Chapter 202 True past
If she were to confess to him about her true past with Cole, wouldn’t he be even angrier?
Even if she had mentioned some things that night about Cole, it seemed Stephan didn’t quite grasp that and was only focused on the fact that she wasn’t dating anyone during the time he was pursuing her.
Well, she had been murmuring most of her words that day.
Never mind, she’d just have to take it one step at a time. Alana had no idea how to soothe an angry man, after all, she’d never had to do it before, so she could only repeat,
“Don’t be mad. I’m telling you now, aren’t I? Besides, I haven’t even gone to dinner with him yet. If I actually went out to dinner alone with him, then you could get angry then.”
But to her surprise, the man grew angrier the more he listened.
Stephan turned his dark eyes toward her, staring intently. “What? You really do want to go out to dinner alone with him?”
Alana immediately shook her head, shaking it like a rattle, “No, no! That’s not what I meant! What I mean is, could you come with me?”
Stephan felt a little better hearing that. This little girl wasn’t bad, she was still thinking of him and being considerate of his feelings.
If she were willing to take him along, that would be a different story.
Although the man was pleased on the inside, he didn’t show it on the surface. He snorted and said sarcastically, “If I go with you, won’t your Manager Cole mind?”
Alana quickly waved her hands and said, “No, no...actually, he’s the one who asked
me to bring you along.”
Stephan furrowed his brow; his previously elated mood plummeted to rock bottom in
an instant. “What do you mean? He asked you to bring me along? If he hadn’t made that request, you wouldn’t have brought me along?”
Alana widened her almond-shaped eyes. “Ah, no, no, that’s not what I meant...”
Oh dear, when you’re nervous, everything you say just comes out wrong.
She clearly didn’t mean that, why was it getting more and more off track the more she talked?
Alana really wished she could slap her own clumsy, tongue-tied mouth.
Stephan’s dark eyes narrowed sharply, as if he could effortlessly see right through all her little thoughts.
“If that’s not what you meant, then what else could it be? If he hadn’t made that request, I bet you wouldn’t have even thought of bringing me along, would you?”
Alana sighed, heavily.
Ah!
Wait, was he a mind reader or something? How does he know everything?
Seeing her shocked reaction, Stephan knew he’d guessed right. His long fingers couldn’t help but pinch the soft flesh at her waist, his tone tinged with a hint of gritted teeth.
“Lana, you’ve gone silent! I guessed right, didn’t I?”
She blinked her slightly guilty eyes, her fair cheeks flushing faintly. “I...I didn’t...”
Stephan snorted with a laugh. “If you’re not, why are you blinking nervously and stammering? You can’t even get your words straight?”
“I...” Hearing the man’s tone so certain, Alana felt even more guilty. She hesitated, unable to make any sense of what she was trying to say.
“Very well. I see you’ve gotten bold. You’re asking for it!” Stephan laughed in exasperation and immediately flipped their positions.
Originally, she had been sitting on his lap, held in his arms. Now she was pinned beneath him.
And beneath her was the soft sofa.
After pinning her down, the man buried his handsome face in the crook of her neck,
nibbling and biting her incessantly.
Her delicate skin was soon marked with red imprints.
Alana pushed weakly against his chest with both hands. “Stephan, will you let me explain? Even if I did treat him to a meal, I didn’t mean anything by it, I just wanted to stop him from pressing charges against you!”
“I’m not listening!” The man’s voice was low as he continued his actions.
As if. Now that he finally had a chance to teach her a lesson...or take advantage of
her...he wasn’t about to let it slip away.
Soon, Alana was left breathless from his advances, her neck and chest marked with
the traces he’d left behind.
Her clothes had also been torn off almost completely.
After what seemed like an eternity, the man lay on top of her, glaring at her.
“Lana, you didn’t bring a pad to work this morning. Is it over already?”
Her mind was foggy; when the man asked, she answered instinctively. “Yes, it’s over...”
Stephan pinched her flushed cheeks, looking as though he was already aroused.
His eyes burned with intensity, his voice low and hoarse. “Then... can we do it?”
She understood what the man meant. She jolted awake, and her mind...which had
been clouded by his touch suddenly cleared by more than half.
“No, not yet...It’s still too soon...we did it so much after I got back from my hometown. It’s still too delicate... we can’t do it yet...”
Stephan chuckled, and even though he was dying of anticipation, he let her off the hook.
He stood up, picked up a thin blanket from the sofa, and carefully wrapped it around the girl.
Then he pulled her back into his arms, savoring the warmth and softness of her body. He’d had his fun, and his anger had subsided.
Aside from a certain part of him stirring restlessly, the man was now, for the most part, calm and composed.
Alana’s clothes had all but vanished.
Her skirt and underwear had been casually tossed onto the floor by the man.
The man, however, remained dressed in his suit and tie; though his clothes were slightly wrinkled, it did nothing to detract from his dignified and aloof demeanor.
Alana couldn’t help but wrap herself tighter in the pitifully thin blanket, silently
grumbling to herself: what a beast in human form.
He’d just devoured her all over; her skin felt sticky and clammy, covered in his...
Stephan ruffled her hair with his large hand. “I’ll go with you to meet this Cole guy.”
Perfect. He wanted to see for himself exactly what this Cole guy was up to!
A challenge?
He wasn’t afraid of a challenge!
Stephan said coldly, “Perfect. Let him see just how powerful your man is. And while I’m at it, I’ll warn him to stay the hell away from you. If he dares to have any improper intentions toward you, I’ll beat him to death!”
“And you...don’t keep anything from me from now on. I’ve told you before: if there’s
anything you can’t handle, just tell me, and I’ll take care of it for you. You want to handle everything on your own? What good am I as your boyfriend then? You’ve got to let me prove my worth as your boyfriend, don’t you?”
After a moment’s pause, it dawned on him. “Oh, right...when are you two meeting up?” After saying that, he waited for her reply.
But she didn’t reply.
The man furrowed his brow and couldn’t help but glance down at the girl in his arms, only to find that she had already curled up against him, closed her eyes, and fallen asleep. She looked so peaceful as she slept.
“Huh?!”
Wait, he’d been so domineering and said all that...only to have it fall on deaf ears?
He was both annoyed and amused, unable to resist reaching out to gently poke her soft cheek. “Lana, when will you ever let yourself rely on me a little more? Stop trying to do everything on your own, okay?”
*************
The next morning, when Alana woke up in bed, the spot next to her was already cold. She was used to it; Stephan almost always woke up before her. But as she got up, she noticed a sticky note on the nightstand.
She picked it up and read it.
[I have an urgent matter to attend to. I’m heading out for a bit.]
[I made breakfast this morning and left it on the table. If it’s cold, just pop it in the microwave to warm it up.]
His handwriting was beautiful...bold and vigorous, flowing like a dance. His confidence and strength were evident in every stroke.
Alana felt a warm glow in her heart as she read it, then tucked the sticky note into a
drawer. She went into the bathroom to wash up.
But when she saw the girl in the mirror, Alana couldn’t help but scream.
In the mirror, her delicate neck and collarbone were covered in a dense cluster of red kiss marks left by the man.
She was both furious and embarrassed.
“Stephan, are you a dog or something?!”
How was she supposed to go to work looking like this?
With marks this obvious, anyone who saw them would start imagining all sorts of things.
