Chapter 719: Paren Regrets Breaking Through

Paren’s frown deepened. "Who is coming?"

Bruno remained silent for a moment before finally answering. "One of the major clans of the Dragon Race."

Paren froze.

For several seconds, he simply stared at Bruno as though he had heard something ridiculous. "One of the major clans?"

Bruno nodded. "Yes. One of the top dragon clans."

Paren slowly inhaled. "Damn it."

That single curse carried more weight than an entire speech.

The Dragon Race was not some ordinary powerful race.

They were one of the top races in the greater cosmic universe, famous for their terrifying bodies, ancient bloodlines, overwhelming pride, and ridiculous combat power.

Even among High Grade Worlds, dragon factions were treated with extreme caution.

The top dragon clans were even worse.

Each of them controlled at least one High-Grade World as the foundation of their clan.

Not a planet, or even a star system, but an entire fucking High-Grade World.

That alone showed just how terrifying their influence was.

It also needed to be remembered that Bruno himself was only the supervisor of the Astral Dragon Cosmic Terminal, one of the Major Astral Cosmic Terminals belonging to the Astral Cosmic Civilization, which was also a High Grade World.

Paren’s expression grew heavier. "Which clan?"

Bruno looked toward the communication panel again. "I don’t know yet. Their spokesperson only confirmed that they represent one of the top dragon clans."

He paused slightly. "And not one of the weaker ones."

Paren’s mouth twitched. "Of course not."

A minor dragon branch would never have been enough to make Bruno openly curse.

Bruno had dealt with Celestial Realm powers many times throughout his career, but compared to the true top clans of the Dragon Race, even his position was not something he could casually use to pressure them.

Paren understood that very clearly.

That was exactly why his mood immediately became worse.

He looked directly at Bruno. "Why are they coming now?"

Bruno’s gaze sharpened. "Why do you think?"

Paren paused.

A moment later, realization appeared on his face.

His expression slowly darkened. "God Gym..."

He rubbed his chin. "No. More specifically, Dahlia, isn’t it?"

Bruno gave a slow nod. "Exactly."

Paren rubbed his forehead, already suspecting where this was going.

It honestly was not difficult to understand.

Dahlia had originally been human.

Yet under God Gym’s training, she had transformed into something that could stand among extremely powerful dragon-type existences.

That alone was absurd enough.

Kaelvar Ignis had also trained at God Gym and had become an exceptionally powerful Star Realm existence himself.

News like that could not remain hidden forever.

Especially not from one of the strongest races in the cosmic universe.

The Dragon Race would eventually investigate.

It had only been a matter of time.

Paren released a tired sigh. "So they’re coming because of God Gym."

Bruno nodded. "Most likely."

Paren looked at him seriously. "What do you think they’re going to do?"

Bruno leaned back and rubbed his forehead. "I don’t know."

Paren frowned. "No idea at all?"

Bruno shook his head. "They could be coming to investigate Dahlia, question Garion, recruit someone, pressure God Gym, offer cooperation, or simply satisfy their curiosity."

His expression became more serious. "With the top dragon clans, assuming anything too early is dangerous."

Paren leaned back in his chair.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

He had only just returned from five years of God Gym torture, finally reached the Celestial Realm, and enjoyed one proper sleep.

Now one of the strongest dragon clans in the universe was apparently heading their way.

Paren slowly closed his eyes. "I just became a Celestial Realm cultivator, and somehow I already want to go back to sleep."

Bruno gave him a dry look. "Welcome to higher-level work."

Paren remained silent for another second. "I regret breaking through."

Bruno chuckled lightly.

The sound made Paren open one eye and look at him suspiciously. "Why are you laughing?"

Bruno said bluntly. Because you’re already acting like an old man who wants to retire."

Paren answered without the slightest shame, "That sounds wonderful."

Bruno shook his head in amusement before standing from his seat and adjusting his sleeves. "Come on."

Paren frowned. "Where?"

Bruno looked at him with obvious amusement. "Follow me. It’s time for your new job."

Paren immediately had a bad feeling. "New job?"

Bruno nodded. "Greeting representatives from one of the top clans of the Dragon Race."

Paren’s face stiffened. "You’re joking."

Bruno shook his head. "I’m not."

Paren stared at him. "I just became a Celestial Realm cultivator."

"Exactly." Bruno gave him an approving nod. "That makes you useful."

Paren fell silent.

For several seconds, he simply stared at Bruno as if reconsidering whether reaching the Celestial Realm had actually been worth it.

Bruno’s expression became slightly more amused. "Besides, if they arrive with good intentions, this could be an excellent opportunity for you."

Paren remained doubtful. "Opportunity?"

Bruno started walking toward the office door. "You’ll get to personally meet representatives from one of the top dragon clans and establish some early connections."

He stopped at the doorway and glanced back at Paren. "At the very least, you’ll be able to brag about it afterward."

Paren’s mouth twitched. "Brag?"

"Of course." Bruno spread one hand casually. "How many newly ascended Celestial Realm cultivators get the chance to personally greet envoys from a top dragon clan?"

Paren looked at him flatly. "How many of them actually want to?"

Bruno let out another quiet laugh. "Probably not many."

Paren pointed at him. "That is exactly my point."

Bruno waved the complaint away. "Relax. You won’t be dealing with them alone. I’ll handle the main conversation."

Paren remained unconvinced.

Bruno continued, "You only need to stand there, look dignified, and avoid insulting anyone."

Paren finally stood from his chair and carefully straightened his robes. "I am perfectly capable of acting dignified."

Bruno nodded seriously. "Good."

Paren followed him toward the door.

For a moment, it almost seemed like the conversation was over.

A second later, Bruno casually added, "The part I’m actually worried about is you managing not to insult anyone."

Paren stopped mid-step.

His face darkened. "I work with Garion."

Bruno looked back at him.

Paren adjusted his sleeve with wounded dignity. "My patience is already legendary."
