Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 632: The Hall of Deputies

I would just like to explain a few things about the hall of deputies that will serve as a base for the future.

The hall of deputies is a spicy white painted building three floors above the ground.

Among the one-story farmhouses lined up, it may be said, among other things, that they are conspicuously made.

It looks like an open castle with a large garden surrounded by a tall stone wall that can welcome many guests.

However, for convenience, it is called a hall, but if you look closely, you can see that this building is a castle fortress, not a castle.

There are several grounds.

Sometimes the castle stands out because of the tall buildings, but also because it is erected on small, tall lands.

Highland buildings are easy to look around and retreat from enemy attacks.

The tall stone walls around the hall are chest walls as thick as a person can ride.

That makes it harder for siege weapons and horseback riding to approach the castle hall, and if it were a battle, building a slab wall on the chest wall would make the fortress extraordinarily defensive.

The ground floor, half underground, is lacquered and hardened with thick stone walls, protecting wheat harvested as a tax from looting, and the well has several places, including indoors, making it possible to cage castles for a long time.

The top floor is made of wood, but if you burn down the stairs, it has a structure that won't come up easily.

Exactly, it could be called a castle fort.

"Why did you make such a castle-like museum?"

And Kirik blurred, but I know why.

My predecessor was scared, even as he oppressed the people.

If you take the high taxes to fatten your private belly, you will be resented by the inhabitants.

I'm afraid of revenge. Not really, spend money to consolidate protection.

I'm going to need to take an even higher tax.

There's nothing I can do about it. It's a negative cycle.

But the fortress, built on the paranoia of pathological preservation, may consequently protect the peasants of the territory when things happen.

Of course, it's never happened before.

◇ ◇ ◇

The inside of the hall was much better ventilated than when I visited for a survey.

The luxury items, paintings and tapestries that were decorated in the mansion were confiscated by the church as evidence of his predecessor's fraudulent accumulation.

However, it cannot be said that those valuables were cashed because they are to be calculated as the property of the Church and invested in this territory.

It doesn't matter how much money you have to raise the flour mill industry.

In that sense, it would be that it saved me the trouble instead.

If we put down all kinds of equipment and tools that we have been transporting to the Intercity Merchants, we will soon be able to live a minimum, but it seems like we will have a hard time getting our lives on track.

Instead of enjoying it at all even in such circumstances, some are rather lively.

"There's a well, there's a cubicle, there's a bed, right? Not enough!

At the end of the cleaning, Sarah commanded people to embark on improving the environment in the mansion.

While putting the craftsmen together in the workshop, they've become very reliable in assigning jobs to people.

Think about it, Sarah has a much longer life in the countryside.

No heart or look lively.

"Me, I want to try and grow a lot in the garden here! Vegetables, herbs..."

"That's okay."

The farmland belongs to the peasants, but the garden of the hall of deputies belongs to the deputies. There is no chance of getting your mouth pinched from the side.

"Later, I want to raise chickens, too. And then you can eat eggs, right?

"Right. Maybe we can eat eggs every day."

"Every day! That's so awesome!

If the flour mill were to become operational, it would also be possible to start a chicken farming industry that makes use of what wheat is, fuma, and when wheat is milled.

If you think it's a preliminary test, some expense and hustle are also in patience.

"Workshop life was good, but rural life is good too!

Sarah seems really happy since she came to the realm.

That smile is simply delightful to me.
