climbed those stairs to beg for a sandalwood beads for him?”
Alana felt guilty and couldn’t quite meet the man’s dark, piercing gaze. “Well... sort of.”
