The City Lord of Sky City and his daughter truly have something special, no wonder they have held their position for so long.

This time, she underestimated them.

Another attack from Wu Wei was coming.

Shen Tang gritted her teeth, hurriedly dodging, but she was too slow. She was still caught by the aftermath, sent flying several meters away, and she tasted blood in her throat.

Her body was covered in cuts, too many to count, and she couldn’t bother to check; all she felt was pain everywhere.

She forced herself to stay upright, summoning strength, and sent Ice Blades one after another, while her spiritual power formed an invisible barrier to protect her vital spots.

Even though she was spent, she still managed to push Wu Wei back twice.

Wu Wei had never encountered someone like this; surprise was evident in her eyes.

Wu Wei did want to kill Shen Tang, but she was sincere in what she said earlier. If it weren’t for this woman being in her way, she might have truly respected her.

But unfortunately, there were no ifs.

She must die today!

No matter how much Shen Tang held on, that energy corruption wouldn’t wait for her.

Her vision began to blur; Wu Wei’s figure multiplied into three. Her superpower was nearly exhausted, her wounds untreated, and she was barely able to stand.

Finally, after taking hit after hit, Shen Tang couldn’t hold on any longer.

"It’s all over."

Wu Wei mustered all her strength for one last attack.

Shen Tang’s heart was filled with desolation. Was she going to die here?

So unwilling.

There was still so much left undone: Liu Ye was yet to be found, the missing Little Snake not recovered, Lu Xiao not brought back, and she didn’t know if Shen Li was safe. The Hand of Creation was still at large...

But no matter how unwilling, she couldn’t hold on any longer.

Her vision went black as she lost consciousness and passed out completely.

No one noticed that at the moment she fell, a shadow flashed by, catching her and disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"Boom!"

Wu Wei’s full-force strike landed with a thunderous roar, rocks flew everywhere, and the immense energy almost blasted right through the entire mountaintop.

That woman was dead for sure!

After the dust settled, the mountaintop was indeed leveled. A massive crater was left where the woman had stood, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Wu Wei and her subordinates searched the area, but even the remnants of a body couldn’t be found, likely obliterated.

Now she was relieved.

Wu Wei waved her hand, "Let’s go."

And with that, they headed back home.

...

Thousands of miles away, surrounded by sheer cliffs,

The mountains here were thousands of meters high, shrouded in mist. The terrain was treacherous and layered such that people rarely came this way, making it a perfect hidden spot, unlikely to be discovered.

A tall man was walking this perilous and remote mountain path, carrying someone in his arms.

The man wore a black tight-fitting outfit, outlining his tall and lean frame. His muscles were clearly defined and flowing, each one brimming with explosive strength.

He wore a mask that obscured his features, though he appeared quite young.

In his arms was an unconscious woman, her black hair flowing like clouds, face pale but exquisitely beautiful. Her robe was tattered and even stained with blood, making her injuries look severe.

The man carried her as if she weighed nothing.

Ahead was a gorge tens of meters wide. He effortlessly leapt across, agile and light, moving like a shadow through the cliffs, swift as the wind.

Strangely enough, the man walked leisurely, yet seemed to shrink the ground beneath his feet as the surrounding scenery quickly zipped by.

In no time, the man carrying the woman reached the bottom of the valley.

Here the terrain was gentler, with a small flat area where a stone house had been constructed.

The stone house seemed temporary, built from dozens of large stones, each taller than a person and likely weighing several tons. Yet it was quite sturdy, with doors and windows carved out.

Inside, the space was small, about twenty or thirty square meters. There was just a makeshift stone bed and some simple furniture.

The man pulled bedding out from his Space and spread it on the bed, then laid the woman down.

Although his movements were brisk and appeared somewhat rough, he was actually incredibly gentle and patient.

He laid her carefully on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and his actions revealed an unexplainable expertise.

He stared at the unconscious woman on the bed for a long while, then crouched down, reaching out his hand.

The man’s hand was broad and long, with slight calluses on his fingertips, hinting at a life not of comfort but of toughness and combat.

He didn’t dare apply too much pressure for fear of startling her, so he gently touched her forehead, smoothing her disheveled hair aside.

His fingers paused in midair for a moment, then softly touched her face.

The gesture was unbelievably tender, as if handling a precious treasure regained.

Yet he said nothing, merely watching for a long while before getting up and leaving.

After a while, he returned, holding a freshly dug stone basin and freshly boiled hot water.

He tested the water temperature—neither too hot nor too cold—then retrieved a clean towel, dampened it, and carefully wiped the blood and grime from the woman’s face, then her arms, hands, legs, and feet.

His touch was just as gentle, attending to her as if she were a newborn cub.
