Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 581: Cultural Walls

Sarah calls out to me when I go back to the workshop and flip the material straight out of my head into the office from one end.

"Kenji, what's wrong?

"I was just wondering... oh, this one"

Sarah peeks over her shoulder and frowns at a bunch of parchment paper she manages to pull out of a pile of booklets piled high on her desk.

"That's a report you sent out to the Adventurers Guild a while back. Is something wrong?

"Oh, actually..."

and explained to Sarah what happened in the Adventurer Guild.

Especially when it came to the threesome boys carrying the pot, Sarah was first horny and then looked sad.

"Those kids, you were fine. But it doesn't sound so good when it comes to Kenji."

"Right. I'm safe, but I can't say I'm making money. But it's crazy."

"What?

"You know that nobles and churches are actively pursuing the development of their lands, right? That's why the wages of adventurers for exorcising monsters and pioneering land should be up. In fact, the Sword Tooth Corps has a good economy. Even the guardian shoes for adventurers continue to grow in sales. Even the price of requests in the Adventurer Alliance is up. I'm taking records, so I'm pretty sure."

"So, what's wrong?

"I don't know, but the lives of the rushing adventurers should be a little better. The figures in the report say so. But it didn't actually look much better. I can't tell you what's going on with the whole thing because it's just the three of us running out."

Then Kilik pinched his mouth there.

"Captain, you can't do that."

"What is it?

"Adventurers are people who live in arms. Even if you don't learn or have a good mouth, you can wish you had a good arm. Without the arm, the portion will be reduced. Those kids aren't risking their lives on monster opponents, so we can't afford to lose points."

I mean, the guys in front are great, and the guys in the back doing plain things aren't great.

If you think that way, you can't move in an organized way.

"But you're actually doing a good job. And prepared warm rice, and paid off the branches of the camp, and brought the branches to pile before the nest pit. Enough work."

"But I'm not risking my life. This isn't all rational. The one who puts his body up against the monster and puts his life up to it is the greatest. The guy hiding behind you, next. The body is big. The guy is respected, and the little guy is licked. Veterans are respected and seen lightly when they are young. That's what it is."

"Stupid reason."

"Yeah, but that's what adventurers are for."

As I listened to Kilik, I saw the structure.

This is not about the social structure I've been trying to change.

It's a matter of the adventurer's own culture.

The social hassle adventurers themselves are oppressing the weak runaways.

I can imagine the cause and the reason.

Because adventurers are a bunch of unschooled people and they are not educated to gain perspective to appreciate plain work.

Of course, not all of them are like that.

Whether you are young or small in body, some humans have the qualities of leaders who can see what they do to make a request and appreciate it fairly.

But that kind of person just comes out and forms a clan that is more than middle-sized.

As a result, all the runaways like the threesome deal with are leaders who are plain but unable to appreciate the essential work for the request, the rewards are not distributed correctly, and the boys are wearing worn skins and wings with empty stomachs.

I wasn't aware that there was a hierarchy created by the adventurers themselves among the runaway adventurers, my mistake.
