“Holy crap, he must be trying to steal you away from your boyfriend!”
The thing was, even if she wasn’t with Stephan, she still wouldn’t have considered taking a chance on Cole again.
That was something Cole just wouldn’t accept.
“So, I’ve been thinking, I should just quit. Otherwise, having to face him every day at work is pretty awkward and annoying.”
Plus, she was his assistant, she couldn’t very well ignore his orders.
So, she was in a bind.
Eve nodded. “Alright, my company is actually hiring right now. If you manage to quit, I’ll put in a good word for you!”
Alana smiled. “Thanks, Eve. Dinner tonight is on me!”
After dinner, the two hailed a cab and headed to the mall to pick out a few ties.
Armed with the experience from last time, choosing a tie went exceptionally smoothly;
they were done in less than half an hour.
But the real challenge was yet to come.
Alana had decided to buy a set of sexy lingerie as a reward for Stephan.
Eve’s eyes widened, and she held up a finger. “Just one?! That’s not even enough for your man to tear apart!”
Alana blushed and said, “Oh my, don’t say that so loud. One is enough, I can’t reward him with that many.”
Eve raised an eyebrow. “True. You can’t spoil a man too much, or he’ll start taking advantage of it.”
Alana’s cheeks were still flushed. “Yeah, you’re right.”
“Well, let’s go inside then.”
“Well...” Just as they reached the door, Alana started to have second thoughts.
She was too shy to go in.
“What are you afraid of? I’m here with you!” Eve simply pulled her inside.

When Stephan got home, he found out that Alana had a date with someone else. His phone had died, so he hadn’t seen her message.
It wasn’t until he got home and charged it that he saw the message.
[I’m meeting my friend for dinner and shopping after work today, so you don’t need to wait for me to eat together.]
He narrowed his dark eyes. Dinner and shopping with a friend? Who was this friend?
It couldn’t be her Manager Cole, could it?!
That damn woman, did she sneak off to have dinner and go on a date with another man while he wasn’t looking?!
Besides, did he ever say he wouldn’t go with her?
He had already agreed to go with her last night, but she was asleep and didn’t hear him. This morning he had to host a major foreign client, so he rushed out without having time to tell her about it.
But he never expected this girl to go ahead and do it without asking first?!
Stephan was seething with jealousy.
Stephan: [Who are you going out to dinner with?! Answer me, I’m waiting. THIS IS URGENT!!!].
Sending a message wasn’t enough, so Stephan immediately video-called Alana. But to his surprise, the moment he sent the request, she rejected his video call.
His gaze grew increasingly menacing.

Alana glanced at Eve, her face flushing. “My, my boyfriend...”
Eve blinked. “What? Why is he video calling you?”
“I don’t know. I’ll reply to his message first.”
Alana: [Sorry, I’m out shopping with my best friend right now. It’s not convenient to take a video call.]

The girl’s skin was delicate and smooth, as if it might break at the slightest touch. The fine white fuzz on it was clearly visible.
The girl called out nervously, “Hey, Stephan...”
Stephan chuckled, “What are you so nervous about? It’s just a video call.”
“Hehe...” She was so embarrassed she didn’t know how to respond.
Eve was very curious about Alana’s boyfriend and wanted to lean in for a better look, but Alana’s face was completely blocking the view.
She silently opened and closed her mouth, mouthing, “Let me see your boyfriend.”
Alana didn’t dare move the phone screen and shook her head decisively.
To Stephan, she looked like a sneaky little dog!
Something was up!
And she was shaking her head...but at whom?
His dark eyes narrowed again. “Rotate the camera. Let me see where you are.”
Alana blushed and looked away. “I...I’m at the mall. There’s nothing to see. I’m not really in a position to talk right now. Can we talk about this when I get home?”
“No. I want to see right now.”
Alana blushed and whispered, “I’ll show you something else when I get home. Is
that okay?”
Stephan chuckled. “Something else? What exactly? Will you strip naked for me? Or take a romantic bath together?”
Eve’s eyes widened.
Oh goodness, was this something she can listen to for free without a VIP subscription?!
Alana’s face flushed bright red all over, her ears and neck turning a deep crimson. “Stephan, I’m out in public!!!”
The man was shameless.
“I know you’re out, which is exactly why I said it...to keep you from getting hit on by some random guy.”
Eve blinked.
What random guy?
Alana whispered, “Where did you get this ‘random guy’ nonsense? Don’t make things up...I’m with my best friend right now!”
Stephan wasn’t about to let it go. “You’re with your best friend...and you won’t let me see? Are you with your best friend, or with some other guy?”
Alana gasped. “Huh?!”
