Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 451: Baron's briefing

"But how the hell did you do that? It would be illegal to bring the monster inside the walls alive, wouldn't it?

For once, drop the tone of your voice and ask.

A bribe. That's what I'm gonna say, deny it.

If you brought in illegally, you can't make it look like a bunch like this.

Permission in some way, at least acquiescence should have been taken.

Nobility also has something called the Law of Aristocracy, and this is Count Territory.

Responsibility for governing rests with the Count, and it is difficult for the Baron to bend that rule.

Then it should have made some special provision, but it doesn't look like a scholar-skinned nobleman like the Baron has enough skill to attach that kind of political acrobat.

When that happens, is this guy (Jilboa) again?

When I stare at you with my farewell fears,

"It's not a big deal. Let's take a look at the Baron's sunny scene."

Seeing, the baron was about to put the audience in front of him and start his speech with a cup.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for having responded to this invitation from me. I came back with the adventurers there with amazing adventures and amazing achievements. We want to share our experiences and records with you, and we're here to host this debriefing."

Quite a smooth speech.

From the audience, there is paralysis and applause.

"Now let me introduce you to the adventurers who have made this amazing adventure trip together! The bravest army of swordfangs in this city! He is Lord Zilboa, the guardian of the city and a new hero! Go ahead, forward!

Jilboa moves next to the Baron after being nominated.

The people who have followed us as escorts also leave Kilik behind and all stand behind Jilboa.

If you do this, Jilboa clearly looks like a superior human being even standing next to a nobleman.

Sometimes you can actually follow a bunch of heavily armed men behind you, but it's like a general's standing.

"This time, with the full cooperation of Lord Zilboa and the Sword Tooth Corps, I have stepped into the back of the northern forest, where the monsters live..."

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

"Lord Gilboa, is it time?"

Baron Bertoldo asked as he was rocked by a specially designed carriage.

Even though we've stepped into the northern forest zone for half a day and picked the place we've pioneered as much as possible to move on, moving on by carriage is becoming a limit.

"Right. It should be time to see it and come."

Jilboa responds from the horse.

It is a journey in search of a cannibal giant (Auga).

Previously there have been requests and sightings even not so far from the city, but there have been fewer requests for monster exorcisms in closer proximity to the city than before as to whether the monster sweep is progressing effectively here.

That's why we're on a purposeful expedition all the way to the north and stepping into the back of the forest zone based on sightings in that village.

"So you don't even run into one of the goblins in the back of this forest, so there's got to be a higher monster."

The Baron nods at Jilboa's explanation.

"I wonder how the new tools are doing. If it works, we should be able to capture it."

The various types of weapons that the crew can carry are specially crafted tools ordered for this capture operation for specialized blacksmiths.

The baron was thoughtful because he also provided information about the size and movements of the monster he was supposed to be, and had his opinions taken into account.

"Right. However, even if I say I trained you, the actual battle is different. It doesn't always work from the start."

For Jilboa, this request is a great training opportunity for the team.

While the size of the Sword Tooth Corps increases and the way it fights and trains becomes more efficient, new members with little experience of adventurers and mercenaries seem to lack the flexibility and stickiness to unforeseen events.

I would like to make it a little more sophisticated by gaining a different kind of experience: the capture of monsters.

That's what I think.

"What! There's so much you can learn from a corpse! Anyway, less scratches!

Baron Bertoldo exclaimed intently if he was excited about the investigation line.
