Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 465: How to Use Power

Unlike adventurers, surveyors seem to be in business to walk, too.

And yet, strange things happen.

"Mr. Bandolfi is good at being young, isn't he? If you're a surveyor, you'll need a lot of study."

The average mathematical literacy of people in this world is not high, as the noise of writing a report for the Adventurer's Guild has caused.

Of course, scholars somewhere are geniuses like me and not even me, but if mathematics for surveying is prevalent to young practitioners like surveyors, isn't it hard to insult the education of this world?

"Yeah, it took a lot of training to handle tools!

Bundolphi, the surveyor, smiles with admiration.

Tools? Training? Well, you'll need that, too... but I think there's a slight discrepancy in the perception of what I wanted to hear.

"I'd like to ask this out of curiosity, how does the measurement take place?

"It's... I'm sorry, but I can't speak out. For once, it's a secret of the church, so I can't tell you at my discretion."

While Bandolfi lovingly answers, he denies this request.

Well, is that right?

The secret of knowledge can only help.

For the Church, the technique of being able to measure accurately is probably a technique close to confidential.

I'm glad I didn't have to say "I can do it myself" in a detour, etc.

Return to the topic and meet about future surveying plans.

"You're going to do a survey of the existing fields first. The area of the field as accurately as possible... uh, I'd like you to measure the breadth. This is for the first fair tax I said."

"I see. What do you do with the distance from each house?

Fields close to home are that easy to take up farming time. So each farmer has a field near the house.

Not so far. It's a reasonable story.

Growing new fields disrupts that principle.

Who should own a field far from home? Taking into account the various power relations, economic relations, kinship relations, etc. within the village, ownership of the fields is determined in parts unrelated to workability, with more fields of small compartments like enclaves.

As a result of that having been repeated for generations and generations, a mosaic-like field of ownership will be possible.

Or it's done.

Real fairness in the village, and the pursuit of it, has left us unable to move.

"You don't have to think about that. Measure only the area accurately"

At this time, all blemishes of that species shall be reset. It organizes the compartment and also organizes the ownership of the field, considering only the efficiency of the work. Rural areas of the normal operating system would be frustrated by opposition from the leading, but now it is a situation where the leading people have lost their legs collectively because they have been implicated in the injustice of the former deputies.

For dissatisfied people, new jobs can also be prepared.

So leave it to power to ignore all external noise.

Power is what we use to move things forward or to make things simple.

It is not used to make things easier.

"You do something bold."

I guess a lot has happened in working on surveys in other territories so far.

Bundolphi smiles.

"And that's where the water wheel is installed. At least 5 locations. I want you to measure where you can install up to 10 places, if possible. It's also a chisel. (10) Warehouse, water truck. I want you to measure the land for these three installations."

Specifically describing the requirements for surveying land involved in the water wheel, Bundolphi's face, which until then had an extra grin as an expert, looked a little drawn.
